The aims of this research are to analyze and find the effect of permissive parenting style on the main character’s emotion and behavior reflected in Greta Gerwig’s’ Lady Bird (2017). In this research, researcher analyzes the psychological condition of the main character. Then the researcher explains the effect of permissive parenting style on the main character reflected in Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird (2017). The object and primary data of this thesis is the movie entitled Lady Bird (2017). The researcher uses Parenting Style by Diana Baumrind and Psychoanalysis by Sigmund Freud as the grounded theory. This research is descriptive qualitative research. As the result, the researcher found that the effect of permissive parenting style on the main character is lack self-discipline, unable to control emotion, hard to change bad habit, being impulsive, and the vulnerable to delinquency, substance and alcohol abuse. By that finding, it is proven that the effect of permissive parenting style can affect the emotions and behavior of the main character in this film.

The purpose of this study is to see the condition of British society in the early 20th Century reflected in D.H. Lawrence’s The Virgin and the Gypsy. The social condition here is related to the reflection of different class-level social life. There are two aims of this study, the first aim is to identify the social condition of England in the early twentieth century depicted in the novel, and the second is to find the social criticism implied through some characterization of the characters in the novel. This research uses a sociological approach with mixed-method analysis. The method used is library research since the thesis deals with a novel. The main data was collected from The Virgin and The Gipsy novel; while the supporting data were collected from internet pages; and other books related to the subject matter. The research finding is that the England social condition was marked by four characteristics, namely: the existence of class distinction, the rise of the middle class, the loss of the nobility's power, and the influence of position on social status. In addition, through the representation of the characters in the novel, the author tries to criticize the way the different classes of people in building a relationship with each other and to criticize the social treatment and judgment toward the lower-class people. During the early twentieth century, the gap between the rich and the poor was obvious and it influences the way people built a relationship in society.

This research aims to analyze haphephobia represented in the main character of the drama series entittled I am not a Robot (2017). The are two formulations in this research. First, how are the symptoms of haphephobia reflected in Kim Min Kyu in “I am not a Robot” drama series (2017) and how does Kim Min Kyu overcome as the sufferer of haphephobia. The researchers use qualitative methods to describe and explain the data. The researchers collect data by watching movies and reading subtitles from the drama I am not a Robot. In this study the researcher used theory of Sigmund Freud. The results of the study that the researcher found many symptoms related to haphephobia such as being fear of human touch, and panic attack, body shaking or tremors, dizzy, nauseous, heartbeat pounding, fast or short breathing, and crying. The main character has three ways to overcome haphephobiareflected in the movie such as psychotherapy, administration drugs, relaxation technique.

This study aims to analyze how the deaf family affects the psychological of the major character in Coda (2021) and the major character's struggle to overcome her psychological condition in Coda (2021). The study uses a descriptive qualitative method to analyze the film entitled Coda, directed by Sian Heder and produced by Fabrice Gianfermi, Philippe Rousselet, Jerôme Seydoux, and Patrick Wachsberger in 2021 as the objective research. The collecting data of the research method includes watching and reading, identifying, and selecting. The data of the research method is displayed, analyzed, and explained. The researcher analyzes the data by using Sigmund Freud's theory of Psychoanalysis to analyze the data by displaying, explaining, and interpreting it. The result of the study are the representation of the deaf family's influence on the major character's psychology in the movie Coda (2021), the deaf family's influence on Ruby's psychology includes components such as id, ego, and super-ego. In addition, this study identifies various forms of anxiety and ego defense mechanisms experienced by Ruby; and the major character struggles to overcome her psychological condition. This study includes the major character's way of dealing with her psychological problems.

This study attempts to examine how the 2019 David Michod film "The King" depicts revolt and the monarchical order. The film tells the tale of Prince Hal, who succeeds his father, King Henry IV, as King Henry V. Hal had to deal with a number of difficulties as a young monarch, such as disagreements with disobedient noblemen. Qualitative approaches are the primary tool used in this study. The 2019 film "The King" serves as the primary source of data. The process of gathering data involved reading, observing, recognizing, categorizing, and choosing pertinent information. As part of the data analysis process, the data were presented, clarified, and interpreted using conflict theory. According to the findings, the film portrays the monarchical system of medieval Europe, in which the king, who holds the throne for successive generations, possesses ultimate power. The film also depicts insurrection brought on by dissatisfaction with the king's choices. In addition, the movie looks at how unrest could be sparked by instability and discontent inside the royal circle.

This research aims to analyze : (1) the temperament of the characters in the American and Korean versions of the film Little Women, (2) the comparison of human temperaments in the American and Korean versions of the film Little Women. The study uses a descriptive qualitative method to analyze the objective of the research, which is Little Women (2019) American movie directed by Greta Gerwig, and Little Women (2022) Korean drama directed by Kim Hee Won. The researcher analyzes the data by using a Comparative Literature Study with the Human Temperament theory by Immanuel Kant. The result of the study : (1) the characters’ temperament of soul presented in the Little Women (2019) movie and Little Women (2022) Korean drama is Choleric Temperament in characters Jo March and Oh In-Kyung, Phlegmatic Temperament in the character Meg March and Oh In-Hye, Melancholic Temperament in character Beth March and Oh In-Joo, and Sanguinis Temperament in character Amy March; (2) the comparison of the characters’ temperament of the Korean drama Little Women (2022) is inversely proportional to the characters’ temperament of the film Little Women (2019). This is mainly due to the very different backgrounds in both. The film Little Women (2019) is set in the 1980s, whereas the Korean drama Little Women (2022) is set in the present age. With such different socio-cultural conditions, the depiction of the human temperament in the scenes is very different.

Abstract The studies on Oscar Wilde’s fairy tales are mostly concern to reveal their moral values since fairy tales are usually written for children. Some researchers consider that fairy tales with their imaginative languages carry only a narrow or simple message to educate children with the result that make some of them reluctant to put it seriously as an object of research. Rather, this library research concern to reveal Oscar Wilde’s world view and the hidden message lied behind the symbolic language meaning in both The Start Child and The Selfish Giant Fairy tales. This research applies the semiotic and genetic structuralism approach. In analyzing the data, the researcher uses the descriptive qualitative method. The result of the study shows that both Oscar Wilde The Star Child and The Selfish Giants carry more than just moral values suitable for children, but some deep lessons for adults. Both of the fairy tales convey Wilde's camouflage confession of life in which he regrated his bad action and his losing hope condition when he has to experience bankruptcy and lived in prison. The result of the study also shows that both the fairy tales present important moral value, that is to show the readers the importance of sharing, caring, respect, and self-evaluation to be a better individual and to live life to the fullest. Abstrak Penilitian terhadap fairy tales karya Oscar Wilde kebanyakan ditujukan untuk mengungkap nilai-nilai moral yang ada didalamnya saja. Hal ini dikarenakan fairy tales pada dasarnya ditulis untuk anak-anak. Kebanyakan para peneliti mengganggap fairy tales hanya mengandung nilai-nalai moral yang sangat sederhana sehingga sehingga banyak peneliti yang merasa enggan untuk menjadikannya bahan kajian yang serius. Berbeda dengan penelitian lain, penelitian Pustaka ini difokuskan untuk mengungkap pandangan dunia Oscar Wilde dan pesan moral yang sebenarnya ingin disampaikan melalui Bahasa-bahasa simbolik yang digunakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan semiotic dan genetic strukturalisme, sedangkan dalam menganalisis data, peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dua fairy tales The Star Child dan The Selfish Giant tidak hanya sekedar mengandung pesan yang cocok untuk anak-anak, akan tetapi juga mengandung pelajaran yang dalam untuk orang dewasa. Kedua fairy tales tersebut menyampaikan kamuflase pengakuan diri Wilde karena Tindakan buruknya dalam hidup dan kehilangan harapannya Ketika ia mengalami kebangkrutan dan hidup dalam penjara. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan pelajaran moral pada pembaca tentang pentingnya berbagi, berempati, menghormati, dan mengevaluasi diri untuk menjadi individu yang lebih baik. This descriptive qualitative research aims to examine how The House of Dragon Movie represent complex issues in political marriage practice. By using sociological theory and close textual analysis, this research examines how the movie presents political practice and how the effect of patriarchal system in political marriage over women’s life. The film is indeed portrayed the condition of people, especially the ones who belong to high classes or powerful society in confronting political marriage. The research finding shows that political marriage is a common practice in classical era, especially in royal or high classes family, to secure their belonging, status, or power. The others finding are: 1) political marriage is usually set since the children of royal family or high classes society are still child; 2) patriarchal system often become the most influence to make political marriage practice happen; 3) political marriage under the effect of patriarchal system brings hardship for women in many aspects of life.

This study examines the portrayal of individuals with disabilities in Michael Gracey's film The Greatest Showman, with a particular focus on the potential elements of human disability exploitation. The film, set in the 19th century, follows the life of P.T. Mr. Barnum and his creation of the Mr. Barnum & Bailey Circus. While celebrated for its vibrant musical numbers and inspirational themes, The Greatest Showman has faced scrutiny for its representation of characters with physical differences. This abstract explores the film's use of stereotypes, the narrative roles assigned to characters with disabilities, and the balance between empowerment and exploitation. By delving into the historical context, audience perception, and real-world impact, this analysis aims to provide a comprehensive examination of how the film handles the delicate subject of disability and whether it contributes to a nuanced portrayal or inadvertently perpetuates exploitative tropes. The abstract also considers the filmmaker's intentions and the broader implications of such portrayals on societal attitudes towards individuals with disabilities.
