Abstract

This study aims to explore innovations made by local hotels in post-COVID-19 tourism destinations, focusing on innovation typologies, implementation models, and their impact on operational and financial performance. A mixed approach was taken to this study. A qualitative approach was taken to determine the typology of local hotel innovations in Ubud tourism destinations. Data collection in a qualitative approach is carried out through interview activities, with qualitative descriptive analysis in the form of thematic analysis with a deductive approach. While the quantitative approach is carried out to build an innovation model based on customer engagement, employee contribution, the use of technology in creating innovation, and analyzing the influence of innovation on the performance of local hotels in Ubud tourist destinations through survey methods, and data analysis using SEM (Structural Equation Modelling) analysis to analyze structured correlations both relationships between indicators and relationships between variables. The results of this study are expected to provide an in-depth picture of how local hotels in tourism destinations creatively respond to post-COVID-19 challenges through innovation. This finding is expected to provide valuable insights for tourism industry players, governments, and researchers to understand the dynamics of innovation in the face of paradigm shifts in the post-pandemic era. The conclusions shows that Product-Process Innovation has the greatest influence on performance, while Organizational Innovation has the lowest effect on hotel performance.

Abstract

Tourism in Bali, particularly in Badung Regency, drives significant economic growth but also creates challenges related to traffic congestion, greenhouse gas emissions, and environmental sustainability. Sustainable transportation has been identified as a key component of sustainable tourism, yet its implementation and stakeholder perceptions remain underexplored. This exploratory study employed a mixed-methods design, combining a survey of 50 stakeholders (tourists, residents, businesses, and government/NGO representatives) with semi-structured interviews. Quantitative analysis included descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression tests, while qualitative data provided contextual insights. Stakeholders perceived the availability (M = 3.12) and accessibility (M = 3.20) of sustainable transportation as moderate, with higher ratings from businesses and government compared to residents and tourists. Policy support (β = .34, p = .009) and business investment (β = .29, p = .021) emerged as significant enabling factors, while infrastructure limitations (β = –.31, p = .014) and high costs (β = –.28, p = .027) were the most critical constraints. Stakeholders recognized contributions of sustainable transport to competitiveness, particularly in enhancing environmental quality (M = 3.92) and reducing congestion (M = 3.74). The results suggest that while sustainable transportation initiatives exist, their reach remains uneven. Strong policy frameworks and private sector leadership are essential enablers, but adoption is hindered by infrastructure gaps and financial barriers. Stakeholders nevertheless view sustainable transport as central to Bali’s environmental sustainability and long-term competitiveness in the global tourism market.

Abstract

Based on data, there are more than 28 thousand residents in Karangasem, Bali, who live below the poverty line. This poverty occurs because residents who were previously in-volved in the tourism industry cannot meet their basic needs, with the average monthly per capita expenditure below the poverty line. Karangasem was chosen deliberately as a research location because it has the lowest human development index in Bali. The re-search sample was taken randomly from poor households who previously worked in the tourism sector and are now laid off as informants. Further data was collected through structured interviews and observations. The results of data analysis and discussion show that the entrepreneurial welfare project in East Bali identified two strategies for reducing poverty. First, cluster one is a strategy for poor households who are very poor and have a low level of education. In situations of economic and social limitations, it is necessary to channel employment opportunities through a job placement system for this type of house-hold. They are given the opportunity to produce goods for certain companies, involving three parties: poor individuals, companies, and the government. Second, cluster two is a strategy for poor individuals who work independently to increase their income. For entre-preneurial households, are advised to develop their businesses into micro, small and me-dium businesses to increase sales. This strategy focuses on improving quality in the pro-duction, marketing and financing processes. The second cluster strategy is a model of rural community empowerment based on partnerships.

Abstract

The purpose of conducting this research was to analyze the effect of service quality and tourist safety on tourist satisfaction at Tegenungan Waterfall Gianyar Bali. The number of samples used in this study were 65 people. Using accidental sampling method. Collecting data using library research, observation, questionnaires and interviews. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression using the SmartPLS application. The results of this study indicate that service quality has a significant effect on tourist satisfaction. This shows that respondents' perceptions of service quality have a strong correlation with tourist satisfaction when visiting Tegenungan Waterfall Gianyar Bali. Tourist safety has a significant effect on tourist satisfaction, where the tourist safety perceived by respondents in the form of providing an explanation to tourists before entering the waterfall area correlates with perceived tourist satisfaction with a sense of satisfaction with the services provided by the manager of the Tegenungan Waterfall. Abstract

In this study, the objective is to develop an innovative educational model for fostering creativity and innovation in aspiring entrepreneurs using the "learning by doing" approach, specifically through practical business experiences. The aim is to cultivate creativity and innovation among students, equipping them with the skills needed for entrepreneurial endeavors. By integrating students' creativity and innovation into entrepreneurship education, the research aims to instill an entrepreneurial mindset and contribute to reducing the high unemployment rate among educated individuals in Indonesia. This research was carried out at Udayana University's Faculty of Tourism, focusing on alumni who had completed entrepreneurship courses. The study employed a descriptive and verification research approach, with data presented as percentages and detailed descriptions. A purposive sampling technique was utilized, targeting undergraduate students who had taken entrepreneurship courses, resulting in a sample size of 100 individuals. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis using the Lisrel 8.0 software was the chosen analytical tool. The SEM analysis revealed that the t-values for both student creativity (6.80) and student innovation (6.56) exceeded the critical t-value of 1.85 at a 5% error rate. This led to the rejection of the null hypothesis (Ho) and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha).
