Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of interactive digital media in the implementation of the Discovery Learning model to enhance students' cognitive competence in science learning at the junior high school level. The method used is a literature review by analyzing various scholarly articles, national journals, and relevant research from the past five years. The review findings indicate that the application of Discovery Learning supported by interactive digital media, such as Genially, creates a more exploratory and meaningful learning experience. Interactive digital media facilitates independent learning activities, problem-solving, and scientific reasoning, all of which are components of cognitive competence

Abstract

Education in Indonesia continues to develop along with advances in science and technology, demanding innovation in Natural Science (IPA) learning to improve students' understanding of concepts. This study aims to examine digital media and learning models that are effective in increasing understanding of science concepts in lower level schools through a systematic literature review. Data was obtained from 22 articles published in 2020–2025 using the Publish or Perish application with related keywords. The analysis shows that digital learning media such as virtual laboratories, augmented reality (AR), interactive videos, quiz applications (Quizizz, Wordwall), and interactive e-books, are effective in helping students understand abstract science concepts in a more concrete and fun way. In addition, learning models such as Problem Based Learning (PBL), Discovery Learning, and Project Based Learning (PjBL) combined with digital media have been proven to increase student engagement, critical thinking, and deep understanding of science material. This decision recommends integrating interactive digital media and constructivism-based learning models in science learning to create active, contextual and meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

Junior high school students' critical thinking skills need to be possessed and trained to face the 21st century. The increasingly developing era of education is an important aspect to combat the future. However, junior high school science learning is generally still relatively low because the learning approach does not involve students enough. One learning model that is considered effective is inquiry learning. This learning model involves students and encourages them to improve their critical thinking skills. This study aims to examine the role and influence of the inquiry learning model to improve the critical thinking skills of junior high school students. The method used is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) from Google Scholar. The data search keywords are inquiry learning and critical thinking skills, 20 articles were found and 10 articles will be reviewed with these criteria. The research findings show that the use of the inquiry learning model can improve the thinking skills of junior high school students in science subjects.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the utilization of Pop-Up Book media in the context of learning Natural Sciences (IPA) at the junior high school (SMP) level. The methodology employed is a systematic literature review guided by the PRISMA approach, encompassing the identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion of pertinent articles. A comprehensive review of the extant literature yielded seven articles that satisfied the established inclusion and exclusion criteria. These articles were then subjected to a rigorous analysis to address two primary research questions: (1) What materials are employed as topics in Pop-Up Books for science education, and (2) What aspects of learning are demonstrably enhanced by the utilization of Pop-Up Book media in science education at the junior high school level? The analysis indicates that the Pop-Up Book is an effective tool for enhancing students' cognitive, affective, and social dimensions. From a cognitive perspective, this media assists students in comprehending abstract scientific concepts through engaging three-dimensional visual representations. Within the affective domain, the Pop-Up Book has been demonstrated to cultivate students' interest and motivation to learn, while concurrently fostering curiosity and responsibility. From a sociological perspective, this medium fosters collaboration and communication among students engaged in learning activities. The utilization of Pop-Up Books in the context of science education in junior high school has been demonstrated to enhance comprehension of scientific concepts. Furthermore, it has been observed to foster creativity, refine critical thinking abilities, and fortify the affective and social dimensions of students. This multifaceted approach positions Pop-Up Books as an effective pedagogical tool.

Abstract

Kepemimpinan memainkan peran penting dalam menentukan kesuksesan suatu organisasi, seperti lembaga pendidikan. Penting untuk memiliki gaya kepemimpinan yang dapat mendorong kerja sama tim dan beradaptasi dengan cepat terhadap perubahan. Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk membahas konsep kepemimpinan secara umum dan menjelaskan kepemimpinan kolaborasi (collaborative leadership) dan kepemimpinan agile (agile leadership) dalam konteks implementasinya beserta faktor pendukung dan penghambat di lembaga pendidikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode tinjauan pustaka (literature review) dengan menganalisis berbagai sumber literatur yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun kepemimpinan agile mendorong fleksibilitas, kreativitas, dan kemampuan beradaptasi terhadap perubahan, kepemimpinan kolaboratif mendorong partisipasi dan kerja sama di antara anggota organisasi. Kedua strategi ini dapat mendorong strategi pembelajaran yang lebih efektif, fleksibel, dan terfokus.

Abstract

Perubahan organisasi merupakan hal yang tidak dapat dihindari, terutama dalam organisasi pendidikan yang berurusan dengan kemajuan teknologi, standar kualitas, dan lingkungan yang terus berubah. Oleh karena itu, organisasi memerlukan proses untuk mendiagnosis perubahan guna mengidentifikasi masalah dan menentukan langkah yang tepat. Tujuan penulisan makalah ini adalah untuk mengkaji konsep mendiagnosis perubahan organisasi serta beberapa alat yang dapat digunakan untuk menganalisis kondisi organisasi sebelum melakukan perubahan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode tinjauan pustaka (literature review) dengan memanfaatkan berbagai ringkasan buku dan artikel jurnal yang relevan. Temuan studi menunjukkan bahwa diagnosis perubahan organisasi membantu pemimpin memahami kondisi organisasi secara keseluruhan, termasuk strukturnya, proses kerja, hubungan antar karyawan, dan sistem manajemen. Berbagai alat diagnosis seperti Six-Box Model, McKinsey 7-S Framework, Star Model, Congruence Model, Burke-Litwin Model, dan Four-Frame Model. Melalui penggunaan alat diagnosis yang tepat, organisasi dapat menerapkan strategi manajemen perubahan yang lebih efektif, efisien, dan berkelanjutan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan kualitas organisasi, terutama di lembaga pendidikan.

Abstract

Purpose- This research was carried out to explain the scientific literacy profile of undergraduate science education students in the context of Applied Science, by examining (1) the proportion of science literacy question dimensions in multiple-choice test instruments, and (2) student achievement scores on each of the question dimensions of scientific literacy.Methodology- This is a descriptive, quantitative study with a one-shot, cross-sectional measurement design. The study group included 115 pre-service science teachers from four parallel (A-D) classes, sampled using total sampling. The test contained 20 multiple-choice questions, which were pre-aligned to four dimensions of scientific literacy, including knowledge, attitudes, context, and competencies, and each of these dimensions was explicitly defined. Procedures included administering the test, scoring dichotomously (correct/incorrect), summarizing achievement by dimension using percent correct, and conducting Classical Test Theory item analysis by calculating percent correct for each item and classifying difficulty.Finding- This study reveals that dimension achievement showed the highest performance in attitudes and moderate performance in knowledge, whereas performance in context and competencies was lower. Item difficulty analysis indicated that most items were easy (p > 0.70), a smaller portion were moderate (0.30–0.70), and none were difficult (p < 0.30), suggesting the instrument is effective for screening foundational mastery but may be less effective at differentiating mid-to-high performance levels.Contribution- This study provides an applied-science, explicit scientific literacy profile for science education students. It delivers practical diagnostic evidence to improve the MCQ instrument by balancing the blueprint, strengthening distractors, and increasing cognitive demand to capture contextual decision-making better
