Abstract

In literature learning, especially geguritan (Javanese poetry), an important factor that influences students’ understanding of meaning is reading comprehension. When students are able to explain the content of a geguritan, it indicates a thorough understanding of the text. However, classroom practice shows that students’ reading comprehension is still lacking. This study aims to describe the widya makna (layers of meaning) in the poetry anthology Gurit Kangen. A descriptive qualitative method was used, with purposive sampling as the sampling technique. The data consist of words, phrases, or clauses containing denotative, connotative, and figurative meanings, which were obtained from documents and informants through document analysis and interviews. Validation techniques include data theory triangulation and methodological triangulation. The data analysis follows Miles and Huberman’s interactive model: data collection, reduction, display, and conclusion. The findings reveal that the widya makna in Gurit Kangen includes denotative, connotative, and figurative meanings. Teachers and students gained new insights into these layers of meaning, particularly denotative, connotative, and figurative meanings, which helped enhance students’ understanding of geguritan.

Abstract

This community service program aims to introduce and instill the values ​​of etiquette and politeness in Javanese language for communicating on social media. The partner of this activity is SMP Negeri 2 Surakarta. This training targets school students. One of the reasons for holding the training at this school is because this school has a very large number of students with the condition that almost all of the students use cellphones in their daily lives. The event carried out was a training in etiquette and politeness in communicating using Javanese language on social media conducted by the Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Hibah Grup Riset (PKM HGR-UNS) Tahun 2025 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jawa, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta. The methods used in this community service activity are: (1) expository (explanation), (2) group discussion, and (3) assignments. The results of the activity show that junior high school students have a better understanding of Javanese language ethics in the digital space, and are able to identify and apply appropriate forms of etiquette and politeness in various online communication situations. This activity demonstrates the effectiveness of a local culture-based educational approach in fostering polite and ethical language awareness among the younger generation. Therefore, local wisdom values, such as polite language, need to be continuously internalized in language education, particularly in the context of today's digital communication.

Abstract

Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan terdapat tidaknya hubungan antara penguasaan tingkat tutur bahasa Jawa dan keterampilan menulis teks dialog berbahasa Jawa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei dengan pendekatan studi korelasional. Variabel yang terdapat pada penelitian ini adalah independen (penguasaan tingkat tutur bahasa Jawa) dan variabel dependen (keterampilan menulis teks dialog berbahasa Jawa). Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 3 Sukoharjo. Adapun sampel yang dipilih adalah siswa kelas X BB SMA Negeri 3 Sukoharjo. Sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Berdasarkan variabel penelitian ini, terdapat dua jenis data yang dikumpulkan. Pertama, data keterampilan menulis teks dialog berbahasa Jawa dikumpulkan dengan tes. Kedua, data penguasaan tingkat tutur bahasa Jawa dikumpulkan dengan tes. Hasil analisis korelasi sederhana antara penguasaan tingkat tutur bahasa Jawa dan keterampilan menulis teks dialog berbahasa Jawa menunjukkan bahwa secara signifikan, keduanya memiliki hubungan. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan dengan hasil pengujian menggunakan uji t untuk mengetahui kekuatan hubungan antara penguasaan tingkat tutur bahasa Jawa dan keterampilan menulis teks dialog berbahasa Jawa sebesar 1,88 yang lebih besar dari ttabel = 1,679. Selain itu, variabel penguasaan tingkat tutur bahasa Jawa memberikan kontribusi sebesar 14% terhadap variabel keterampilan menulis teks dialog berbahasa Jawa. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kedua variabel tersebut memiliki hubungan positif, artinya semakin baik penguasaan tingkat tutur bahasa Jawa siswa maka semakin baik pula keterampilan menulis teks dialog berbahasa Jawa mereka.

Abstract

This research is to analyze the image of Javanese women and the value of character education. The object used in this research activity is the film entitled Kartini which was produced by Hanung Bramantyo. The aim of this research is to explain the image of Javanese women in the film Kartini. This type of research is qualitative research with content analysis. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method with a feminist approach. The data sources in this research are in the form of documents and informants. Then use purposive sampling to collect data. Data collection techniques are used as document sampling and interview techniques. The technique for testing data validity uses triangulation of theory and data sources. The required data analysis procedures are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this study are the image of women in the Kartini Film including: the image of women reviewed through physical, psychological, social family, and social community aspects. The attitudes and behavior of women depicted in the Kartini film are beautiful, flexible, slender-fingered Javanese women, mature and unmarried women, a strong woman and has a sense of tepa slira, a woman who in her family is a sister, a mother, and a child. Then in social society has a role as someone who has a high position such as the child of a King or Regent and has friendly relations with outsiders.Penelitian ini adalah menganalisis citra wanita Jawa dan nilai pendidikan karakter. Objek yang digunakan di dalam kegiatan penelitian ini adalah film yang berjudul Kartini yang diproduksi oleh Hanung Bramantyo. Tujuan diadakan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menjelaskan bentuk citra wanita Jawa di dalam film Kartini. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan analisis isi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan feminisme. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini berwujud dokumen dan informan. Lalu menggunakan purposive sampling untuk mengambil data. Teknik mengambil data yang digunakan sebagai teknik smalisi dokumen dan wawancara. Teknik uji validitas data menggunakan triangulasi teori dan sumber data. Tata cara menganalisis data yang dibutuhkan yaitu mengumpulkan data, reduksi data, sajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu citra wanita yang ada di dalam Film Kartini meliputi: citra wanita yang ditinjau melalui aspek fisik, psikis, sosial keluarga, dan sosal masyarakat. Sikap dan perilaku perempuan yang digambarkan di dalam film Kartini yaitu perempuan Jawa yang cantik, luwes, berjari lentik, perempuan yang dewasa dan belum menikah, seorang wanita yang kuat dan mempunyai rasa tepa slira, seorang wanita yang di dalam keluarganya sebagai adik, sebagai ibu, dan sebagai anak. Lalu di dalam sosial masyarakat mempunyai peran sebagai seseorang yang mempunayi kedudukan yang tinggi seperti anak dari seorang Raja atau Bupati dan mempunyai hubungan pertemanan dengan orang luar.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the representation of Javanese ethics and character education values in the Ceprotan traditional ceremony in Sekar Village, Pacitan, and relate them to the context of ethnopedagogy in Javanese language learning. The phenomenon of moral degradation in the era of globalization demands the revitalization of local wisdom as the basis for character building in students. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with an ethnographic approach. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles & Huberman interactive model, which includes data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the Ceprotan traditional ceremony contains fundamental Javanese ethical values, such as gratitude, harmony, respect, and unity of feeling. Ethnopedagogically, these values are represented in the symbolism of cengkir and ritual processes that teach mental toughness and social harmony. The implications of this research offer a framework for integrating local wisdom into Javanese language teaching materials as an effort to strengthen the Pancasila Student Profile, which is contextual and based on regional cultural identity.
