Abstract

This activity aims to provide appreciative development for students of the Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program at Universitas Merangin in the field of applied literature in 2025. Applied literature is understood as an educational tool that integrates literary values into learning contexts and character development. Through a practical approach, the development activities are carried out by both lecturers and students. The results of the activity show that appreciative development is implemented through various activities such as literary training, educational drama, and discussions on relevant contemporary literary works. This development not only enhances students’ appreciation of literature but also encourages their ability to adapt literary works into creative and contextual learning methods. These findings affirm the importance of integrating applied literature into the PGSD curriculum to shape future teachers who are humanistic, reflective, and innovative in their teaching.

Abstract

This activity highlights the integration of artificial intelligence in drama appreciation learning at PBSI Merangin University, with a focus on theatrical performances of poems by Wiko Antoni. Through an AI-based interactive approach, students are invited to explore the aesthetic meaning and cultural values in poetry, as well as develop creative expression through digital media. The results of the activity show that technology-based theatrical presentation is able to strengthen literary appreciation and enrich the learning experience.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak siswa kelas V Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Baiturrohim melalui penerapan metode storytelling. Permasalahan yang ditemukan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan menyimak siswa masih rendah, ditandai dengan kurangnya pemahaman terhadap isi cerita yang disampaikan secara lisan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 20 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, tes keterampilan menyimak, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada keterampilan menyimak siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II. Pada siklus I, observasi guru 65,63%, observasi siswa 43,75% dan indikator keberhasilan siswa dengan keterampilan menyimak menggunakan metode storytelling 60%. Sedangkan pada siklus II meningkat dimana observasi guru 96,88%, observasi siswa 87,5% dan indikator keberhasilan siswa dengan keterampilan menyimak menggunakan metode storytelling 100%. Penerapan metode storytelling terbukti efektif dalam membantu siswa lebih fokus, antusias, dan memahami isi cerita dengan lebih baik. Dengan demikian, metode storytelling dapat dijadikan alternatif pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan bermakna dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak siswa sekolah dasar.
