Abstract

The Society 5.0 era, which emphasizes the integration of technology into all aspects of life, demands a transformation in Islamic education, including in the teaching of religious moderation. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of digital-based religious moderation learning through a literature review approach of relevant articles. Data collection was conducted by selecting articles based on inclusion criteria from databases such as SINTA, Scopus, and Google Scholar, which were then analyzed thematically. The results show that digital-based religious moderation learning holds great potential for internalizing moderation values such as tolerance, justice, and balance, particularly when supported by explicit integration of values into the curriculum, the use of interactive media, value-based teacher training, and project-based learning approaches. However, significant barriers were identified, such as the lack of longitudinal studies, overemphasis on cognitive aspects, technological infrastructure limitations, and the absence of systematic value-based learning design. In conclusion, to ensure the long-term effectiveness of digital-based religious moderation learning, the development of an integrative model that includes critical digital literacy, the strengthening of social values in virtual spaces, and educational policies based on Islamic moderation values is required. This study recommends the need for further longitudinal research and more systematic value-based learning design to support adaptive Islamic education in the Society 5.0 era

Abstract

This study aims to explore the concept of Islamic ecotheology that highlights the spiritual relationship between humans, nature, and God in Islamic tradition. In facing the global environmental crisis, Islamic ecotheology offers a theological perspective that can be a solution to ecological degradation through an approach based on Islamic values. This study uses a literature review method by analyzing various primary and secondary sources, including the Qur'an, Hadith, and the thoughts of Muslim scholars and intellectuals related to Islamic ecology. The results of the study show that Islamic ecotheology emphasizes the concept of tauhid (the oneness of God) as the basis for ecological awareness, amanah (responsibility) of humans as caliphs on earth, and the principles of balance (mizan) and sustainability (istishlah) in maintaining environmental sustainability. The novelty of this study is a systematic mapping of Islamic teachings related to ecology and their relevance in building environmental awareness based on Islamic spirituality, as well as offering a new paradigm in ecotheological studies that connect the normative aspects of Islam with contemporary environmental challenges.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education in the modern era faces an epistemological challenge in the form of a dichotomy between transcendent sources (revelation) and rational sources (reason and empirical experience), which often gives rise to a normative-dogmatic or, conversely, rationalistic-secular learning approach. This condition impacts the weak formation of students' religious awareness that is complete, reflective, and contextual. This study aims to analyze the epistemological integration of transcendent and rational sources in Islamic Religious Education and its implications for the formation of students' religious awareness. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method of primary and secondary sources in the form of the Qur'an, hadith, works of interpretation, books on Islamic educational philosophy, and relevant journal articles. Data collection techniques are carried out through documentation and systematic searches of literature that has conceptual and theoretical relevance. Data analysis uses a thematic and interpretative analysis model by linking the concepts of Islamic epistemology, educational theory, and the objectives of Islamic Religious Education. Data validity is maintained through triangulation of sources, theories, and perspectives of expert thought. The research results show that the integration of the epistemology of revelation and reason in Islamic Religious Education forms a learning paradigm that not only instills normative beliefs but also encourages critical reasoning, moral reflection, and contextual spiritual awareness. Students' religious awareness does not stop at ritual obedience but develops into a responsible ethical and social awareness. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of developing an Islamic Religious Education curriculum and learning strategies that integrate transcendent and rational dimensions in a balanced manner to develop religious, critical, and civilized students in modern life.
