Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe efforts to improve environmental knowledge and awareness in prospective biology teacher students through a conservation education program containing religious values. This study uses a qualitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. Research data were collected through tests (quantitative data), questionnaires (qualitative). Qualitative data was analyzed using descriptive analytical techniques, while quantitative data was analyzed using inferential statistical techniques, specifically t-tests and N-gain analysis. Research interventions were carried out through the integration of religious values in conservation education through the ayatization/labelling approach, namely by quoting verses of the Qur'an that are relevant to the concept of conservation. The results of the study found that the implementation of conservation education containing religious values can improve environmental knowledge and awareness in prospective biology teacher students. The integration of religious values in conservation education builds a comprehensive understanding and provides a more binding moral encouragement so as to foster awareness and responsibility for the environment that is better than other approaches. The results of this study can be an alternative to an effective conservation education program so that it becomes a solution in the development of conservation education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Gen AI has been applied widely in applied science research, but its use in ecological research and ecology education is still rarely studied. This research aims to systematically examine the use of Gen AI in ecological research and ecology education. This study applied the PRISMA method to analyze relevant studies in Scopus. The study found 23 relevant articles related to the use of Gen AI in ecological reseach (n=17) and ecology education (n=7). In the field of ecological research, Gen AI is utilized for ecological monitoring, landscape ecology, species identification, industrial ecology, conservation, human ecology, and as an ecological research tool. Gen AI in ecology education is used to personalize learning content, support an AI-based automatic assessment system, enable digital field simulations, and foster student innovation and creativity. This study emphasizes the importance of establishing clear guidelines and providing training for both lecturers and students to optimize the benefits of Gen AI and to mitigate the associated risks. The findings of this study are expected to provide recommendations for educators and researchers on utilizing AI to support ecological research and the effective teaching of ecology. This research has practical implications regarding the importance of digital literacy and ethical AI use in the academic context.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPAS di SDN Laranganluwok belum optimal karena terbatasnya media konkret, sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya hasil belajar peserta didik kelas V materi sistem pencernaan manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan, menguji kelayakan, dan keefektifan media pembelajaran flashcard berbasis Augmented Reality (AR). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode R&D (Research and Development) dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) dengan subjek peserta didik kelas V SDN Laranganluwok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media flashcard berbasis AR sangat layak berdasarkan penilaian ahli media (94,23%), materi (87,50%), dan bahasa (95,45%). Hasil implementasi menunjukkan peningkatan nilai rata-rata peserta didik antara pretest (66,25) dan posttest (91,67). Uji-t menghasilkan signifikansi (2-tailed) 0,000 (< 0,05), menunjukkan adanya perbedaan hasil belajar yang signifikan. Uji N-Gain sebesar 0,76 yang dikategorikan dalam kriteria efektif. Dengan demikian, media pembelajaran flashcard berbasis AR dinyatakan layak dan efektif sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran IPAS di sekolah dasar, khususnya pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia. Penelitian selanjutnya diharapkan dapat mengembangkan dan menerapkannya pada materi serta jenjang pendidikan yang lebih beragam guna memperoleh gambaran efektivitas yang lebih luas.
