Abstract

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has been used in every aspect of life. Children are familiar with ICT, both for learning and playing activities. The widespread use of ICT among children must be accompanied by parents' assistance, and supervision to obtain optimal benefits and minimize the disadvantages of using ICT. The community service program is carried out for mothers who are members of Kelompok Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) in Sendari Tirtoadi, Sleman Yogyakarta by using the method of socialization and outreach to parents (especially mothers) about how to assist children in using electronic ICT devices, both for activities study and other activities and followed by the procurement of a survey of 25 participants. The results of a survey conducted on 25 participants obtained information that 100% of children have at least one ICT-based communication tool, 100% of children have used ICT equipment, 83% of parents do not follow their children's social media accounts or check their children's gadgets and 75% of people parents do not provide assistance to children's activities in using ICT equipment. These results indicate the need for socialization of how to be wise parents in the digital era, especially in assisting children in using ICT. The role of parents in mentoring is essential so that children can use IT well.

Abstract

Limbah merupakan konsekuensi dari adanya aktifitas manusia.Limbah merupakan material sisa yang tidak diinginkan setelah berakhirnya suatu proses. Dalam kehidupan modern, limbah menjadi salah satu isu yang penting. Upaya menyadarkan masyarakat tentang penggunaan plastik telah banyak dilakukan, seperti dengan slogan refuse, reduce, reuse, dan recycle namun sosialisasi dan pendampingan terhadap masyarakat harus terus dilakukan. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat khususnya Ibu-ibu rumah tangga di dusun Karet Pleret Yogyakarta akan pentingnya pengelolaan sampah/limbah plastik di lingkungannya dan mengolahnya menjadi barang yang berharga atau memanfaatkan limbah tersebut untuk penggunaan lain yang bermanfaat. Hasil dari sosialisasi dan pendampingan ini diharapkan meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakan akan pentingnya pengelolaan sampah plastik dan pada akhirnya meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan dan meningkatkan taraf kehidupan.

Abstract

Sheilded Metal Arc Welding (Electric arc) welding has been widely used by the public and produces various types of weld products. This type of welding is the choice of the community because the equipment is easily available and relatively affordable. Knowledge of welding results is still minimal mastered by the community so training is needed to understand how to inspect or check welding results. Visual inspection is the easiest way only with the naked eye or using a magnifying glass, this examination can be done. Although simple, visual inspection is very helpful in controlling the quality of welds. Visual inspection can detect 9 types of defects that occur due to the welding process using an electric arc.
