Abstract

Abstract

Guidance and Counseling (GC) in Elementary Schools plays a crucial role in supporting students' holistic development, encompassing academic, social, and emotional aspects. However, teachers still face various challenges in its practical implementation. This descriptive qualitative research aims to identify the specific challenges encountered by fifth-grade teachers at SD Negeri 2 Mata Ie in providing GC services, as well as the adaptive strategies they employ to overcome these obstacles. Through interviews and observations, the study found that the main challenges involve managing students with various behavioral and learning difficulties, such as slow learners, hyperactivity, or frequently disturbing peers. To address these issues, teachers developed innovative strategies, including participating in GC training, fostering close collaboration between teachers and parents, and integrating GC activities directly into daily lessons. These findings underscore the importance of enhancing teacher capacity and robust institutional support to ensure that GC services can function effectively at the elementary school level

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of history-based peace education at SDN 10 Bebesen, Central Aceh, with a focus on the challenges faced by teachers and its impact on students. The method used is a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with history teachers, education supervisors, and students. The results show that although history-based peace education has been introduced, its implementation remains limited by a curriculum that focuses more on historical events than on reconciliation and conflict resolution. Teachers face difficulties in linking peace education with historical events due to a lack of adequate training and resources. On the other hand, students demonstrate an understanding of peace values but struggle to apply them in daily life, especially those from families affected by conflict. This study concludes that enhancing teacher capacity through more specific training and the application of more interactive teaching methods is essential to improving the effectiveness of history-based peace education. Future research is expected to broaden the sample scope and explore project-based approaches to optimize the implementation of peace education in elementary schools.

Abstract

In the 16th to 18th centuries, the Acehnese spice trade played an important role in the provincial economy. It connects it with international trade routes through the Straits of Malacca. This study explores the role of Chinese brokers in the dynamics of the spice trade and how this interaction affects Aceh's position in international trade In this study uses the Historical method, involving the analysis of historical events through a systematic series of actions. It begins by gathering secondary historical sources, including Books and Articles in Journals. After that, source criticism is done to ensure that the information obtained is genuine and credible. Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Belajar (Independent Learning) Curriculum in Indonesia has sparked a paradigm shift that requires teachers to adapt quickly and effectively in the learning process. This study aims to analyze the performance of elementary school teachers in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum in Pancasila Education for Grades I and IV, focusing on the aspects of planning, implementation, and evaluation. Employing a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, the study involved teachers from SDN 053 Cisitu, SDN 208 Luginasari, and SDN 139 Sukarasa in Bandung City. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and the examination of instructional documents. The results indicate that teachers have been able to conduct learning in alignment with the principles and guidelines of the Merdeka Curriculum, including a sound understanding of the assessment structure. This achievement is supported by adequate school facilities and curriculum-related training. However, several challenges remain, such as limited learning media in non-driving schools and students’ difficulties in understanding the material. In response, teachers demonstrated creativity in developing teaching modules and maximizing the use of available learning media. This study underscores the need for continuous support, capacity building for teachers, and adaptive strategies to optimize the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, particularly in the teaching of Pancasila Education at the elementary school level.
