Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of communication quality and problem handling on user complaints of the DANA application, especially for students of the Faculty of Economics, State University of Medan. The background of this study is the increasing user complaints about the DANA application, such as slow customer service response, failed transactions, and lack of clarity in problem solving. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method, and data were obtained through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents selected by purposive sampling. The research instrument measured three variables: communication quality (X₁), problem handling (X₂), and user complaints (Y), with a Likert scale of 1-5. The reliability test results show that all variables have Cronbach's Alpha values above 0.8, which means they are highly reliable. The results of multiple linear regression analysis show that communication quality has a positive and significant effect on user complaints (t count = 2.206; sig = 0.03), and problem handling has a significant negative effect (t count = -2.480; sig = 0.015). The simultaneous test (F count = 5.190; sig = 0.007) shows that both variables together have a significant effect on user complaints. This study concludes that improving communication and problem handling can reduce the level of complaints and increase user satisfaction with the DANA application.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of TikTok's Live Shopping feature on purchasing decisions of students from the Faculty of Economics, State University of Medan. The transformation of social media into a digital marketplace has enabled TikTok, through its live shopping feature, to enable direct interaction between sellers and buyers in real time. A quantitative approach was used with 98 respondents determined using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using normality, linearity, and simple linear regression tests. The results show that TikTok Live Shopping has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, with a regression coefficient (B) of 0.577 and a significance value of 0.000 (0.05). This means that the higher the intensity and quality of the live shopping experience, the greater the student's tendency to purchase. Interactive features such as direct communication, product demonstrations, and real-time promotions increase consumer trust and satisfaction. This study confirms that live shopping is an effective digital marketing strategy, and further research is recommended to add variables such as consumer trust and customer loyalty to deepen the understanding of social commerce behavior in the digital era.Keywords: TikTok Live Shopping, purchasing decisions, digital marketing, Consumer Behavior.

Abstract

Inflation is one of the key indicators in an economy that can influence economic stability as well as public welfare. An increase in the general price level of goods and services may reduce real income, thereby affecting people's ability to meet their consumption needs. This study aims to analyze the impact of inflation on the purchasing power of society in Indonesia. The research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method by examining various recent scientific journals and relevant studies related to inflation and purchasing power. The findings indicate that inflation has a significant impact on people's purchasing power because rising prices increase household living costs. As a result, households tend to adjust their consumption patterns by reducing spending on non-essential goods and prioritizing basic necessities. The impact of inflation is particularly felt by middle- and lower-income groups since a large proportion of their income is allocated to basic consumption. Therefore, maintaining inflation stability is essential to protect public welfare. Effective inflation control through monetary policy, fiscal policy, and social protection programs plays an important role in maintaining price stability and safeguarding the purchasing power of society.
