Abstract

This research was a qualitative descriptive research using a semiotic approach. This research aims to analyze the value of character education contained in the symbols in the Surakarta style Javanese bridal paes and its relevance as the Javanese language learning material for elementary school level. The symbols in Javanese bridal paes are a medium for transforming noble values containing Javanese cultural teachings for bridal couples in particular and Javanese society in general, especially the younger generation. This is closely related to character development based on local genius. Therefore, this research tries to describe the symbols in Surakarta style Javanese bridal paes as a manifestation of character education values. Each part in Javanese bridal paes is a representation of local wisdom  intended to be a medium for educating noble character. The main data collection techniques are direct observation, interviews, documentation of Javanese Surakarta style brides which are strengthened by documentation analysis. For the validity of the data, credibility techniques are used which are carried out by: 1) diligent observation, 2) triangulation of methods and sources, 3) peer discussion, 4) adequacy of references. The data validity technique uses theory triangulation and source triangulation. The data analysis technique in this research uses Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic analysis technique. The research results show that each part of the Surakarta style Javanese bridal paes is a symbol that contains noble Javanese cultural values which can be a guide for the bridal couple and relevan for Javanese Language Learning in Elementary Schools.

Abstract

Keaksaraan Fungsional adalah program untuk mengembangkan kemampuan warga belajar dalam menguasai dan menggunakan keterampilan membaca, menulis, berhitung, berfikir, mengamati, mendengar dan berbicara yang berorientasi pada kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui : (1) hubungan antara perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi Program Pendidikan Keaksaraan Fungsional Tingkat Dasar dengan partisipasi ide, (2) hubungan antara perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi Program Pendidikan Keaksaraan Fungsional Tingkat Dasar dengan partisipasi tenaga, (3) hubungan antara perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi Program Pendidikan Keaksaraan Fungsional Tingkat Dasar dengan partisipasi kehadiran. Metode penelitian adalah korelasional. Teknik pengumpulan data angket, dokumentasi dan observasi, analisis data yaitu dengan regresi linear berganda. Hasil dari penelitian partisipasi ide terdapat pada pelaksanaan dan evaluasi Program Pendidikan Keaksaraan Fungsional Tingkat Dasar, partisipasi tenaga terdapat pada perencanaan dan evaluasi Program Pendidikan Keaksaraan Fungsional Tingkat Dasar, dan partisipasi kehadiran terdapat pada pelaksanaan Program Pendidikan Keaksaraan Fungsional Tingkat Dasar.

Abstract

In the 21st century, elementary school teachers need to have skills in designing active learning by implementing technology. Teachers who are able to integrate technology with active learning strategies not only improve their understanding of concepts, but also prepare their students to face future challenges. The activity was carried out to train teachers of Muhammadiyah Elementary Schools in Surakarta in designing active learning and using digital media. The activity was attended by 175 teachers of Muhammadiyah Elementary School in Surakarta. The form of activity is in the form of a workshop with a duration of 40 hours face-to-face and independently. The service team and teachers together learn to implement active learning and create digital learning media. The venue for the implementation at the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta will be from December 2024 to January 2025. The results of the activity were to increase the understanding of Muhammadiyah Elementary School teachers in Surakarta in implementing an active learning model, creating digital learning content, and building a space to store digital learning content called "GaleriMu". The activity succeeded in improving teachers' skills in designing active learning using digital content and the existence of a storage space for digital learning content.

Abstract

Education plays a very important and strategic role in shaping human resources that are productive, innovative, and have personalities under cultural values. In addition to providing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor values to every citizen, education is also used as a tool to transform values that are expected to be beneficial in the life of society, nation, and state [5]. Gender bias is favoring one gender in social life or public policy. Gender bias in education is an educational reality that favors one particular gender, which causes gender inequality. Various forms of gender inequality that occur in various fields of community life are also represented in the world of education. Educational processes and institutions are seen as playing a major role in socializing and preserving the values and perspectives that underlie the emergence of various gender inequalities in society. The concept of education often appears in literary works. One form of literature that contains about education is drama. Drama is a record of everyday events that are projected onto the stage. In line with that [1] mention that Learning in drama is process-oriented, a state of change that occurs in time and space, which happens within double frames of reality and fiction. Drama learning is process-oriented, with changes in time and space, which frame real and fantasy events. Drama is no different from other literary works, such as novels or short stories. It contains certain issues that the author wants to convey to the reader or audience. The object will be studied by the researchers is Nano Riantiarno's Sampek Engtay, a feminist drama or a drama that talks about women. This drama is very thick with the nuances of feminist criticism, namely the marginalization of education. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. In this research, qualitative information is described carefully and analytically. The description includes forms of criticism of the unfair treatment received by women in the field of education. The approach used in this research is feminism. This approach is used in order to interpret the deep meaning of the literary works studied in relation to people's lives. This is taken based on the assumption that basically literary works are the embodiment of people's lives. Thus the interpretation of the meaning in this literary work is a manifestation of that society.

Abstract

This community service program aims to introduce and instill the values ​​of etiquette and politeness in Javanese language for communicating on social media. The partner of this activity is SMP Negeri 2 Surakarta. This training targets school students. One of the reasons for holding the training at this school is because this school has a very large number of students with the condition that almost all of the students use cellphones in their daily lives. The event carried out was a training in etiquette and politeness in communicating using Javanese language on social media conducted by the Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Hibah Grup Riset (PKM HGR-UNS) Tahun 2025 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jawa, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta. The methods used in this community service activity are: (1) expository (explanation), (2) group discussion, and (3) assignments. The results of the activity show that junior high school students have a better understanding of Javanese language ethics in the digital space, and are able to identify and apply appropriate forms of etiquette and politeness in various online communication situations. This activity demonstrates the effectiveness of a local culture-based educational approach in fostering polite and ethical language awareness among the younger generation. Therefore, local wisdom values, such as polite language, need to be continuously internalized in language education, particularly in the context of today's digital communication.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan fenomena kecenderungan berbahasa asing pada mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan langkah-langkah: (1) menyebarkan angket kepada responden yaitu mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia terkait gejala xenoglosofilia, (2) mencatat dan mengumpulkan data yang telah terkumpul dari data angket, (3) Setelah semua data terkumpul, peneliti menganalisis data, (4) klasifikasi dan kategorisasi, (5) penafsiran data, (6) analisis kritis, (7) penyajian hasil, dan (8) penyimpulan. Data penelitian ini merupakan hasil angket yang telah diisi oleh mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan angket yang berisi pertanyaan-pertanyaan. Uji validitas data menggunakan triangulasi teori dengan cara mengaitkan teori-teori yang ada dengan data yang terkumpul. Setelah data terkumpul kemudian dianalisis untuk mendapatkan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdiri dari (1) penyebab penggunaan bahasa asing, (2) sumber pemerolehan bahasa asing, (3) alasan gemar berbahasa asing, (4) tempat pemakaian bahasa asing, (5) xenoglosofilia pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, (6) implikasi dan solusi terhadap fenomena xenoglosofilia. Simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa fenomena xenoglosofilia sudah merambat di tengah-tengah kehidupan generasi muda saat ini, hal ini tidak bisa dibiarkan karena akan merusak eksistensi bahasa Indonesia. Diperlukan upaya konkret untuk mengatasi gejala xenoglosofilia pada generasi muda.

Abstract

Selama ini terdapat kecenderungan bahwa guru belum menyusun soal-soal HOTS yang menguji kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada guru dalam menyusun instrument tes bermuatan HOTS. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan tiga tahapan yakni pre tes, pelatihan dan pendampingan penyusunan instrument tes bermuatan HOTS. Kegiatan ini diselenggarakan di SMP Muhammadiyah Al-Kautsar PK Kartasura pada 2018. Adapun mitra sasaran adalah guru SMP Muhammadiyah Al-Kaustar yang terdiri dari 12 peserta. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa masih terdapat kecenderungan guru menggunakan soal LOTS dan belum memahami cara penyusunan soal HOTS. Terdapat temuan adanya persepsi guru yanf menyatakan bahwa soal haruslah sama persis dengan materi yang diajarkan ke siswa sehingga banyak soal didominasi pilihan ganda yang menguji hafalan siswa semata. Soal-soal yang dituliskan belum memenuhi standar HOTS.

Abstract

Menurunnya literasi baca tulis di kalangan mahasiswa dapat diatasi dengan transformasi penggunaan media baru. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan bagaimana aplikasi Notion digunakan untuk aktivitas pembelajaran; (2) mendeskripsikan bagaimana hasil implementasi aplikasi Notion untuk literasi baca tulis mahasiswa.  Metode deskriptif kualitatif digunakan dengan pendekatan studi pustaka melalui literatur dengan rancangan studi kasus fenomenologis. Adapun objek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa penempuh mata kuliah bahasa Indonesia, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik triangulasi sumber seperti observasi, evaluasi penugasan berbasis proyek, kuesioner, dan dokumentasi. Model interaktif Miles Huberman yang meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Notion dapat diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran dan menunjang literasi di kalangan mahasiswa sebagai media membaca dan menulis berbasis proyek dengan sistem berkelompok.

Abstract

Humans, nature, culture, and creators have an inseparable relationship. In Javanese culture, gratitude is realized through cultural events, such as Bersih Desa (village clean-ups ceremony). A puppet play of Sri Mulih is performed as an expression of gratitude. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The data source is a video of Wayang Purwa play of Sri Mulih. First, the data are reduced and analyzed by discussing the problem. Finally, the data are assessed by using triangulation techniques to obtain data validity. This study found that the religious value within the play is related to the ceremony of Bersih Desa in the Purworejo district. The finding provides a picture of the acculturation of local culture and Islamic teachings because wayang plays are adapted according to the Javanese culture. Manusia, alam, budaya, dan pencipta memiliki hubungan yang tidak bisa dipisahkan. Dalam budaya masyarakat Jawa, rasa syukur diwujudkan dengan acara-acara kebudayaan seperti halnya bersih desa. Lakon wayang kulit Sri Mulih yang dipentaskan sebagai perwujudan rasa syukur masyarakat Jawa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan keyakinan religi masyarakat hubungannya dengan kepercayaan bersih desa menggunakan sarana pertunjukan wayang kulit purwa dengan lakon Sri Mulih. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan tiga tahapan penelitian, yaitu reduksi data, sajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah video pertunjukan wayang purwa lakon Sri Mulih. Data-data dalam sumber data utama direduksi dan dianalisis dengan pembahasan masalah. Terakhir data-data yang diperoleh diuji dengan menggunakan teknik triangulasi untuk mendapat suatu derajat validitas data. Hasil dalam penelitian ini, ditemukan nilai religius dalam lakon tersebut terkait prosesi bersih desa di kabupaten Purworejo. Hasil ini memberikan gambaran akulturasi budaya lokal dan ajaran Islam karena lakon wayang telah diadaptasi sesuai dengan kultur busaya masyarakat Jawa.
