Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze the application of realism philosophy in the context of education and its impact on teaching methods. Education based on realism emphasizes teaching rooted in reality and the objective world, where knowledge and skills are acquired through direct experience and observation of the surrounding environment. This study employs a literature review method, examining various references and literature related to realism philosophy and its implementation in education. Realism significantly contributes to the development of a factual knowledge-based curriculum; however, its application faces challenges, such as reliance on overly objective approaches and a lack of flexibility in accommodating individual student needs. While realism provides an effective approach to shaping students' character and knowledge, its implementation must adapt to the dynamics of modern education, which increasingly emphasizes creativity and practical skills development. Therefore, it is crucial to strike a balance between reality-based teaching and innovation in educational methods.

Abstract

This paper examines Imam Al-Ghazali's educational thought and its relevance in the modern world of education. As a great scholar in the Islamic tradition, Al-Ghazali emphasized that education is not only for the transfer of knowledge, but also for the formation of individual character and spirituality. Through a library research approach, this study explores Al-Ghazali's ideas on moral and moral education, and assesses whether his views are still relevant to address contemporary educational challenges. Al-Ghazali proposed active, reflective and spiritual values-oriented learning methods, which can be adapted to strengthen moral and ethical education in the modern era. This research aims to bridge traditional thought and today's educational needs, while identifying the positive contributions that Al-Ghazali's thought can make to the modern education system.

Abstract

This article examines the phenomenon of violence perpetrated by religious defenders in Sumenep Regency, Madura. The study employs a qualitative approach with methods such as observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that religiously motivated violence in Sumenep is triggered by factors such as fanaticism, socio-economic inequality, provocation, and a lack of comprehensive understanding of religious principles. The forms of violence include mass mobilization, vigilantism, asset burning, and forced expulsion of groups deemed deviant. Efforts to foster interfaith harmony have been initiated by the government and community leaders, but their implementation requires further enhancement to achieve optimal results. Artikel ini membahas fenomena kekerasan yang dilakukan oleh para pembela agama di Kabupaten Sumenep, Madura. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kekerasan bermuansa agama di Sumenep dipicu oleh faktor-faktor seperti fanatisme, ketidakadilan sosial ekonomi, provokasi, serta kurangnya pemahaman komprehensif terhadap prinsip-prinsip agama. Bentuk kekerasan yang terjadi meliputi mobilisasi massa, penghakiman, pembakaran aset, dan pengusiran paksa terhadap kelompok yang dianggap menyimpang. Upaya pembinaan kerukunan umat beragama telah dilakukan oleh pemerintah dan tokoh masyarakat, namun implementasinya masih perlu ditingkatkan untuk mencapai hasil yang optimal.
