Abstract

ABSTRAK Iklan merupakan salah satu metode pemasaran di masyarakat. Seiring perkembangan zaman, masyarakat berlomba-lomba membuat iklan yang menarik agar dapat menarik minat konsumen untuk membeli produk yang dipasarkan. Salah satunya adalah PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk yang meluncurkan produk kartu seluler ‘Sobat Fren’ dengan tema ‘Nelpon Pakai Fren, Bayarnya Pakai Daun’. Iklan produk ini dinilai menarik karena mengusung tema yang tidak biasa, dengan model yang menyerupai orang telanjang dan mengenakan daun. Beberapa masyarakat menilai iklan ini memiliki gambar yang kurang mendidik, oleh karena itu diperlukan analisa semiotika agar pesan dalam iklan dapat dikaji secara ilmiah. Analisa semiotika yang digunakan adalah teori Barthes dan Sausure karena mampu menyajikan semiotika secara struktural dan disajikan dengan bahasa yang tepat. Adapun hasil yang didapat adalah bahwa iklan ‘Sobat Fren’ meminjam makna gratis dari gambar daun. Tulisan ‘Nelpon pakai Fren, Bayar Pakai Daun’ merupakan anchor yang mempertegas dari keunggulan produk yang banyak menawarkan fasilitas telpon gratis. Tulisan ‘Sobat Fren’ menyugesti masyarakat bahwa produk kartu seluler tersebut bersahabat di masyarakat karena murah. Sedangkan ideologi yang dibangun adalah dengan menggunakan produk ‘Sobat Fren’ orang akan bahagia karena dapat menelfon secara gratis yang disimulasikan dengan gambar model pada iklan. Kata kunci: iklan, Sobat Fren, semiotika, tanda ABSTRACT Advertising is one of the marketing methods in the community. Along with the times, people are competing to make attractive advertisements in order to attract consumers to buy products that are marketed. One of them is PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk, which launched the mobile card product 'Sobat Fren' with the theme ‘Nelpon Pakai Fren, Bayarnya Pakai Daun’. This product advertisement is considered attractive because it carries an unusual theme, with a model that resembles a naked person and wears leaves. Some people consider this ad to have a less educating image, therefore a semiotic analysis is needed so that the message in the ad can be studied scientifically. Semiotic analysis used is the theory of Barthes and Sausure because it is able to present semiotics structurally and presented in an appropriate language. The results obtained are that the advertisement ' Sobat Fren' borrows free meanings from leaf drawings. The writing ‘Nelpon pakai Fren, Bayar Pakai Daun’ is an anchor that emphasizes the superiority of the products that offer many free telephone facilities. The article 'Sobat Fren' suggests the community that the cellular card product is friendly in the community because it is cheap. While the ideology that is built is to use the product 'Sobat Fren' people will be happy because they can call for free which is simulated with a model image on the ad. Abstract

ABSTRAKSunan Drajat merupakan salah satu wisata religi potensial di kota Lamongan dengan total pengunjung mencapai 515 ribu di tahun 2017. Selain itu, hal menarik lainnya adalah adanya ragam hias yang menghiasi kompleks makam yang diperkirakan telah ada pada zaman XVI Masehi. Hadirnya ragam hias di kompleks makam dapat dijadikan sumber inspirasi dalam menciptakan motif batik khas Lamongan. Mengingat sumber inspirasi pembuatan batik Lamongan selama ini masih terbatas pada hasil SDA laut, dan hasil bumi, sedangkan pada objek wisata religi tradisi belum terjamah. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan analisis potensi ragam hias kompleks makam Sunan Drajat sebagai bahan inspirasi pembuatan motif batik khas Lamongan. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis transformasi tradisi AUTOMIC (artefact, technique, utility, material, icon, concept, shape). Adapun tahap-tahapan penyusunan antara lain menentukan transformasi tradisi berupa ragam hias ke dalam modernitas sesuai metode AUTOMIC, menggali makna filosofi ragam hias sebagai soul dari batik, menentukan ornamen utama, pengisi, dan isen sesuai bentuk panel ragam hias, kemudian ornamen tersebut di desain menjadi motif batik. Hasil yang di dapat adalah motif batik yang terinspirasi dari ragam hias kompleks makam memiliki nilai estetis tradisi dan mengandung makna filosofi dari ajaran Sunan Drajat. Manfaat penelitian ini adalah sebagai bahan inspirasi motif batik khas Lamongan berdasarkan ragam hias kompleks makam Sunan Drajat. The presence of decoration in the tomb complex can be used as a source of inspiration in creating batik motifs typical of Lamongan. Considering the source of inspiration for making Lamongan batik so far is still limited to the results of the natural resources of the sea, and the results of the earth, while the traditional religious tourism object is not touched. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the potential of the decorative diversity of the tomb complex of Sunan Drajat as an inspiration for making batik motifs typical of Lamongan. The method used is the analysis of the AUTOMIC tradition transformation (artefact, technique, utility, material, icon, concept, shape). The stages of the arrangement include determining the transformation of tradition in the form of decoration into modernity according to the AUTOMIC method, exploring the philosophical meaning of ornamental diversity as the soul of batik, determining the main ornaments, fillers, and isen according to decorative panel shapes, then the ornaments are designed to be batik motif. The results obtained are batik motifs inspired by the complex decoration of tomb complexes that have aesthetic values ​​and contain philosophical significance from the teachings of Sunan Drajat. Abstract

Sunan Drajat is one of the spreaders of Islam in the northern coast of Java island in the XV - XVI century by utilizing local culture as a medium of da’wah, one of which is in the form of religious symbols contained in decoration. At present, the tomb complex of Sunan Drajat is a religious tourist destination in Lamongan that can increase regional income, with visitors reaching 440 thousand people, in 2016. This study used a qualitative approach with aesthetic analysis, the morphology of Thomas Munro, aesthetic studies of Islam by Al Faruqi, and its meaning was carried out synchronously based on local oral traditions. The results showed that the decoration contained the meaning of Sunan Drajat's teachings and thoughts, namely memangun resep tyasing sasomo (we always make others happy), while the morphology consisted of lines, dots, expressions that formed a pavilion, mountains and tree of life. Aesthetic is achieved by a symmetrical arrangement with a pinch and focus in the center. Thus, the decoration at the main gate of the tomb complex of Sunan Drajat includes the media preaching the teachings of Sunan Drajat

Abstract

Technological developments and creativity have resulted in a wide variety of rapidly evolving packaging designs. One of humanity's basic needs is the fulfillment of drinking water requirements. In the past, people obtained drinking water from the nearest source and then processed (boiled) it. However, today this need is met by drinking water companies. One drinking water manufacturer with unique packaging design is AirAlam. This product has packaging that is different from other products. While most product packaging generally features icons of mountains, water, nature, and logos that clarify the product brand, AirAlam's product highlights a map of Indonesia with details in the form of parang batik motifs. This study will focus on analyzing the design elements of AirAlam's product packaging. The purpose of this study is to obtain information from the visual meaning displayed on AirAlam product packaging. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, with a semiotic approach from Charles Sanders Peirce and Rolland Barthes. The results of the analysis show that the AirAlam packaging design conveys an image of local authenticity, love for Indonesian products, purity, and environmental sustainability. Local authenticity and love for Indonesian products are represented by a map of Indonesia with batik details. Purity is represented by packaging design that has no background (clear) and the use of a single white color in the packaging design. Meanwhile, sustainability is represented by the use of recyclable materials.
