Abstract

The Society 5.0 era poses significant challenges to character education in Indonesian Islamic secondary schools (madrasah), where digital disruption threatens to widen the gap between institutional moral objectives and students' actual behaviour. This study investigates the implementation of character values — religiosity, discipline, honesty, creativity, and responsibility — among students at MAN 2 Soppeng, South Sulawesi. Employing a qualitative phenomenological design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with the principal, teachers, and 30 Grade XI students, complemented by observation and documentation. Analysis followed the Miles and Huberman interactive model, with validity ensured through triangulation and member checks. Findings reveal that while character education is systematically delivered through habituation, role modelling, and extracurricular activities, internalisation remains uneven: student compliance is predominantly externally driven rather than grounded in autonomous moral awareness, with the most pronounced gaps in discipline and honesty. Theoretically, these results affirm the integrative relevance of Thomas Lickona's moral knowing–feeling–action framework and Vygotsky's social constructivism, demonstrating that sustainable character formation requires affectively rich, scaffolded, and dialogic pedagogical conditions. These findings contribute an integrative theoretical model applicable to madrasah character education in the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis internalisasi nilai akidah peserta didik melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning pada kelas VII.3 di MTs DDI Kanang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre-experimental (one group pretest-posttest design). Sampel penelitian berjumlah 21 peserta didik. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket internalisasi nilai akidah yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah penerapan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan nilai rata-rata internalisasi peserta didik dari 67,04 pada pretest menjadi 82,00 pada posttest. Uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test menunjukkan nilai Z sebesar -3,704 dengan signifikansi < 0,05, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Sebanyak 18 peserta didik mengalami peningkatan, sedangkan 3 peserta didik mengalami penurunan. Dengan demikian, penerapan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning berkontribusi terhadap proses internalisasi nilai akidah peserta didik dan mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih aktif dan bermakna.

Abstract

This research aims to comprehensively analyze the Bugis community's practices in encouraging the moral education of elementary school students in Sidrap Regency. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach by using data collection techniques including participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation that involves teachers, parents, religious leaders, traditional leaders, and students. Data analysis is conducted through stages of reduction, data presentation, and continuous conclusion drawing. The research results indicate that the habituation of students' morals is manifested through several cultural practices, including respect for parents and teachers (mappesona), etiquette for visiting and meeting others (mappatabe), and dining etiquette. The habituation process is reinforced by the exemplary behaviour of parents and community leaders; cultural and religious homogeneity; the alignment of cultural values with Islamic teachings; and the support of school religious-social programmes. However, the main challenge arises from the modernisation of digital technology and the exploratory nature of elementary school children's development. This research emphasises that habits based on Bugis local culture have strategic significance as an effective, integrative, and relevant model of moral education to shape students' characters in facing the dynamics of the global era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of the EdLink Learning Management System (LMS) and its effect on the learning motivation of postgraduate students at IAIN Parepare. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The sample consisted of 35 active postgraduate students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. Descriptive statistics were used to identify patterns of EdLink LMS usage, including the duration and frequency of access, as well as to describe the supporting and hindering factors perceived by students. Simple linear regression was applied to test the effect of EdLink LMS use on students’ learning motivation. The findings show that most students had used EdLink since their first semester (77.14%) and accessed it several times a week (68.57%). The regression analysis revealed that the use of EdLink LMS had a positive and significant effect on learning motivation, with an R Square value of 0.447. These findings indicate that optimizing LMS implementation and strengthening technical support are important strategies for enhancing students’ learning motivation.
