Abstract

Madrasah as an Islamic educational institution has a strategic role in the formation of character and morals of students. This study aims to analyze the development of madrasahs in Indonesia from the aspects of history, curriculum, roles, and challenges faced. The research method used is a literature study by collecting data from various sources such as books, journals, and education policy documents. The results of the study indicate that madrasahs have evolved from traditional mosque-based institutions to formal institutions recognized in the national education system. The madrasah curriculum combines general and religious education with a portion of 40% religious material. Madrasahs play an important role in instilling Islamic values through teacher role models, worship practices, and religious environments. However, madrasahs still face challenges such as limited facilities, technological gaps, and complicated bureaucracy. The solutions offered include increasing government support, strengthening the curriculum, and optimizing madrasah management. This study provides recommendations for policy makers to strengthen the role of madrasahs in the national education system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of the completeness of learning media to the learning outcomes of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) of students at SMP Negeri 2 Padangsidimpuan, Indonesia. The method used in this study is a quantitative approach with descriptive and correlational designs. The study population consisted of all students of grade VIII, with a sample taken by purposive sampling of 60 students. Data were collected through questionnaires to measure the completeness of learning media and PAI learning outcome tests to measure students' academic achievement. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant positive relationship between the completeness of learning media and students' PAI learning outcomes. The average learning outcome score of students who used complete learning media was higher than that of students who used incomplete learning media. This finding indicates that the use of varied and complete learning media can improve students' understanding and learning outcomes in PAI subjects. This study suggests that PAI teachers at SMP Negeri 2 Padangsidimpuan make better use of and complete existing learning media to improve learning effectiveness. In addition, school administrators are expected to provide adequate resources to support the use of better learning media.

Abstract

The rapid digital transformation in education has redefined the role of teachers, necessitating the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance pedagogical efficiency. This study aims to analyze the needs of primary school teachers regarding AI, describe the implementation of AI-assisted smart teaching training, and evaluate its impact on teachers' professional competence and the quality of produced instructional tools. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach with a field study design, the research was conducted at UPTD SD Negeri 33 Bangai. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis of teaching modules and worksheets. The subjects were selected via purposive sampling, and data were analyzed using the interactive model of reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that AI-assisted smart teaching training effectively shifts teachers from passive technology users to active pedagogical designers. Findings reveal a paradigm shift where teachers perceive AI as "augmenting intelligence" that strengthens rather than replaces their professional role. The instructional tools produced post-training showed significant improvements in systematic alignment and the integration of Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Grounded in adult learning and experiential learning theories, this practice-based model fosters greater learning autonomy and reflective practice. This study contributes empirical evidence for the primary education context, suggesting that human-centered and pedagogically-driven AI integration is a vital strategy for teacher professional development in the digital era.
