Abstract

This study was conducted to understand how extroverted student characteristics emerge in social interactions in the classroom. The background of the study indicates that social interaction is a crucial component of the learning process in higher education, and extroverted personality plays a significant role in enhancing active participation, interpersonal engagement, and social dynamics in students. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects consisted of three students with extroverted personality tendencies selected through purposive sampling to ensure relevant information. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, then systematically analyzed. The results showed that extroverted students actively participated in class discussions, expressed opinions, and engaged cognitively, emotionally, and socially. This improved communication skills, self-confidence, and optimal understanding of the material, contributing to a comprehensive and effective classroom learning process for all students in various learning situations.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of high academic pressure among students who possess excessively high self-standards or perfectionistic personality traits. The primary issue examined is how these students manage their emotions amidst a constant fear of failure. This study aims to gain a profound understanding of the emotion regulation strategies employed by perfectionistic students. The research method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach to explore the participants 3 subjective experiences. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with active students selected via purposive sampling. The results indicate that participants tend to use maladaptive strategies, such as expressive suppression and procrastination, when they feel unable to achieve maximum targets. Social support and emotional maturity were identified as key factors helping them transition toward adaptive strategies. The study concludes with an emphasis on the necessity of specialized psychological support for perfectionistic students to develop self-compassion.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami dinamika kepribadian ambivert dalam interaksi sosial mahasiswa di lingkungan kampus. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari tiga mahasiswa yang memiliki kecenderungan kepribadian ambivert yang dipilih melalui observasi dan wawancara. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan dengan teknik triangulasi untuk menjaga keabsahan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa dengan kepribadian ambivert memiliki pola interaksi sosial yang dinamis dan fleksibel, yaitu mampu bersikap aktif dan terbuka pada situasi yang nyaman, serta cenderung pasif atau menarik diri pada kondisi yang kurang mendukung. Dinamika tersebut dipengaruhi oleh faktor kenyamanan, kedekatan interpersonal, kondisi lingkungan, dan keadaan emosional individu. Selain itu, mahasiswa ambivert memiliki kesadaran terhadap pengelolaan energi sosial (social battery) sehingga dapat menyeimbangkan kebutuhan untuk bersosialisasi dan menyendiri. Dengan demikian, kepribadian ambivert menunjukkan kemampuan adaptasi yang baik dalam interaksi sosial, meskipun masih menghadapi tantangan seperti rasa cemas dan kurang percaya diri dalam situasi tertentu.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify and describe the characteristics of social interactions among individuals with sanguine personality types. A qualitative approach with a descriptive design was employed. Three research subjects were selected through purposive sampling based on sanguine personality criteria. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing  with validity ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that sanguine individuals exhibit communicative, expressive, sociable, and adaptive characteristics in social interactions. They demonstrate strong abilities in initiating conversations, building new relationships, and sustaining meaningful social bonds, alongside effective emotional management skills. However, tendencies toward unstructured communication and trivial conversations were also noted. Personality, family environment, and peer circles were identified as key influencing factors. This study contributes a nuanced, empirically grounded portrait of sanguine social interaction patterns, offering a novel qualitative perspective that enriches personality-based approaches in social psychology research.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the subjective experiences of individuals in relationships with partners with Avoidant Personality Disorder (AvPD) tendencies through a qualitative approach. AvPD is characterized by a pattern of feelings of inadequacy, high sensitivity to rejection, and a tendency to avoid intense social interactions, including intimate relationships. The research method used a phenomenological design with in-depth interviews with three participants who had experience in romantic relationships with individuals with AvPD symptoms. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques to identify emerging patterns of experience. The results showed that individuals in these relationships often experience complex emotional dynamics, such as confusion, frustration, and feelings of emotional unfulfillment. Participants expressed difficulties in building emotional closeness because their partners tended to maintain distance, avoid conflict, and have an excessive fear of rejection. On the other hand, participants also showed high empathy and attempted to understand their partners' psychological conditions, although this often resulted in emotional exhaustion. This study highlights the importance of psychological understanding, effective communication, and professional support in maintaining relationships with individuals with AvPD tendencies. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of psychological interventions and increase awareness of the dynamics of interpersonal relationships involving personality disorders.

Abstract

This study aims to examine students' self-confidence in classroom presentations from a personality psychology perspective. This study used a descriptive qualitative method involving three students who actively participated in lectures and had presentation experience. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation to obtain an in-depth picture of the students' experiences. The results showed that most students experienced high levels of anxiety and nervousness, especially during their first presentation in front of a class, characterized by physical symptoms such as a trembling voice and lack of eye contact. Student self-confidence was influenced by several key factors: mastery of the material, experience or frequency of presentations, and social support from lecturers and peers. Good mastery of the material was associated with increased self-efficacy, thereby reducing negative thoughts and fear. Furthermore, students employed various strategies such as independent practice, review of the material, presentation simulations, and relaxation techniques to manage anxiety. Therefore, self-confidence is not an innate ability but can be developed through practice, experience, and a positive and ongoing environmental support.

Abstract

This study aims to deeply understand the emotional experiences and personality patterns of students with Social Anxiety Disorder dealing with various social situations. Students, as individuals in the early adult stage, are required to actively interact in academic environments. However, for those experiencing social anxiety, these demands can be a source of pressure that affects their emotional state and behavior. This study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method to explore the subjective experiences of the participants. The research subjects consisted of three students selected through purposive sampling technique with the criteria of having a tendency towards social anxiety. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, and its validity was tested using triangulation. The results showed that students experienced anxiety, fear of negative judgment, low self-confidence, and a tendency to avoid social situations. Physical symptoms such as heart palpitations, sweating, and difficulty speaking also appeared. In addition, a personality pattern was found that tended to be introverted and sensitive to the judgments of others. This condition impacted academic activities and social relationships. This research is expected to provide a basis for developing effective interventions and mentoring.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman guru dalam melakukan asesmen kognitif pada anak dengan Disleksia di Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) di Banda Aceh. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif untuk memahami secara mendalam praktik asesmen yang dilakukan guru dalam konteks pembelajaran sehari-hari. Partisipan penelitian terdiri dari tiga guru yang memiliki pengalaman langsung dalam mengajar dan melakukan asesmen terhadap siswa dengan disleksia. Pemilihan partisipan dilakukan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan pedoman semi-terstruktur, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik untuk mengidentifikasi tema-tema utama yang muncul dari pengalaman partisipan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa asesmen kognitif dipahami guru sebagai proses berkelanjutan yang terintegrasi dengan kegiatan pembelajaran melalui observasi, analisis kesalahan membaca, serta pengamatan terhadap perhatian dan pemrosesan informasi siswa. Guru menghadapi berbagai tantangan, seperti keterbatasan instrumen asesmen terstandar, minimnya pelatihan profesional, keterbatasan waktu, serta kesulitan dalam mengkomunikasikan hasil asesmen kepada orang tua. Untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut, guru mengembangkan berbagai strategi adaptif seperti observasi berulang, modifikasi tugas pembelajaran, serta kolaborasi dengan rekan sejawat. Hasil asesmen kemudian dimanfaatkan sebagai dasar dalam perencanaan pembelajaran individual dan komunikasi dengan orang tua untuk mendukung perkembangan belajar anak
