Abstract

Despite the increasing adoption of differentiated learning under Indonesia's Kurikulum Merdeka, the practical challenges faced by elementary school teachers in implementing this approach—particularly within resource-constrained public school settings—remain insufficiently documented. This study employed a descriptive qualitative design to investigate the challenges, adaptive strategies, and student outcomes associated with differentiated learning implementation at SD Inpres 3 Talise, Palu City, Central Sulawesi. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, structured classroom observations, and document analysis involving six purposively selected classroom teachers during the 2025/2026 academic year. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles et al. (2014), with trustworthiness established through methodological triangulation and member checking. Three principal challenges were identified: limited instructional time (cited by all six participants), large class sizes, and low levels of student self-directed learning. Teachers employed three primary adaptive strategies: digital platform use, collegial collaboration, and reliance on institutional support. A notable finding was the near-absence of formally differentiated assessment rubrics, revealing a significant assessment-instruction alignment gap. These findings extend the international literature by identifying student self-directedness as an internally generated pedagogical constraint that is underexplored in differentiation frameworks. The study underscores the need for professional development programs targeting assessment differentiation and calls for structural reforms to support sustainable differentiated instruction in Indonesian elementary education.

Abstract

This study aims to develop the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) focusing on the Mutual Cooperation Dimension using the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) approach. The P5 Project, with the Mutual Cooperation Dimension applied through an Entrepreneurship theme integrated with the STEAM approach, utilized the ADDIE development model, which involved expert validation for Material and Media, Product Testing, and Practicality Testing by teachers and students. The research subjects were 10 fourth-grade students at Sekolah Alam Dongi-dongi. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The trial results indicated that the entrepreneurship project is valid and practical, and can enhance student engagement in learning. Furthermore, the project was effective in the teaching process with the help of volunteers, facilitating the understanding of complex materials, and ensuring that the learning not only provides immediate benefits but also promotes the sustainability of the school's ecosystem and its students. Therefore, this project is feasible for use in P5 learning at the elementary level, as it enriches students' learning experiences, increases creativity, fosters the spirit of mutual cooperation, and deepens their understanding of entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Collaboration skills are one of the 21st-century skills that need to be developed from elementary school level. However, the implementation of learning that effectively trains students' collaboration skills is still not optimal. This study aims to determine the effect of using an Augmented Reality (AR)-based Waste Museum on the collaboration skills of elementary school students. This study used a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest–Posttest type pre-experimental design. The subjects were 32 fifth-grade students of SD Inpres 3 Tondo in the 2025/2026 academic year. The data collection instrument was a collaboration skills questionnaire that had been validated by experts, supported by observation sheets and documentation. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, and Rasch modeling to observe changes in individual student abilities and the quality of instrument items. The analysis results showed that the data were not normally distributed, so the Wilcoxon test was used. The Wilcoxon test results showed an increase in students' collaboration skills scores after participating in learning using the AR-based Waste Museum, although statistically the increase was not significant. However, the results of the effect size analysis indicated a learning effect in the small to moderate category. These findings indicate that the AR-based Waste Museum can create contextual, interactive, and meaningful learning experiences and has the potential to support the development of elementary school students' collaboration skills. Therefore, museum-based learning media and AR technology can be used as an innovative alternative for elementary school learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical representations of male and female students in solving algebraic problem. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects consisted of two seventh -grade students from SMP Negeri 9 Palu selected through written tests and interviews. The research results show that during the understanding the problem stage, male subjects used verbal, symbolic, and visual representations, whereas female subjects used only verbal and symbolic representations. During the making a plan and carrying out the plan stages, both subjects used symbolic representations by writing down formulas, forming equations, and performing algebraic operations to arrive at the solution. In the looking back stage, the female subject used verbal and symbolic representations more comprehensively by rechecking the solution and providing a coherent explanation, whereas the male subject only wrote down the final conclusion without performing a thorough recheck.
