Abstract

The development of contemporary research methodologies has undergone significant transformation in response to advances in digital technology, the use of big data, and increasing demands for transparency, replicability, and academic integrity in scientific publications. This study aims to systematically examine the evolution of modern research methodologies and their implications for the quality of scientific publications. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach was employed by reviewing literature from reputable international databases published over the past ten years. The selected studies were analyzed using qualitative content analysis to identify major methodological trends and emerging epistemological challenges. The findings indicate that mixed-methods approaches, artificial intelligence–based analytics, big data utilization, and the adoption of open science principles have become dominant features of contemporary research. These results underscore that improvements in publication quality are strongly influenced by the selection of appropriate methodological approaches, strengthened analytical rigor, transparent reporting practices, and sustained institutional support.

Abstract

This study aims to critically examine the concept of successor generation education in Muhammadiyah thought as part of the tajdid movement and the project of modern Islamic civilization building. This research employs a library research approach with qualitative- interpretative analysis of primary and secondary sources, including official Muhammadiyah documents, works of prominent figures, and contemporary scholarly literature. Data analysis is conducted through content analysis with emphasis on thematic coding and conceptual reconstruction. The findings reveal that Muhammadiyah’s educational concept is holistic, integrative, and transformative, integrating the values of tawhid, rationality, morality, and social responsibility. Education is not merely understood as the transmission of knowledge, but as a systematic effort to shape faithful, knowledgeable, ethical, and socially responsible individuals who are capable of responding to global challenges. The novelty of this study lies in positioning successor education as Muhammadiyah’s long-term ideological and strategic vision oriented toward civilizational development rather than merely institutional practice. This study confirms that Muhammadiyah’s educational model has strong potential to serve as a reference for the development of progressive, moderate, and inclusive Islamic education.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the position of Islamic Religious Education in the police institution as a normative moral doctrine, examine the gap between ideal values and the actual behavior of officers, and identify structural, cultural, and pedagogical factors that influence the effectiveness of the internalization of PAI values in the formation of police professional ethics. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical research type. The analytical framework used is a normative-empirical approach through the perspectives of das sollen and das sein. The research data are sourced from internal police policy documents and regulations, scientific literature in the form of books and articles from accredited national journals, and relevant previous research. Data collection techniques are carried out through documentation studies and literature studies, which at certain stages can be supplemented with limited interviews as supporting data. Data analysis is carried out qualitatively through the process of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing thematic and critical conclusions. The results of this study indicate that Islamic Religious Education in the police force formally holds strong legitimacy as the ethical foundation for police development. However, the internalization of Islamic Religious Education values in the professional behavior of officers has not been optimal. As a result, Islamic Religious Education tends to function as a symbolic moral doctrine that has not been fully integrated with the realities of police duties and ethical dilemmas.

Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric mapping and analysis of global research trends in Islamic Higher Education (IHE), drawing upon 1,400 Scopus-indexed publications from 1970 to 2024. Employing advanced bibliometric techniques such as co-authorship, co-citation, and co-word analyses using VOSviewer and Bibliometrix R-package, this research systematically explores publication dynamics, intellectual structures, and emerging thematic directions within the field. The findings reveal a sustained annual growth rate of 10.62%, with a sharp increase since the mid-2000s, indicating a global rise in scholarly interest in IHE as both a religious and socio-academic domain. Southeast Asia particularly Indonesia and Malaysia dominates research output, while international collaboration remains limited. Thematic network visualisations indicate two principal clusters: (1) educational and religious studies, centred on topics such as higher education, Islamic education, and religious moderation; and (2) health and human studies, emphasizing gender, adult learning, and empirical methodologies. The thematic evolution map positions “human,” “female,” and “adult” as motor themes, suggesting growing interdisciplinarity linking Islamic pedagogy with psychology, digital learning, and health education. Conversely, “Islamic higher education” and “Islamic education” appear as emerging or underdeveloped themes, reflecting both conceptual immaturity and potential for future expansion
