Abstract

Introduction: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. This disease attacks the respiratory tract, resulting in chronic symptoms such as narrowing of the airways, shortness of breath, and coughing. However, the management of treatment for this disease is still very lacking. Therefore, the best treatment needs to be understood. Objective: This review article aims to explain the best treatment for COPD sufferers. Design: This study employed a systematic review design guided by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) framework. Data Sources: A comprehensive literature search was conducted using four electronic databases—Scopus, PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar—focusing on articles published between 2020 and 2025. Keywords used included "Non-Pharmacology", "COPD", "Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease", "Therapy", "Intervention", and "Nursing". Studies were included if they used Pre-Experimental, Quasi-Experimental, Randomized Controlled Trial, or Qualitative research designs. Review Methods: Two reviewers performed data extraction and risk of bias assessment independently using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) checklist, with discrepancies resolved through consensus or a third reviewer. Results: A review of 19 articles showed that non-pharmacological interventions, such as telerehabilitation, physical exercise, and breathing techniques, have been shown to help improve the functional capacity and quality of life of COPD patients. Conclusions: The combination of physical and psychological therapies has shown more optimal results, especially with the support of technology. However, further research is needed to evaluate long-term effectiveness and ensure wider and more targeted implementation.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: Pediatric subspecialty care, including multidisciplinary palliative care, tends to be located in urban academic centers or children's hospitals. Telehealth provides an opportunity to care for patients who would otherwise not be able to access services. We present a case in which telehealth was used to provide counseling services to a patient who was unable to receive services. The purpose of writing this review article is to determine the effectiveness of telehealth innovations used for children with palliative care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This systematic review results from searches from five electronic databases (Scopus, ProQuest, Web of Science, Science Direct, PubMed and Sage). The criteria for articles in this research are articles published in 2017 – 2022, full text, articles in English or Indonesian, and research methods using case study, descriptive, qualitative, cross sectional studies. The keywords used are ("teleheatlh" OR "telemedicine") AND ("children" OR "child") AND ("COVID-19" OR "COVID-19 Pandemic") AND ("palliative" OR "palliative care") . The review used the Joanna Briggs Institute Guidelines for quality reviews and the Prisma checklist to guide these reviews. Results : We found fifteen studies that met the inclusion criteria in the review. The included studies contain digital telehealth innovations in pediatric palliative care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Respondents in several studies were pediatric patients aged 7-18 years who were undergoing palliative care. Telehealth using the video conferencing method is effectively used in palliative care for pediatric patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Conclusion: All studies reveal that telehalth is effective during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Background: COVID-19 has become a global crisis that has created public health problems. The impact of COVID-19 infection primarily affects the respiratory tract. The most prominent impairments in COVID-19 infection include difficulty breathing and decreased blood oxygen saturation. This review aims to identify available literature related to the effects of proning techniques on improving respiratory rate and oxygenation (ROX) indices, namely SPO2 and PaO2/FiO2 fractions, in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) due to COVID-19. Methods: A literature review design was employed. An online search strategy was conducted using major electronic databases, including Scopus, PubMed, Science Direct, ProQuest, and Google Scholar. This review design used the Preferred Reporting Items for Systemic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) Guidelines. The literature sources reviewed ranged from 2020 to 2025. Ten articles met the criteria and were reviewed. Results: A total of 387 articles met the screening criteria: 159 articles were identified after screening for duplication, 25 articles met the criteria for full-text review and eligibility, and 15 articles were excluded due to study design and irrelevant results. Ten articles met the criteria and were reviewed. Conclusion: Proning is the use of a prone position that can improve the body's oxygenation adequacy index, both ROX with the SpO₂ indicator and the PaO₂/FiO₂ ratio, and these findings highlight the health practice that healthcare professionals play a key role in assessing oxygenation status, safely applying prone positioning, and closely monitoring patient responses to optimize respiratory outcomes.
