Abstract

Quality is something that becomes a reference in assessing something. Good performance is always associated with good quality, so that good data and information management will have an impact on good performance in order to meet the desired quality. This research aims to apply the principles of the information technology service management framework based on ITIL version 3.0 into the context of managing the development of a lecturer attendance system service within the Faculty of Computers at Universal University. Through the service design domain, this research succeeded in developing recommendations for service system development in the aspects of service catalog management, capacity management, availability management, information technology service sustainability management, and information security management. Abstract

In the digital age, online presence is inevitable. Accessibility and practicality have become lifestyle choices for modern society, which seeks ease in its activities. Therefore, businesses should be discerning in this opportunity by increasing their online visibility to meet user needs. A business website showcasing the products and services offered will be very helpful in providing convenience for users who don't want to spend time traveling to meet their needs. However, a user interface/user experience (UI/UX) that meets certain criteria is necessary to attract users to the business website. The UCD (user-centered design) method provides a series of steps that must be implemented to design a UI/UX that meets user needs in finding the information they desire. This research will discuss how this method was applied to developing the UI/UX for Toko Makmur Lestari, a building materials business. With the help of Figma design software, this research successfully produced an initial design that has been piloted with the business owner. The black box test of 12 website design functionalities has been in accordance with the initial requirements, while the SES (system usability scale) test also obtained a final score of 77, which means that the design has entered the good category in terms of effectiveness, efficiency and user satisfaction.

Abstract

Designing ecommerce website is an important process of creating user interfaces and user experiences or UI/UX for an online platform that facilitates the buying and selling of products or services on the Internet. Many companies have their own e-commerce website to support their business operational. PT Sinar Batam Indo Perkasa as a ke-player in manufacture industry is facing problems with its e-commerce website in term of visual design that need to be improved to attract more costomers. In this paper we discuss how design thinking creative and user-centered approach could be implemented to redesign the visual attract of company’s e-commerce website as an innovative solution. With the utilization of Figma as a web-based graphic design tool, each phase of design thinking approach (empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test) will be described thoroughly to produce the final result, which is an intuitive and functional design of company’s e-commerce website.

Abstract

During a sluggish economy, certain groups of society are impacted. Not only the people which economically disadvantaged, but also the middle-income group feels the impact of the unfavorable economic climate. One solution to help alleviate this burden is to raise funds for donations to those in need. Within higher education institutions environment scope, one example of a routine activity is social service of distributing basic necessities to economically disadvantaged communities around campus. The challenges faced relate to managing activities and receiving donations from donors. This web-based crowdfunding application is intended to help facilitate fundraising activities for the committee, thereby improving accountability and transparency, as all donor income is recorded in the system. The design method used is waterfall model with object-oriented approach to represent design diagrams required. The application was developed using PHP and MySQL database within an Apache server environment. Testing results to a limited user demonstrates that the system can operate smoothly, and further can be used by higher education institutions to manage fundraising activities for other needs.

Abstract

The assessment of faculty performance is a mandatory practice for higher education institutions to monitor and maintain the quality of their operations. This is because the quality of a university is partly determined by faculty performance, which includes outputs related to tridharma activities of higher education institutions (teaching, research, and community service), as well as supporting activities. The issue at hand is the absence of a system at the faculty level that can store and manage all faculty activities in the form of reports and documentation of academic and non-academic activities, which are essential for evaluating faculty performance. This study aims to implement a web-based information system to facilitate structured and organized management of faculty activity portfolios. The information system was practically developed using the Laravel framework, with a system development life cycle methodology for its conceptual design. The programming language used for development is PHP, with data storage relying on the capabilities of MySQL for practical reasons. System design is approached using object-oriented methods, with UML serving as the primary analytical tool. The outcome of the study is a web-based application that can be widely accessed via a browser, enhancing user accessibility. Testing was conducted through system integration and user acceptance tests to ensure that the system meets the desired operational conditions. In conclusion, this system represents a digital transformation tool for faculty performance assessment processes, effectively and efficiently facilitating the tasks of faculty members in reporting and documenting their activities, thereby contributing to the improvement of university quality

Abstract

Research and community service are one of the activities included in the threefold missions of higher education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi) in Indonesia that consists of 1) Education and Teaching, 2) Research and Development, and 3) Community Service. The current conditions at the university are still experiencing problems on controlling these activities because they are handled manually by the party concerned. As a result of this manual process, the activity process becomes inefficient and makes the existing process scattered and not managed properly. Therefore, this research is conducted to create a research information system and community service based on a website application to overcome these problems. With this website application, lecturers can easily submit research results quickly, reviewers can evaluate existing research also leaders can see the entire process of ongoing activities. Lecturers can also transparently see the existing assessment process and leaders have visibility of all ongoing activities.

Abstract

Changes in information and communication technology have encouraged the formation of an information society. One of the strategic elements for business organizations is processing data quickly and accurately for decision making. Therefore we need a computer-based decision support system that can support the company's decision-making process quickly and accurately. Currently, Glints Talenthub Batam still uses manual methods for decision making in determining the target market, so it takes a long time and results are less accurate. Based on this, the authors try to develop a computer-based decision support system with the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to assist the decision-making process in determining the target market at Glints Talenthub Batam. The results of this study are useful for getting a faster and more accurate decision on which target market to take at Glints Talenthub Batam. In this case, the best target market decision to make is Canada and the United States (San Francisco) ranking first with a final score of 18.68, followed by the United Kingdom in the next rank with a final score of 18.35.

Abstract

The increasing amount of waste requires a better waste management plan. Batam is one of the cities in Indonesia with a high population and economic growth rate. Batam will need better waste management planning in the future. This study aims to project waste generation in Batam City. The study will be divided into three stages, namely secondary data collection, correlation analysis, and waste generation projection calculations. Secondary data collection will be carried out by collecting data from relevant agencies. Waste generation projections are made based on sociodemographic and socioeconomic factors using R programming. The results show that there are four variables with negative values, namely population, GDP, length of schooling, and literacy rate. Meanwhile, the variables of population density and economic growth rate have positive values. Waste generation projections were made using the variables of literacy rate, length of schooling, population size, and population density. As a result, waste generation in 2030 is projected to decrease to 0.592 kg/person/day.
