Abstract

This study explores the values of moral education as reflected in the Qur’an, which serves as the primary source of Islamic teachings and ethical guidance. The research problem arises from the reality that contemporary moral decline among society, particularly among the younger generation, often indicates a weak internalization of Qur’anic values. The aim of this study is to identify, analyze, and describe the educational principles of akhlak contained in the Qur’an, as well as their relevance to current educational contexts. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a literature-based approach, collecting data from classical and contemporary tafsir works, scholarly articles, and relevant references. The analysis was conducted through content analysis, focusing on verses that emphasize moral values such as honesty, respect, responsibility, patience, and sincerity. The results show that Qur’anic verses provide a holistic framework for moral education, highlighting the integration between faith, worship, and social interaction. These findings suggest that moral education based on the Qur’an is not only normative but also practical, offering guidance for character formation, especially in facing the challenges of modern society. This study contributes to the reinforcement of Islamic education by promoting Qur’anic moral values as a solution to address ethical crises in today’s world.

Abstract

This study examines the challenges in the learning process of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the digital era, particularly those related to improving teachers' competencies, the relevance of learning materials, and students’ preparedness in facing technological advancements. The method used is a literature review with content analysis and a hermeneutic approach to interpret the meaning of various source materials. The findings indicate that the use of digital technology has transformed the way PAI is taught, shifting from traditional methods to the use of digital tools. However, obstacles remain, such as low digital literacy, limited access to technology, and the risks of internet misuse. Therefore, efforts are needed to enhance teachers' capabilities, develop contextually appropriate digital learning materials, and strengthen students’ digital literacy so that PAI can continue to effectively shape the character and spiritual values of the younger generation.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) does not only teach Islamic values to students but also guides them in developing critical thinking skills to address problems encountered in daily life. The objective of this study is to examine how the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model is implemented in PAI instruction and how it impacts the development of students’ critical thinking skills. This research employs a qualitative approach. Various scientific literature, journals, books, and relevant policy documents were analyzed. To ensure the validity of the results, data were analyzed using content analysis through the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Additionally, source triangulation was employed. The study indicates that PBL can enhance students’ abilities to analyze information, evaluate arguments, draw rational conclusions, and make informed decisions. PBL also improves students’ engagement, motivation, and learning autonomy. These findings confirm that the use of PBL in PAI not only enhances students’ theoretical understanding of Islamic values but also teaches critical thinking skills that are relevant for practical application in daily life. This research provides a conceptual foundation for PAI teachers to develop more active, collaborative, and creative teaching strategies.
