Abstract

Three-dimensional printing (3D printing) technology has developed rapidly and offers innovative solutions in the manufacturing industry, especially for replacing damaged machine components. This research aims to analyze the perception and effectiveness of this technology as an alternative through empirical data from 300 respondents. The test results show that perceptions of 3D printing's ability to replace traditional components, the quality of the print results, and environmental benefits are significantly influenced by the respondent's level of experience (p-value < 0.05). However, aspects of cost efficiency and ease of application of technology show uniformity of perception across all groups of respondents, indicating the potential for broad application of technology. The normality and ANOVA tests performed confirmed the validity of the data, supporting the use of parametric statistical analysis. These findings underscore the ability of 3D printing to reduce costs and production time, while highlighting key challenges related to material strength and initial investment. This research recommends the development of materials, hardware, and ongoing education to increase the acceptance and effectiveness of the application of this technology in the manufacturing industry.

Abstract

In an increasingly competitive industrial era, reducing waste and increasing operational efficiency has become a primary focus for many organizations. The 5S method, namely Seiri (Sort), Seiton (Arrange), Seiso (Clean), Seiketsu (Standardization), and Shitsuke (Discipline), which originated in Japan and was introduced into the Toyota production system in the 1950s, offers a systematic approach to creating an orderly and clean work environment. This research aims to explore the implementation of 5S at PT XY, with a focus on its impact on operational efficiency and reducing waste in the cement production process. The methodology used in this research includes literature studies and case studies, where data is collected through interviews, direct observation and documentation analysis. The research results show that implementing 5S can increase productivity, create a more organized work environment, and increase employee satisfaction. However, there are several challenges in implementation, especially in the aspects of standardization and discipline among employees. This research also identified problems faced in the project warehouse, such as a lack of personnel, insufficient area, and misunderstandings in shipping goods. Recommendations for improvement include employee training, establishing more comprehensive procedures, and grouping items by type to increase efficiency. Thus, it is hoped that the application of the 5S method at PT XY can create a better work culture and support the sustainability of operational efficiency practices in the future. These findings provide valuable insights for other industries looking to implement 5S to improve their performance and competitiveness.

Abstract

Abstract

Fuel scarcity in Bengkulu Province has occurred in the last few days. In fact, prices at the retail level have soared to Rp30,000 per liter. This study aims to provide solutions to the fuel distribution problems in Bengkulu that have been explained previously and provide optimal solutions using the Analytical Network Process Method and the Cluster First Route Second (CFRS) Method. so that the determination of the closest route is Tank Truck 11 with the route Lubuklinggau Fuel Terminal - Gas Station 6 Bengkulu City - Lubuklinggau Fuel Terminal with a distance of 234 KM and the farthest route is Lubuklinggau Fuel Terminal - Gas Station 11 - Gas Station 3 - Lubuklinggau Fuel Terminal.

Abstract

Portable open waste container is a traditional waste transport tool that is still widely used in various places. Skid frame is an important component in the construction of portable open waste container that serves to withstand static and dynamic loads during waste transport. Therefore, it is necessary to analyse the strength of the skid frame structure to ensure the design is able to withstand the given load. This research aims to analyse the stress distribution, deformation, and safety factor of the portable open waste container skid frame using the Finite Element Analysis method in Solidworks software. The analysis results show that the maximum stress that occurs in the skid frame is 249.921 MPa which almost reaches the yield stress of ASTM A36 steel material, which is 250 MPa, with a maximum deformation of 20.544 mm, and a minimum safety factor of 0.6. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the skid frame design needs to be optimised to improve the durability of the structure and safety during operation
