Abstract

Al-Jam’iyatul Washliyah is one of the Islamic organizations in Indonesia. The word Al-Jam’iyatul Washliyah comes from Arabic which means a gathering or association that connects. An Islamic group involved in community service, education, and da'wah (spiritual guidance), the Al-Wasliyah organization is the focus of this research. Qualitative methods, including in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, make up the research strategy. The data was subjected to thematic analysis to reveal recurring themes regarding implementing Islamic leadership and management concepts. The results of the study show that Al-Wasliyah consistently applies Islamic values in its organizational activities, such as shura (deliberation), amanah (trust), justice, and management efficiency. Leadership in Al-Wasliyah is based on Islamic principles, including the characteristics of Siddiq (honest), tabligh (communicative), fathanah (intelligent), and amanah (trustworthy). Based on Islamic teachings, organizational leaders act as role models, motivators, and decision-makers. However, this study also found challenges, such as the lack of consistency in applying Islamic management principles at the branch level, limited competent human resources, and minimal use of technology to support organizational activities. The main supporting factors for organizational success include strong Islamic values, extensive networks, and the spirit of Islamic brotherhood. This study concludes that the application of Islamic management and leadership in Al-Wasliyah has a positive impact on organizational performance, although efforts are still needed to modernize and strengthen in several aspects. Recommendations include increasing leaders' capacity, strengthening organizational structures, and utilizing digital technology to support more effective organizational management.

Abstract

Early Childhood Education (PAUD) has a strategic role in shaping children's character and cultural identity from an early age. In the midst of increasingly massive globalization, children are increasingly exposed to foreign cultures that can erode their local cultural values. This study aims to analyze the implementation of PAUD curriculum based on local wisdom in the context of formal education and evaluate its impact on strengthening the cultural identity of early childhood. The method used is a literature study by examining various theories, concepts, and relevant previous research results. The results of the analysis show that the integration of local cultural elements such as folklore, regional songs, traditional games, and traditional ceremonies into learning activities can increase children's cultural awareness and shape character based on noble values such as honesty, responsibility, tolerance, and cooperation. The implementation of this curriculum requires careful planning and the involvement of various parties, including educators, parents, traditional leaders, and local communities so that local wisdom values can be optimally internalized in every learning activity. However, the implementation of local wisdom-based curriculum faces various significant challenges, such as limited competence and resources of educators, lack of official guidelines and policy support, minimal involvement of parents and traditional leaders, and competition with the flow of globalization and digital media that distract children. Serious attention is needed from policy makers, adequate teacher training, close collaboration between schools and communities, and the development of learning facilities and infrastructure that support the optimization of this planning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning on students' character development at SMA Negeri 4 Sibolga. Character education is a crucial element in the national education system, particularly in shaping students into individuals who are religious, honest, disciplined, responsible, and cooperative. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach using a survey method, with questionnaires distributed to 60 eleventh-grade students. The results indicate that IRE learning has a positive influence on students' character formation. The religious aspect scored the highest (88%), followed by responsibility (81%) and honesty (79%). Meanwhile, cooperation (72%) and discipline (74%) were identified as areas needing further enhancement through more participatory teaching methods. These findings support the view that IRE is a strategic tool for strengthening character education in secondary schools. Therefore, innovative, contextual, and applicable teaching approaches are needed to ensure optimal internalization of character values among students.
