Abstract

Stunting caused by chronic malnutrition, can affect physical growth, cognitive development, and the quality of life of children in the future. The activities conducted on December 14 and 16, 2024, include education about healthy and unhealthy foods, fruit satay-making practice, and interactive discussions involving children and their caregivers. The method used is interactive socialization through an educational approach, such as discussions, games, and hands-on practice. This approach is designed to provide children with both theoretical understanding and practical experience regarding the importance of balanced nutrition. The results of the activities show an increase in children's understanding of the concept of nutritious food, the ability to distinguish between healthy and unhealthy food, and enthusiasm for adopting healthy eating habits. Early nutrition education with enjoyable and practical methods is effective in increasing children's awareness of the importance of balanced nutrition to support optimal growth and development while also preventing the risk of stunting.

Abstract

Traditional games play an important role in introducing local culture to children while also supporting their social and emotional development. This article reviews community service at TK Aisyiyah 1 Gumpang, which uses the traditional game Jamuran as a counseling medium to enhance the social-emotional skills of early childhood. This game was chosen because it can encourage social interaction, cooperation, and empathy, while also preserving local culture. The stages of this PkM activity are divided into three: pre-activity involving permits and observations, implementation of activities with Jamuran movement and song training, and post-activity evaluation. The results show that the Jamuran game is effective in building social interaction, reducing solitary behavior, and enhancing children's cooperation. In addition, this game serves as an enjoyable educational tool to instill values such as cooperation and anti-bullying. This article emphasizes the importance of a traditional game-based approach in supporting the holistic development of early childhood, both physically, mentally, and socio-emotionally.

Abstract

The introduction of a clean and healthy lifestyle through tooth brushing is expected to teach children how to brush their teeth correctly and regularly according to the procedure. Brushing teeth is a technique or process of cleaning dirt that can mechanically eliminate bad breath from the mouth using toothpaste and a toothbrush, followed by rinsing with clean water. Thus, the purpose of brushing teeth is a technique that children can perform for control and to prevent bacterial infections in the mouth, so that by brushing their teeth, they do not get cavities and remain white. This community service activity provides an introduction and practice on how to brush teeth to children at TK Aisyiah Ranting 1 Kartasura, which was held for one day on December 14, 2024, located in Dusun IV, Kartasura District, Sukoharjo Regency. The methods used are surveys, interviews, PHBS counseling, tooth brushing practice, and evaluation. The result of this PkM activity is that in addition to being able to brush their teeth correctly, the children can also apply a clean and healthy lifestyle in their daily lives

Abstract

The implementation of sex education for young children is a preventive step to prevent sexual violence, especially amid the increasing cases of child abuse. This community service program was conducted at TK Islam Bakti II Sobokerto, Ngemplak, Boyolali, using educational puppets to introduce which parts of the body can and cannot be touched. This activity involved 23 TK B students and was carried out through the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. This activity uses interactive methods such as watching videos, singing, and hands-on practice with educational puppets. This, program also received full support from early childhood education teachers who were involved in every stage of the activities. The results show that this approach successfully improved children's understanding of their body concepts and how to protect them, while creating an enjoyable learning atmosphere. Educational puppet media has proven to be an effective tool in delivering sex education in an age-appropriate and engaging manner. In conclusion, this program has a positive impact on building children's awareness of self-protection, as well as providing a teaching model that can be adopted by other institutions. The sustainability of this program is expected through the development of broader interactive media and teacher training, thereby strengthening preventive efforts against sexual violence in early childhood.

Abstract

Character education is an essential component in the development of early childhood, playing a role in shaping morals, social skills, and self-confidence. This community service aims to socialize character education through the media of the cartoon films " Bocah Hutan Mowgli dan Goldilocks " at KB Ceria, Kartasura, Sukoharjo. This program uses methods of exemplification, habituation, and storytelling by utilizing educational films as tools to instill moral values in children aged 3-4 years. The activity begins with a film screening, followed by an interactive discussion to understand the moral message in the story, as well as creative activities such as drawing and mimicking sounds. Evaluation was conducted through observation and Q&A to measure the improvement in vocabulary, story comprehension, and children's social-emotional skills. The results show that cartoon films are effective in capturing children's attention, strengthening literacy, and instilling positive character values such as courage, honesty, and responsibility. This program has a positive impact on building children's character through an engaging and age-appropriate approach. Further development with media variations and parental involvement is expected to expand the impact of this activity in the future.
