Abstract

This study aims to emphasize the importance of equipping farmers with enhanced capabilities to maximize the potential of their available resources. As one of the foundational pillars of national development, farmers play a critical role in ensuring food security through their agribusiness activities. To improve both the quantity and quality of agricultural output, effective farmer management systems must be developed based on real-world challenges faced in the field. Enhancing farmer welfare requires the optimal application of modern and renewable scientific knowledge. This research adopts a qualitative, literature-based approach, drawing on peer-reviewed scientific references and prior studies. The findings highlight that improving farmer performance depends on several key factors: skill development, increased discipline, enhanced productivity, and better overall management practices. This study contributes to the body of knowledge by synthesizing prior research into a practical framework for enhancing farmer performance. It offers insights for policymakers, agricultural trainers, and development practitioners on how to structure farmer empowerment programs rooted in field realities and scientific evidence.

Abstract

Abstract: This work program aims to increase the capacity of agribusiness actors in Ganjar Asri Village in managing human resources (HR) effectively and systematically. Based on the results of the initial assessment, the majority of agribusiness actors do not understand the basics of HR management. Activities were carried out using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) and Community-Based Research (CBR) approaches to explore local strengths and empower the community as equal partners. The methods used included asset mapping, focus group discussions, participatory training, and field assistance. The results showed an increase in participants' understanding by 60%, as well as the application of new managerial practices in their businesses. This program is expected to be replicated and sustainable to strengthen village agribusiness institutions. Keywords: human resource management, agribusiness

Abstract

The quality of vocational education, particularly in the agribusiness sector at vocational high schools (SMK), is still facing several challenges, including the limited use of contextual and innovative learning materials that align with industry demands. Learning modules currently in use tend to be theoretical, less interactive, and do not adequately support students' practical skills or entrepreneurship development. This research aims to develop an innovative learning module to enhance the effectiveness and relevance of teaching agribusiness in SMKs. The study employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach, adapted from the Borg and Gall model, involving stages of needs analysis, design, development, expert validation, revision, limited trial, and broader field testing. Data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, expert validations, and student learning outcomes (pretest and posttest). The module was developed using a combination of Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Project-Based Learning (PjBL), and Teaching Factory approaches, and integrated with digital media and interactive content. The results show that the module is valid according to experts in terms of content, language, and presentation, and is practical and effective based on responses from teachers and students. The implementation of the module in classrooms improved student engagement, collaboration, and achievement. Furthermore, students demonstrated better understanding of agribusiness concepts and improved entrepreneurial skills. In conclusion, the development of this innovative learning module provides a significant contribution to improving the quality of vocational agribusiness education and can serve as a model for future instructional material design in similar contexts

Abstract

The increasing scarcity of clean water, exacerbated by population growth and climate change, calls for effective and efficient water management, especially at the household level. This study aims to develop a simple linear mathematical model to estimate daily household water consumption based on commonly observed domestic activities. The total water usage (W) is expressed as a function of key variables such as the number of residents, shower duration, laundry frequency, and dishwashing frequency, each multiplied by an empirical coefficient. These coefficients are drawn from published data to ensure representativeness. A case study conducted on a four-member household in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia, shows an estimated daily water consumption of 631.5 liters, aligning with global benchmarks. The study concludes that this linear model provides a practical and accessible framework for estimating household water use and can serve as a foundational tool for promoting water conservation strategies and informing public policy.
