Abstract

The Intensive Program in Learning Arabic at MA Raudhatul Ulum is a program that changes the policy of 4 years of study for non-alumni students at MTs Raudhatul Ulum to 3 years like normal Madrasah Aliyah by speeding up the learning process and condensing Arabic language materials intensively. This program has been running since 2008, but there has been no detailed and comprehensive evaluation regarding this program. This research aims to determine the results of an intensive program evaluation in Arabic language learning at MA Raudhatul Ulum using the CIPP model evaluation developed by Daniel L. Stufflebeam, et al. The type of research used is evaluative research with a qualitative approach, data collection using observation, interview and documentation techniques. Meanwhile, analyzing data is carried out by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, drawing conclusions and verifying data. The results of the CIPP model evaluation in this research show that the intensive program in Arabic language learning at MA Raudhatul Ulum has been implemented well. Of the four components, the Context and Product components are in the very good category, while the other two components, namely Input and Process, are in the good category. Based on these results, it is recommended that the implementation of the intensive program be continued with certain notes.

Abstract

This article examines the role of surau education in shaping Buya Hamka's inclusive and tolerant attitude towards local Minangkabau traditions. Departing from the agenda of religious moderation and the importance of local wisdom, this study highlights a gap in research that has so far mostly discussed Hamka's moderation or Minangkabau surau separately. The study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study, combining historical-sociological and biographical-intellectual analysis of Hamka's educational journey, as well as content analysis of his works related to customs and Qur'anic interpretation. The results show, first, that Minangkabau surau education, including during its transformation into a madrasah, produced a configuration of monotheistic values, Sufism, morals, deliberation, and a balance between religion and custom that aligns with the concept of wasathiyah. Second, Hamka's attitude towards local traditions is both inclusive and exclusive: he embraced customs as a source of moral wisdom, but firmly committed to practices that violated justice and monotheism. Third, the values and pedagogical mechanisms of the surau act as a foundation and “ethical anchor” that enable Hamka to combine intellectual openness with respect for local traditions, while also offering a conceptual model for the development of local wisdom-based Islamic education in contemporary Indonesia

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ethical values of seeking knowledge in QS. Thaha verse 114 and their relevance to strengthening modern pedagogy. This study uses a qualitative method with a library study type, which examines primary sources such as the Qur'an and tafsir books, as well as secondary literature related to Islamic education and contemporary pedagogical theory. The results of the study indicate that QS. Thaha verse 114 contains key values that are highly relevant to today's education, namely the prohibition of haste in understanding knowledge, emphasizing the importance of patience, thoroughness, and a gradual process, the prayer "rabbi zidni ilma" reflects the principles of lifelong learning and intellectual humility. These values have implications for the formation of teachers with integrity, reflection, and continuously developing their competence, as well as students who have a learning awareness, intrinsic motivation, and a polite scientific character. Thus, QS. Thaha verse 114 provides an important conceptual contribution to the development of more in-depth modern educational practices, and is rooted in Qur'anic values
