Abstract

PT XYZ still produces many product defects that exceed the specified permissible limits. This company has a product defect margin of 2.50% of total production. The purpose of this study is to improve product quality by facing fierce competition and become a theoretical reference in suppressing product failures and information to determine its importance using servqual and QFM. Servqual is a service quality measurement method developed by Parasuraman, et al. QFM is a quality management tool to map and identify critical points in the service process that affect quality. The implementation of PDCA in the company needs to be improved again and the implementation of 5R in the company needs to be improved. The largest waste in the Birch 4.6 mm product is Repair with a Press Mark defect type of 0.47% and in the Birch 18 mm product, the highest Fail Reject Defect is a bubble of 3.57%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the proportion of productive and non-productive work time among the workforce, identify non-productive activities, and formulate proposals for productivity improvement at the Sumber Teknik Workshop in Prigi Village, Watulimo District, Trenggalek Regency. The study employs a quantitative descriptive approach using the Work Sampling method—observing workforce activities at random intervals to determine the proportions of productive and non-productive work. Observations were conducted on two welding operators, totaling 834 observations, and the data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel. The results indicate that Operator 1 engaged in productive activities 73.73% of the time and non-productive activities 26.27% of the time, while Operator 2 recorded figures of 74.22% and 25.78%, respectively. Overall, the average productive activity was 73.98%, and non-productive activity was 26.02%. Non-productive activities included searching for tools, waiting for instructions and materials, waiting for a turn to use tools, running out of electrodes, equipment malfunctions, and rework due to errors. These results suggest that workforce productivity is reasonably good; however, there remains room for improvement through better tool organization, material management, and equipment maintenance

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and compare the accuracy of the Double Moving Average (DMA) and Single Exponential Smoothing (SES) methods in forecasting the demand for fancy goldfish at the Wirajaya MSME. A descriptive-comparative quantitative approach was employed, utilizing historical monthly demand data for Ranchu, Oranda, and Lionhead goldfish from January to December 2025. The DMA method was tested using periods of n = 2, 3, and 4, while the SES method utilized smoothing parameters ranging from α = 0.1 to 0.9. Method accuracy was evaluated based on Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD), Mean Squared Error (MSE), and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). The results indicate that DMA yielded MAPE values of 5.97% for Ranchu, 4.91% for Oranda, and 6.47% for Lionhead. In contrast, SES produced MAPE values of 10.33% for Ranchu (at α = 0.4), 7.58% for Oranda (at α = 0.5), and 10.14% for Lionhead (at α = 0.7). The comparison reveals that DMA achieved lower MAPE values than SES across all three fish varieties. Consequently, DMA demonstrates superior forecasting accuracy and serves as a viable alternative for supporting production planning and inventory control of fancy goldfish at the Wirajaya MSME.
