Abstract

Many students experience the difficulty of applying the right variations of embroidery to clothing. The available learning resources only contain material on clothing variations without providing appropriate examples for applying embroidery variations to clothing. Hence, this research aims to develop an electronic book on the application of embroidery variations to clothing. The research is Research and Development (R&D) research. The development model used is the Brog and gall model. Validation of teaching materials is carried out by material experts and media experts. The validation results from material experts indicates 92.06% in the very feasible category. The validation results from media experts reveals an average of 94.43%, which was very feasible. Small group trials indicates an average result of 82.87% in the very feasible category. Large group trials reveals an average score of 87.85% in the very feasible category. Thus, it can be concluded that the e-book on embroidery variations is very suitable for use in basic embroidery technique courses. The development of an electronic book on embroidery variations can facilitate the delivery of practical material in applying embroidery variations on clothing so as to increase students' understanding of learning basic embroidery techniques.

Abstract

Learning in the fashion business field requires considerable time and effort because it combines theoretical concepts of business management with practical sewing procedures. These complex learning activities often make it difficult for students to fully comprehend and apply the material effectively. This study aimed to determine the feasibility and suitability of a jobsheet-assisted module developed using the 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) model for Fashion Business learning. The research employed a research and development (R&D) method following the 4D stages. The feasibility of the developed module was validated by material experts (87.7%), media experts (93.8%), and students through small, medium, and large group trials. The small group trial involving 10 students achieved 88.25%, the medium group trial with 25 students reached 91.8%, and the large group trial involving 37 students achieved 96.4%, all of which fall into the very suitable category. These results indicate that the jobsheet-assisted module is feasible and suitable for use as a learning medium in Fashion Business courses, providing an integrated approach that connects management concepts with hands-on sewing practice.

Abstract

Learning in the fashion atelier business requires students to integrate competencies in business management, customer service, and professional sewing techniques. However, limited class time and the lack of interactive media often hinder students’ ability to learn independently and apply these skills effectively. This study developed a hypercontent-based e-module integrated with job sheets to enhance independent learning in the Fashion Atelier Business course. The research employed the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) as a systematic development framework. Validation results showed high feasibility: material experts = 89% and media experts = 93%, both categorized as “very good.” User trials yielded positive responses, with scores of 88.5%, 91.2%, and 94.6% for small, medium, and large groups, respectively. These results indicate that the e-module is valid, practical, and effective for vocational learning. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of hypercontent elements with practical job sheets, offering an interactive and self-paced digital learning experience that bridges theory and practice. This innovation supports students’ entrepreneurial readiness and aligns vocational education with Industry 4.0 learning needs, providing a model for technology-enhanced fashion education.

Abstract

Untuk memperluas penggunaan teknologi dalam media pembelajaran pada matakuliah teknologi desain busana, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa video tutorial mendesain busana berbasis aplikasi ibis paint x. Dengan metode Research & Development (R&D) dan dipadukan dengan model pengembangan sistem pembelajaran Dick & Carey, penelitian ini mengembangan media yang layak dan efektif digunakan sebagai sumber belajar untuk tutorial mendesain busana pesta melalui aplikasi Ibis Paint X. Dengan subjek tes yang terdiri dari 5 mahasiswa tes individu, 10 mahasiswa tes kelompok kecil, dan 26 mahasiswa tes kelompok besar, serta 6 ahli sebagai validator materi, media dan desain pembelajaran. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: (1) menghasilkan produk video tutorial mendesain busana pesta berbasis aplikasi Ibis Pain X yang layak digunakan dengan rata-rata persentase 89,08% dengan kategori “sangat baik”, kemudian pada uji coba kelompok memperoleh persentase 91,51% dengan kategori “sangat baik”. (2) keefektifan penggunaan produk yang dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran menunjukan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar sebelum menggunakan dengan setelah menggunakan produk, hal ini berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh dari t^hitung>t^tabel atau 2,27>1,71088 dengan df= n-2 =24 diketahui bahwa hasil setelah menggunakan produk media pembelajaran berupa video tutorial yang dikembangkan efektif
