Abstract

This study aims to improve speaking skills through the application of thematic approach in fourth grade students of SD Negeri 192 Maluku Tengah. This study uses the type of class action research (PTK) using 2 cycles in which there are planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The results showed that based on the results of the first cycle test value obtained 68.20 or sufficient category, while the second cycle test results of 84.53 or very good value category. This can prove an increase from cycle I to Cycle II. The increase shows that the learning of speaking skills in students is very good.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui upaya peningkatan minat baca melalui kegiatan literasi baca tulis bagi siswa kelas V SD Kristen Dobo, Kabupaten Kepulauan Aru.Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, waka kurikulum, guru kelas, dan siswa kelas VB. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan teori dari Miles dan Huberman yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, pemaparan data dan penarikan kesimpulan,teknik keabsahan data dan triangulasi data. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan fokus penelitian yang pertama yaitu upaya peningkatkan minat baca siswa di SD Kristen Dobo. Terdiri atas tiga tahap yaitu: (1) tahap perencanaan meliputi; menyusun kegiatan membaca, menentukan target pencapaian, meningkatkan sumber daya guru, menciptakan lingkungan yang nyaman untuk membaca, memilih bacaan sesuai dengan usia, kemampuan dan minat, menempatkan buku pada tempat yang mudah dijangkau dan menyediakan perpustakaan yang memadai. (2)Tahap pelaksanaan meliputi; menerapkan jam wajib baca, memberi motivasi, mengajarkan pada siswa untuk saling bertukar buku dengan teman, memberikan penghargaan (reward) untuk siswa yang gemar membaca, menjadikan buku sebagai pusat informasi (3)Tahap evaluasi meliputi; ketika proses kegiatan membaca berlangsung, evaluasi berkala setiap bulan. Kemudian fokus penelitian kedua tentang implikasi peningkatkan minat baca siswa di SD Kristen Dobo adalah siswa mampu malaksanakan kegiatan membaca secara fokus, siswa mampu malaksanakan kegiatan membaca secara aktif di kelas, siswa mampu menyimpulkan hasil dari membaca, siswa mampu memberikan tanggapan terhadap buku yang dibaca, siswa mampu melaksanakan kegiatan membaca dengan rasa senang tanpa keterpaksaan, siswa mampu meminjam buku bacaan dan siswa mampu membuat karya tulis

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan berbicara siswa di kelas IV MI AL Huzdaifa Dobo dengan metode bermain peran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research). Lokasi penelitian adalah MI.AL.Huzdaifa Dobo Kabupaten Kepulauan Aru. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV MI AL.Huzdaifa Dobo dengan jumlah siswa 21 orang. Untuk sampel penelitian diambil 9 orang dengan rincian 3 orang dengan nilai tertinggi, 3 orang dengan nilai sedang dan 3 orang dengan nilai terendah. Penelitian ini menggunakan empat tahap, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Data yang dieroleh dalam penelitian ini akan dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis kuantitatif dan analisis kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan metode bermin peran dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV MI AL Huzdaifa Dobo. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan terjadinya peningkatan persentase aktivitas belajar siswa, hasil tes keterampilan berbicara siswa dan nilai ketuntasan siswa berdasarkan KKM. Nilai persentase aktivitas belajar siswa di pertemuan 1 Siklus I adalah 58,56% meningkat di pertemuan 2 Siklus I menjadi 66,67%. Nilai persentase aktivitas belajar siswa di pertemuan 1 Siklus II adalah 75% meningkat di pertemuan 2 Siklus II menjadi 81,25%. Nilai rata-rata tes keterampilan berbicara siswa pada Siklus I adalah sebesar 70,56 meningkat di Siklus II menjadi 77,22. Nilai ketuntasan siswa di Siklus I sebesar 66,67% meningkat pada Siklus II menjadi 88,89%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement in listening skills using audio-visual learning media in fourth-grade students at SD Inpres 33 Ambon. The research method used in this study was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The results of the study showed that based on the initial test results, which were 59.46 or classified as adequate, there was an improvement in the results of the first cycle test to 65.21, also classified as adequate, and in the results of the second cycle test, the score obtained was 83.61, classified as good. This demonstrates an improvement from the initial test to Cycle II. This improvement indicates that listening comprehension learning using audio-visual learning media among fourth-grade students at SD Inpres 33 Ambon can be successfully implemented.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of reading comprehension skills through the RADEC (Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain and Create) learning model in fifth-grade students at SD Inpres 33 Ambon. This study uses a classroom action research (CAR) design with 18 fifth-grade students at SD Inpres 33 Ambon as the research subjects. The results of the study indicate that reading comprehension learning through the RADEC (Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain and Create) learning model can improve the reading comprehension skills of fifth-grade students at SD Inpres 33 Ambon.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at Poka 1 Elementary School through the implementation of the Role Playing learning model. The background of the study is the low speaking skills of students, characterized by a lack of confidence, imprecise pronunciation, and minimal variation in intonation and expression. The study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with two cycles. Twenty students participated. The instruments used included a speaking skills test, observation sheets, and documentation. Each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed an improvement in students' speaking skills. The average score in the pre-cycle was 62%, increasing to 69% in Cycle I and 90% in Cycle II. Improvements occurred in the aspects of topic development, intonation, pronunciation accuracy, and expression. The study concluded that the implementation of the Role Playing model effectively improved students' speaking skills. This model is recommended as an alternative strategy for learning Indonesian in elementary schools

Abstract

This research is motivated by students' low reading ability and interest in understanding the contents of the text, which is reflected in learning outcomes that have not reached the minimum completion criteria. This study aims to strengthen the reading comprehension skills of fifth-grade elementary school students by utilizing digital comic media, which integrates text and images in an intriguing and meaningful way. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) was carried out in two cycles, where each cycle consists of the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 23 fifth-grade students at State Elementary School 1 Poka in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation, then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results indicated a substantial improvement in students' reading comprehension skills in every cycle. The average pre-test score was 48.68 with a completion percentage of only 13%. After the implementation of cycle I, the average increased to 63.03 (43% completion) and reached 76.51 with 100% classical completion in cycle II. This improvement occurred in all aspects of comprehension, including character identification, story content comprehension, and message interpretation. As a major contribution, this study demonstrates that the use of digital comics has proven effective in improving students' reading comprehension learning outcomes, as well as fostering students' interest in reading and active participation in the learning process. Digital comics are suggested as a novel approach to mitigate the issue of inadequate reading comprehension skills in elementary education.

Abstract

The abstract nature of storytelling and a lack of engaging learning media often lead to low writing skills among elementary school students. At Elementary School 2 Poka, students faced significant challenges in organizing storylines and developing ideas, as evidenced by low initial test scores. This study aims to enhance short story writing skills through the utilization of audiovisual media in Indonesian language learning. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design consisting of two cycles, each comprising planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. There were 25 fourth-grade students in the study. Data was collected through classroom observations, short story writing tests, and documentation, then analyzed using mixed descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The indicator of success was set at 85% of students reaching the minimum mastery criterion of > 70. The findings revealed a progressive improvement in students' performance. The average score went up from 47.6 in the pre-test to 67.6 in Cycle I and then to 81.2 in Cycle II. Correspondingly, classical completeness increased significantly from 24% at the baseline to 52% in Cycle I, finally achieving 88% in Cycle II. The integration of audiovisual media effectively assisted students in visualizing story elements, structuring coherent plots, and refining their diction. This study demonstrates that audiovisual media is an effective pedagogical tool to boost interest, motivation, and creative writing skills. These results provide a practical reference for elementary educators to adopt multimedia-based strategies to overcome barriers in literacy education.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability to listen to fairy tales in fourth-grade students at Elementary School 2 Ambon, which is indicated by the students' failure to achieve the Minimum Completion Criteria in the Indonesian Language subject. The main objective of this research is to improve students' ability to listen to fairy tales through the implementation of audio-visual media. We conduct Classroom Action Research (CAR) in two cycles. The research subjects consisted of 20 fourth-grade students at Elementary School 2 Ambon. The research procedures in each cycle include the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The study's findings demonstrate that the utilization of audio-visual media significantly enhances students' listening skills by facilitating the visualization of tangible characters and narrative settings. The effectiveness is evidenced by a significant increase in the classical average score, from the pre-cycle condition of 48.9% (very poor category) increasing to 58.1% in cycle I and reaching 78% in cycle II, which is included in the good category. At the end of cycle II, all students (100%) successfully achieved the minimum completion criteria of ≥ 70 with improvements in the aspects of content understanding (29%), identification of intrinsic elements (23.95%), and moral messages (25.05%). This study provides a practical contribution for teachers in innovating the use of technology-based learning media to optimize students' language competence at the elementary school level.

Abstract

The results of the 2022 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) show that Indonesia's reading literacy score is only 359 points, far below the OECD average of 476 points. Similar problems were also found at Kaiwatu Christian Elementary School, particularly among fourth-grade students who had difficulty understanding the content of the reading material, determining the main ideas, and retelling the content of the text they had read. This study aims to improve the reading literacy of fourth-grade students at Kaiwatu Christian Elementary School through the application of the Cooperative Learning model. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, which is carried out in two cycles, including the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 17 fourth-grade students at Kaiwatu Christian Elementary School in Southwest Maluku Regency. The research instruments used included tests and observation sheets with data collection techniques through observation, tests, and documentation. The success indicator was set at a minimum of 75% of students achieving a score of 65 according to the KKTP standard. The results of the study indicate that the application of the Cooperative Learning model can significantly improve students' reading literacy. At the beginning of the pre-cycle, the average score of students was only 60 with a mastery rate of 18% or 3 students. In Cycle I, the average score remained at 60, but the number of students in the “Poor” category decreased from 35% to 12%. A significant improvement occurred in Cycle II, with the average score increasing to 80 and the mastery rate reaching 100% or 17 students. The improvement was comprehensive, covering cognitive, psychomotor, and affective aspects. It can be concluded that the application of the Cooperative Learning model is proven to be effective in improving the reading literacy of fourth-grade students at Kaiwatu Christian Elementary School ABSTRAK Hasil Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) tahun 2022 menunjukkan bahwa skor literasi membaca Indonesia hanya mencapai 359 poin, jauh di bawah rata-rata negara OECD sebesar 476 poin. Permasalahan serupa juga ditemukan di SD Kristen Kaiwatu, khususnya pada siswa kelas IV yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami isi bacaan, menentukan gagasan pokok, dan menceritakan kembali isi teks yang telah dibaca. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi baca siswa kelas IV SD Kristen Kaiwatu melalui penerapan model Cooperative Learning. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 17 siswa kelas IV SD Kristen Kaiwatu Kabupaten Maluku Barat Daya. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan meliputi tes dan lembar observasi dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Indikator keberhasilan ditetapkan apabila minimal 75% siswa mencapai nilai 65 sesuai standar KKTP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Cooperative Learning dapat meningkatkan literasi baca siswa secara signifikan. Pada kondisi awal pra-siklus, rata-rata nilai siswa hanya mencapai 60 dengan persentase ketuntasan 18% atau 3 siswa. Pada Siklus I, rata-rata nilai tetap 60 namun jumlah siswa kategori Kurang menurun dari 35% menjadi 12%. Peningkatan signifikan terjadi pada Siklus II dengan rata-rata nilai meningkat menjadi 80 dan ketuntasan mencapai 100% atau 17 siswa. Peningkatan terjadi secara komprehensif meliputi aspek kognitif, psikomotor, dan afektif. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Cooperative Learning terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi baca siswa kelas IV SD Kristen Kaiwatu..
