Abstract

This study aims to examine the phenomenon of fundamentalism in Islam from historical, ideological, and contemporary social perspectives. Using a qualitative approach with a literature review method, the research identifies two main dimensions of Islamic fundamentalism: as an expression of piety that seeks to preserve the purity of religious teachings, and as a reactive ideology with the potential to incite violence. The emergence of fundamentalism is driven by multiple factors, including responses to modernity and secularization, identity crises, failures in religious education institutions, and socio-political disparities. The most critical impacts of this phenomenon are social instability, narrowing of scholarly discourse, and the radicalization of youth. This study is expected to contribute to academic discourse on contemporary Islam and serve as a reference in formulating religious moderation strategies in pluralistic societies.

Abstract

This study examines the existence of hadith as the second source of Islamic law after the Qur’an, as well as the methods employed to interpret and implement it in the formation of Islamic legal rulings. Hadith serves as an explanation of Qur’anic verses, a source of new legal rulings, and a guide for Muslim daily life. The research combines library study and field observation, employing the maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah approach to analyze the principles, methods, and both textual and contextual approaches in understanding hadith. Findings reveal that a comprehensive understanding of hadith requires verification of the chain of transmission, analysis of the text, and consideration of historical and social contexts. Accordingly, hadith not only reinforces its position as a source of Islamic law but also contributes to the development of relevant, applicable, and contemporary-oriented legal solutions.

Abstract

One of the important themes of property rights in which the Qur'an provides the position of property rights, both how to obtain property rights, maintain property rights and distribute wealth that has been syarized. This paper aims to reveal the role of the Qur'an in maintaining property rights and distributing property so as to create a balance of property. The method used in the research is descriptive qualitative and tafsir approach from the language of the verse in the Qur'an relating to maintaining property rights and distributing wealth. This study confirms that the Qur'an teaches Muslims to acquire wealth in a halal way, use it wisely, and fulfill social responsibilities. The application of the concept of the balance of wealth in the Quran in the economic life of modern Muslims can create an economy that is fair, sustainable, and brings blessings to individuals and society.
