Abstract

This study discusses the practice of buying and selling chips in online games that are rampant in Sungai Jambat Village, Sadu District, and is reviewed from an Islamic economic perspective. The rise of this activity is inseparable from the increasing use of smartphones and the internet among village communities, which makes online games a means of entertainment as well as a business opportunity. However, the practice of buying and selling chips carried out outside official channels raises a number of problems, such as elements of fraud, addiction, and indications of hidden gambling. In Islamic economics, transactions must meet the principles of justice, honesty, clarity of contracts, and be free from haram elements such as usury, gharar, and maysir. The results of the study show that the practice of buying and selling chips in the village is contrary to these principles, so it is not justified by sharia. Therefore, an active role is needed from the village government, religious leaders, and the community in providing education and creating alternative economic activities that are halal and beneficial.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of Islamic economic principles in the marketing practices of salted fish businesses in Lorong Nelayan, East Muara Sabak District. Islamic economics teaches that marketing activities must be grounded in values such as honesty (ṣidq), trustworthiness (amanah), justice ('adl), and transparency, while avoiding elements of gharar (uncertainty), tadlis (deception), and practices that disadvantage others. This research employs a qualitative method using a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving salted fish business operators in Lorong Nelayan. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the majority of salted fish business operators have implemented several Islamic economic principles in their marketing activities, such as maintaining product quality, treating consumers courteously, and providing information regarding prices and product types. However, some practices were found to be not fully aligned with Islamic economic principles—such as a lack of transparency regarding the quality of certain products and business competition that does not fully reflect the values of justice and Islamic business ethics. Overall, salted fish marketing practices in Lorong Nelayan are moving toward the application of Islamic economic principles; nevertheless, there is still a need to enhance the business operators' understanding and awareness of Islamic business ethics so that marketing activities can be conducted more professionally, fairly, and in accordance with Sharia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characteristics of Sharia entrepreneurship within the computer embroidery business, Sabak Printing. Sharia entrepreneurship is a concept that goes beyond a mere focus on economic profit; it is grounded in Islamic values such as honesty (siddiq), trustworthiness (amanah), intelligence (fathanah), and effective communication (tabligh). Amidst increasingly fierce business competition, the application of Sharia principles serves as a crucial factor in maintaining the business's sustainability and ensuring it is blessed (*barakah*). This study employs a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Data were gathered through observation, interviews with the business owner, employees, customers, and a religious figure (ustadz), as well as through documentation related to the business activities of Jambi Jaya Bordir. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing to obtain a comprehensive picture of how Sharia entrepreneurship characteristics are applied within the business. The research findings indicate that Jambi Jaya Bordir has incorporated several Sharia entrepreneurship characteristics into its business operations. These include honesty in providing information to customers, trustworthiness in fulfilling orders according to agreements, professionalism and innovation in the use of computer embroidery technology, and effective communication in customer service. Furthermore, the business upholds values such as hard work and responsibility, while striving to maintain positive relationships with both customers and employees. Nevertheless, there remain areas for improvement, particularly regarding the strengthening of the understanding and implementation of Sharia values across all aspects of business management.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of the green economy concept in micro-enterprises to support business sustainability, as well as the integration of the green economy concept and Sharia economic principles in realizing sustainable Islamic micro-enterprises. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study design. Data sources comprise both primary and secondary data, collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis utilizes the interactive analysis model developed by Miles and Huberman. The study concludes that the integration of the green economy and Sharia economic principles in micro-enterprise practices in East Tanjung Jabung Regency has essentially been implemented, although not yet fully systematically, and not all business owners formally understand the green economy concept. Factors supporting this integration include business owner awareness, religious values, the use of local raw materials, environmental concern, and community support. Conversely, inhibiting factors include limited capital, low understanding of the green economy, a lack of eco-friendly technology, the relatively high cost of implementing green practices, and suboptimal mentoring and institutional support.
