<![CDATA[Permasalahan yang ingin diungkap dalam penelitian ini mencakup tiga hal yaitu, diantaranya : bagaimanakah interaksi sosial yang terjalin antara warga penganut kejawen dan penganut islam tradisional yang ada di Dukuh Mandalika? dan apakah faktor yang menjadi penyebab munculnya konflik sosial yang terjadi diantara mereka?. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian lapangan (field study), sedangkan untuk menganalisis permasalahan menggunakan metode deskriptif analitik. Kesimpulan yang didapat, bahwa dalam berinteraksi, dua kelompok masyarakat yang berbeda pandangan hidup tampak lebih banyak mengalami konflik sosial daripada hidup rukun. Sedangkan beberapa hal yang dapat merekatkan proses interaksi kedua kelompok tersebut lebih mengacu pada kondisi normatif yang didasari oleh aturan pemerintah, ataupun konsensus tertentu yang ada di masyarakat tersebut.]]>

<![CDATA[The research aimed to study how did mobile-phone were used for teaching speaking in intercultural education? and was the use of mobile phone for teaching speaking in intercultural education effective? Intercultural competence could be seen in the teaching of speaking since the students had to reflect their ideas and opinions orally. Thus, the speaking ability would be much supported by intercultural education. To reach this, the use of technology-based media like mobile-phone in teaching speaking was needed to make it easier and more interesting. In the past decade, several studies have sought to determine the use of technology in education; however, in the university context, the issues of mobile phone used for teaching speaking in intercultural education had not been discussed extensively. The research employed explanatory sequential mix-method research. The instrument of the research was an observation, questionnaire, and test. The research population was 40 students of the fifth semester of the English Education Program of Purworejo Muhammadiyah University. The finding shows that mobile phone is used as the primary tool to access the material and learning platform. Using mobile phones, the student’s speaking ability is improved by 18,3%. In addition, the finding shows that the use of mobile phones for teaching speaking in intercultural education is effective to help the teacher in delivering the material and boosting the students’ motivation to speak.]]>

<![CDATA[This article aims to know the pronunciation teaching process through an English song. Also to know the difficultness which students feel. Pronunciation is important for a student because to know what the meaning of the song we must pronoun the right word, as far as I know, what te different pronoun had different meanings whereas the word is the same. This article uses qualitative methods to take some samples in the first semester students of the English education program. Some sample pronoun some words that on the song what I choose the song "a whole new world" and "diamond". The students can receive what the teacher teaches. Whereas some of them get trouble but they learn so enthusiasm. The students find difficulties in pronouncing the words containing fricatives consonants. Fricatives consonants are consonants that are made when we squeeze air through a small hole or gap into our mouth.]]>

<![CDATA[This study is aimed to analyze: (1) the PTSD of the main character presented in Anthony Russo’s “Cherryâ€, (2) the effect of PTSD toward the main character's life reflected in Anthony Russo's “Cherryâ€. The study uses descriptive qualitative method to analyze the film. The collecting data of the research method includes watching and reading, identifying, classifying, and selecting. The analyzing data of the research method by used displaying, explaining, and interpreting. The result of the study: (1) the PTSD of the main character presented in Anthony Russo’s “Cherry†such as experiencing and witnessing a past event that was unpleasant and frightening and appeared accompanied by symptoms such as re-traumatic and hyperarousal; (2) the effects of PTSD toward the main character's life in the form of effect on mental health, effect on physical health, and effect on quality of life.]]>

<![CDATA[This study examines the portrayal of individuals with disabilities in Michael Gracey's film The Greatest Showman, with a particular focus on the potential elements of human disability exploitation. The film, set in the 19th century, follows the life of P.T. Mr. Barnum and his creation of the Mr. Barnum & Bailey Circus. While celebrated for its vibrant musical numbers and inspirational themes, The Greatest Showman has faced scrutiny for its representation of characters with physical differences. This abstract explores the film's use of stereotypes, the narrative roles assigned to characters with disabilities, and the balance between empowerment and exploitation. By delving into the historical context, audience perception, and real-world impact, this analysis aims to provide a comprehensive examination of how the film handles the delicate subject of disability and whether it contributes to a nuanced portrayal or inadvertently perpetuates exploitative tropes. The abstract also considers the filmmaker's intentions and the broader implications of such portrayals on societal attitudes towards individuals with disabilities.]]>

<![CDATA[The miniseries Self Made depicts Black women's empowerment, intersectionality, and entrepreneurship. The study examines how the series depicts Sarah Breedlove's socio-economic hardships as she overcomes racial, gender, and class oppression to become America's first self-made Black female millionaire through qualitative analysis of key scenes and dialogues. The study uses Black feminist theory and intersectionality to show how Sarah's entrepreneurial career empowers Black women by questioning beauty norms and providing economic opportunity. Analysis shows how the series criticizes racism and misogyny while glorifying resistance and communal cohesion. The analysis also highlights the series' relevance to racial and gender equality discourse in capitalist economies. The study shows how cultural representations like Self Made may drive social change and help us comprehend Black female entrepreneurs' particular obstacles by focusing on their intersectional experiences. This research advances media studies, feminist theory, and African American cultural history by demonstrating entrepreneurship's transformative capacity to empower.]]>

<![CDATA[This library research paper aims to reveal the author’s world view about American cowboy/cowgirl and the American frontier life. The subject of the study is a novel entitled A Million Ways to Die in the West written by Seth MacFarlane. This research will apply genetic structuralism theory. Furthermore, to understand the context deeper, some supporting data concerning the history of cowboy/cowgirl and the frontier life are also applied. With MacFarlane well known specific writing style, his novel is different and unique, whereby he blends irony as well as humor in it. His world view about cowboy/cowgirl and the frontier life is quite negative although he ends the story with a happy ending. He considers most of the cowboys are brutal, mean, and extravagant. While he considers living in the frontier is tough because the frontier is a kind of uncivilized place to live. His negative view is mostly presented through the representation of some characters’ characterization, especially from the male and female protagonist characters.]]>

<![CDATA[There are three problems discussed in this research, those are; What types of language style used by the main character in Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close movie, what the function of language style used by the main character in Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close movie and what factors that influence the main character to use language style in Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close movie. The object of the research is the main character's utterance taken from a movie entitled Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Stephen Daldry. The method applied in this research is qualitative method because the researcher only gives description and explanation related to the data. The result shows that there are five type of language style and four functions of language style used by the main character as well as the factor influences described by Hymes theory can be found in the movie. The most type of language style used by the main character is consultative style. While the most function used by the main character is referential function.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims at analyzing the paranoid disorder reflected in Poe’s A Tale Tell Heart. The researcher conducts a qualitative research by applying psychological approach. This study uses Freud’s theory to explain the personality of the main character. The finding of the research shows that the main character has a mental disorder in form of personality disorder.The main character perceived paranoid and eventually as paranoid sufferer, the main character commits to be a murderer of another character.]]>

<![CDATA[This study is aimed to analyze : (1) the schizophrenia of main character in Jeff Baena’s “Horse Girl” (2) the mental condition of Sarah as schizophrenic reflected in Jeff Baena’s “Horse Girl”. The study uses descriptive qualitative method to analyzed the film entitled “Horse Girl” directed by Jeff Baena’s as the objective of the research. The method of collecting data includes watching and reading, identifying, classifying, and selecting. The method of analyzing the data by displaying, explaining, and interpreting. The data analyzed by using Eugene Bleuler theory of schizophrenia and Sigmund Freud Psychoanalysis. The result of the study : (1) the schizophrenia of main character reflected in Jeff Baena’s Horse Girl such as primary symptoms of schizophrenia in the form of association and ambivalence and secondary symptoms in the form of hallucination and delusions; (2) the mental condition of Sarah as schizophrenic in form of feeling generalized anxiety disorder due to the delusion, stress and mood disorder and analyzed by using Sigmund Freud psychoanalysis.]]>
