Abstract

Permintaan terhadap daging domba di Indonesia terus meningkat, namun produktivitas di tingkat peternakan rakyat masih rendah akibat efisiensi pakan yang belum optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi performa biologis dan kelayakan ekonomi penggemukan domba jantan lokal melalui pemberian Complete Feed berbentuk pellet secara ad libitum selama 15 minggu. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan eksperimen satu perlakuan dan dianalisis secara deskriptif-kuantitatif terhadap sepuluh ekor domba jantan lokal berumur 6–8 bulan. Parameter yang diamati meliputi konsumsi pakan, pertambahan berat badan harian (PBBH), rasio konversi pakan (feed conversion ratio/FCR), dan selisih pendapatan bersih setelah dikurangi biaya pakan (income over feed cost/IOFC). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata PBBH mencapai 129,4 ± 8,72 g/ekor/hari dengan nilai FCR sebesar 8,36, menunjukkan bahwa dibutuhkan 8,36 kg pakan untuk menghasilkan 1 kg pertambahan bobot badan. Seluruh individu menghasilkan IOFC positif dengan rata-rata Rp 377.967/ekor, atau sekitar 34,3% di atas titik impas. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem pakan kombinasi tersebut mampu memberikan performa pertumbuhan yang stabil sekaligus margin keuntungan yang layak bagi peternak rakyat. Sistem ini direkomendasikan untuk diterapkan secara luas dengan mengutamakan pemanfaatan bahan pakan lokal guna meningkatkan efisiensi dan keberlanjutan agribisnis peternakan domba. Kata kunci: Domba Lokal, Complete Feed, Ad Libitum, Konversi Pakan, Efisiensi Biaya Pakan, Peternakan Rakyat

Abstract

Depression and anxiety are common mental health issues affecting an 300 million people globally, with up to 13% of postpartum mothers experiencing depression and 19,8% with higher risks. These conditions can negatively impact both mother and child. The intake of natural antioxidants found in fruits has the potential to reduce these symptoms. This study aimed to analyze the effect of fruit consumption as a natural source of antioxidants on symptoms of depression and anxiety in postpartum mothers with children aged 1–12 months. The study was conducted from June-July 2024 in Bojong Rawalumbu, Bekasi City, using a quasi-experimental design with 64 respondents (28 in the treatment group and 29 in the control group completing the study). The treatment group received fruit interventions for 21 days, while the control group received no intervention. Depression symptoms were measured using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), anxiety levels were measured using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), and fruit consumption compliance was monitored using a provided form. The results showed a reduction in the mean depression score (difference of 2.00) and anxiety score (difference of 4.18) in the treatment group (p = 0.0001 for both). In conclusion, adequate fruit consumption may reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety in postpartum mothers with children aged 1–12 months.
