Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of SMA PLUS Yaspida in developing student leadership as an effort to manifest khalifatu fii al-ardi (stewards on earth) with Islamic character. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques including observation, informal interviews, and documentary studies. The results indicate that the foundational concept of SMA PLUS Yaspida is based on a national curriculum integrated with pesantren (Islamic boarding school) programs, leadership training, and the habituation of Islamic character. The primary strategy of SMA Plus YASPIDA in shaping student leadership is through the implementation of a conducive and structured student/santri organizational culture, allowing students to experience a learning by doing process in leadership imbued with Islamic values. This role is central and integrated, grounded in the concept of a Total Islamic Boarding School. Challenges encountered include time constraints, heavy academic and religious workloads, the transition from a command-based structure to student autonomy, limited perceptions of leadership, and a lack of structured, sustainable leadership training. These issues are addressed by implementing a daily responsibility delegation model and a situational leadership approach. The study concludes that the leadership program ensures students are not only academically proficient but also morally, socially, and emotionally mature as future leaders.

Abstract

This research examines the concept of fitrah in the hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) using a thematic hadith interpretation approach focused on textual and contextual analysis. The research aims to understand the nature of fitrah as an innate human potential and identify its implications for contemporary Islamic education systems. The research method employed is library research with content analysis techniques applied to authentic hadiths, particularly those narrated by Imam Bukhari and Muslim regarding the birth of children in a state of fitrah. The findings reveal that fitrah represents a natural disposition that Allah has instilled in every human being since birth, encompassing the inclination to recognize and worship Allah SWT as well as inherent potential for goodness. Chain of narration analysis demonstrates that hadiths concerning fitrah possess authentic quality with unbroken transmission chains and trustworthy narrators. This research discovers that although fitrah is universal, its development is significantly influenced by educational environments, particularly the family. Parents possess a determinant role in shaping children's religious identity through parenting patterns, exemplary conduct, and value cultivation. The pedagogical implications of the fitrah concept necessitate an integrated Islamic education system encompassing family, madrasah, and society to preserve and optimize children's fitrah development. This research recommends developing an Islamic education curriculum oriented toward awakening and actualizing fitrah, with humanistic teaching methods characterized by compassion and alignment with children's developmental stages.

Abstract

Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan library research, menganalisis karya-karya primer Knott, khususnya "Insider/Outsider Perspectives" dan "Spatial Theory and Method for the Study of Religion".
