Abstract

Abstract - Southeast Sulawesi, as one of the Provinces in Indonesia, has cultural artifacts that serve as diverse reflections of its culture and need to be preserved to ensure their continuity for future generations. There are four major indigenous ethnic groups in Southeast Sulawesi, namely Tolaki, Muna, Buton, Moronene, and Bajo, which represent the cultural diversity of the region. These ethnic groups have traditional houses that serve as cultural hubs, preserving cultural values and acting as iconic representations of the local culture in Southeast Sulawesi. The development of metaverse technology, a tangible proof of recent technological advancements, is known for its ability to create spatial environments in virtual reality. The urgency of this research arises from the lack of community interest in traditional houses, as evidenced by the eclectic and minimalist architectural designs, as well as the threat of extinction faced by traditional houses in Southeast Sulawesi. This study aims to preserve traditional houses in Southeast Sulawesi by integrating them with metaverse technology, enabling the transmission of cultural values to future generations. The research will employ a qualitative descriptive method. Additionally, this research aims to fill the gaps in previous studies by introducing metaverse technology as a groundbreaking innovation in addressing the threat of cultural artifact extinction in Southeast Sulawesi province. Keywords : Metaverse, Artifact, Preserving, Architectural.

Abstract

Coastal communities like the Bajo people in Tiworo Tengah District, West Muna Regency, face increasing environmental challenges due to climate change and rising sea levels. The traditional stilt houses they inhabit are becoming inadequate in adapting to these conditions, negatively affecting the settlement's functionality and image. This research aims to enhance the image of the Bajo settlement area by introducing the concept of the amphibious house. This dwelling design can float during flooding and return to its base when water recedes. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with a rationalistic architectural approach, incorporating field observations, documentation, interviews, and literature studies. The research focuses on the settlement's spatial, physical, and visual aspects to identify the existing conditions and the potential for improvement. The findings reveal that the current Bajo settlement lacks adaptation to environmental dynamics and exhibits a declining aesthetic and functional image. The amphibious house concept offers a culturally sensitive and environmentally adaptive solution that aligns with the socio-economic conditions and traditions of the Bajo community. The integration of amphibious structures enhances the livability, safety, and visual appeal of the settlement while preserving the unique maritime identity of the Bajo people. This research implies that combining vernacular architecture with innovative, adaptive design strategies can effectively address environmental vulnerability in coastal communities, offering a sustainable solution for similar contexts across Indonesia and beyond.

Abstract

Abstract

Tourism involves individual or group travel to enjoy the beauty of an object or tourist attraction. The rapid development of tourism in Wakatobi Regency has encouraged me to highlight one of the destinations, namely Lake Sombano, which is famous for its natural and well-maintained environmental sustainability. Lake Sombano Tourism is located near Sombano Village, Kaledupa District, Wakatobi Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, which is not far from residential areas. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method by collecting, analyzing primary and secondary data related to the title, literature studies, comparative studies and observations. The circulation pattern that will be used in the area is a linear and radial circulation pattern in the form of a series of spaces, branching, then also spreading from one point to form aesthetics in the area and also for the comfort of road users of visitors. In planning the Lake Sombano Tourism Object, the design principle used is the ecological concept in landscape design that is friendly to the surrounding environment and uses materials in accordance with the ecological concept as the main material, and this is a solution to the design of the Lake Sombno Tourism Object on Keledupa Island, Wakatobi Regenc.
