Abstract

Permasalahan sampah, khususnya sampah plastik dari makanan dan minuman kemasan, menjadi ancaman serius bagi ekosistem laut sekaligus mengurangi daya tarik destinasi wisata. Pantai Lhok Raja, Nagan Raya, merupakan salah satu kawasan wisata yang berpotensi dikembangkan menjadi ekowisata, namun menghadapi persoalan kebersihan akibat rendahnya kesadaran pengunjung dan terbatasnya sarana pengelolaan sampah. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran lingkungan dan mendukung ekowisata berkelanjutan melalui Program Bersih Pantai. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada September 2025 dengan melibatkan mahasiswa Prodi Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Teuku Umar dan masyarakat setempat. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi tentang bahaya sampah, aksi bersih pantai, pemasangan spanduk larangan membuang sampah, serta penyediaan tong sampah di lokasi strategis. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan berkurangnya volume sampah di kawasan pantai, meningkatnya pemahaman masyarakat tentang dampak sampah plastik, tersedianya sarana pendukung kebersihan, serta tumbuhnya kolaborasi multipihak dalam menjaga lingkungan pesisir. Program ini memberikan kontribusi nyata terhadap peningkatan kualitas lingkungan sekaligus memperkuat potensi ekowisata berkelanjutan di Nagan Raya

Abstract

Program Kampung Asri merupakan kegiatan pemberdayaan lingkungan di Desa Sidokepung yang berfokus pada pemanfaatan lahan kosong dan barang bekas untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang asri, indah, dan produktif. Kegiatan ini melibatkan partisipasi aktif masyarakat melalui kerja sama dalam penataan taman, pemanfaatan botol dan galon bekas sebagai media tanam, serta penanaman tanaman hias dan tanaman konsumsi seperti kemangi, pokcoy, dan terong. Hasil pelaksanaan program menunjukkan peningkatan kualitas estetika lingkungan, tersedianya sumber pangan skala rumah tangga, serta tumbuhnya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya kebersihan dan kelestarian lingkungan. Program ini membuktikan bahwa pendekatan kolaboratif berbasis partisipasi warga mampu menghasilkan manfaat lingkungan yang berkelanjutan sekaligus bernilai ekologis dan sosial. The Beautiful Village Program is an environmental empowerment program in Sidokepung Village that focuses on utilizing vacant land and used materials to create a beautiful, green, and productive environment. This program involves active community participation through collaboration in landscaping, utilizing used bottles and gallon jugs as planting media, and planting ornamental plants and edible crops such as basil, bok choy, and eggplant. The program's implementation results in improved environmental aesthetics, the availability of household-scale food sources, and growing community awareness of the importance of cleanliness and environmental sustainability. This program demonstrates that a collaborative approach based on community participation can produce sustainable environmental benefits that are both ecologically and socially valuable.

Abstract

Plankton plays a crucial role in aquatic ecosystems as primary producers and bioindicators of water quality. However, baseline information on plankton composition and environmental conditions in the coastal waters of Lhok Bubon, Aceh Barat, remains limited. This study aimed to identify plankton taxa and assess environmental parameters in the study area. Field sampling was conducted in October 2025 at three stations, with three replicates per station. Plankton samples were collected using a plankton net, preserved with Lugol’s solution, and identified under a light microscope based on morphological characteristics. Water quality parameters, including temperature, pH, salinity, and dissolved oxygen (DO), were measured in situ. A total of 10 plankton taxa were identified, dominated by phytoplankton from the class Bacillariophyceae, followed by Cyanophyceae, zooplankton, and other microorganisms. The presence of diatoms such as Aulacoseira granulata and Synedra ulna indicates favorable conditions for primary productivity. Environmental parameters remained relatively stable, with temperature ranging from 31.4 to 32.9°C, salinity from 30 to 34 ppt, pH around 8.27, and DO averaging 11.45 mg/L, all within suitable ranges for aquatic life. The results indicate that Lhok Bubon coastal waters are in relatively good condition and capable of supporting plankton growth and ecological processes. However, the presence of cyanobacteria and organically associated microorganisms suggests the need for continuous monitoring to maintain environmental quality
