Abstract

Starting to fade awareness of the diversity that exists in the social environment, will result in conflicts between individuals and between groups emerging. The emergence of these conflicts has an impact on disrupting national stability because it is easier for people to be divided with hatred and prejudice just because they do not know and understand the diversity of their nation, especially in the digitalization era which provides easy access to digitally interacting, therefore the implementation of cultural literacy and citizenship in the current digital era, it is very necessary to implement it in the world of education, especially at the elementary school level which is a basic means in developing student potential to become human beings who believe and are devoted to God Almighty, have noble character, are healthy, knowledgeable, capable, creative, independent. , and become a democratic and responsible citizen. This study aims to describe the urgency of cultural literacy and citizenship for elementary schools in the digitalization era and how to implement cultural literacy and citizenship in elementary schools. This research uses a literature study method by collecting and analyzing various literature sources such as books, magazines, and research journals that are in accordance with the research objectives. Based on the results of the study, it was found that in the current digitalization era, the implementation of cultural literacy and citizenship in elementary schools is very urgent. The implementation of cultural literacy and citizenship in elementary schools can be carried out well if it is supported by parents, and the surrounding community by providing facilities to support cultural and civic literacy programs prepared by the school.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menyelidiki keterampilan komunikasi dan kolaborasi ilmiah di antara siswa kelas delapan selama pembelajaran sains, yang dilakukan di SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Krian pada bulan Mei 2023. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif, peserta aktif dipilih sebagai subjek penelitian. Analisis yang dilakukan meliputi reduksi data, presentasi, dan kesimpulan. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa meskipun siswa menunjukkan kemahiran dalam komunikasi lisan, mereka kurang percaya diri; namun, mereka secara efektif mengartikulasikan argumen dan menanggapi pertanyaan. Keterampilan komunikasi tertulis penting untuk pembuatan laporan yang sistematis, termasuk tujuan yang jelas, prosedur yang tepat, hasil dan diskusi yang relevan, dan kesimpulan yang akurat. Keterampilan kolaborasi dibuktikan dengan kontribusi yang efektif, kerja sama tim, tanggung jawab, menghargai pendapat yang beragam, dan pertukaran ide yang konstruktif. Penelitian ini menyoroti bidang-bidang yang dapat meningkatkan komunikasi ilmiah dan keterampilan kolaborasi di antara siswa sekolah menengah, yang menawarkan implikasi untuk praktik pendidikan dan pengembangan kurikulum.

Abstract

berpikir kritis siswa dalam konteks pembuatan batik Sidoarjo. Menggunakan desain kuasi-eksperimental, dengan kelompok kontrol yang tidak ekuivalen, penelitian ini menggunakan uji-t sampel berpasangan untuk analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan (p = 0,013) dalam kemampuan berpikir kritis di antara siswa yang terlibat dalam pembelajaran terintegrasi etno-sains dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi pengaruh integrasi etno-sains dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menunjukkan potensi penggabungan etno-sains ke dalam pendidikan sains untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada siswa, mengatasi kesenjangan penting dalam penelitian yang ada.

Abstract

Science process skills are an important aspect in science learning and play a role in training students' scientific thinking skills. However, facts in the field show that students still have difficulties in making systematic observations, formulating hypotheses, designing and conducting experiments, and interpreting data appropriately. This condition is exacerbated by the lack of practicum activities that can train science process skills. The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of the practicum method on the science process skills of junior high school students. This type of research is a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group research design. The study population was 115 students and the sample was 46 students. The sampling technique used random sampling which was grouped into control and experimental classes. The data analysis technique used N-gain and Mann Whitney test. The results showed that there was no increase in science process skills in the control and experimental classes. In addition, there was no significant difference between the science process skills of the control and experimental classes. It can be concluded that the practicum method in this study did not have an impact on students' science process skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement and influence of creativity an collaboration through Project Based Learning models in science learning. This type of research is quantitative pre-experiment with aone group pretest-posttest design tested on the experimental class and 2 replication classes. The type of test used measure creativity uses a description test sheet while collaboration uses a collaboration observation sheet. The results showed that the increase in creativity with an average N-Gain value in the medium category. The collaboration skill scores of the three classes were obtained in the good and excellent categories. The result of the manova test on creativity and collaboration skills influenced creativity and collaboration through the Project Based Learning model so it can be concluded that the learning process using the Project Based Learning model can improve and influence creativity and collaboration in science learning

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to explore and describe the implementation of differentiated learning strategies in early childhood education and their impact on the development of critical thinking skills at TK ABA Bebekan.  Method: Utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected over five weeks through classroom observations, teacher interviews, and documentation analysis. The study focused on class B, where differentiated strategies were implemented based on children's learning styles and interests. Results: The findings indicate that the teacher employed three forms of differentiation—process, content, and product. Children were more engaged, demonstrated increased curiosity, and exhibited critical thinking behaviors such as asking questions, reasoning, making decisions, and solving problems. Specifically, 12 out of 15 children actively questioned phenomena, and 13 made independent choices during learning. Novelty: This study contributes to the limited literature on early childhood differentiated instruction in Indonesia by highlighting its practical application in enhancing critical thinking, particularly through individualized learning activities that respect children’s developmental uniqueness.

Abstract

Kerusakan lingkungan saat ini berada dalam tahap memprihatinkan sehingga diperlukan tindakan konkret untuk menjaga, merawat dan melestarikan lingkungan. Tindakan konkret yang dilakukan dapat menumbuhkan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan sehingga kerusakan lingkungan dapat diminimalisir. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan kepedulian mahasiswa terhadap lingkungan hidup melalui metode kunjungan lapangan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Penelitian ini menggunakan 2 siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa PGSD sejumlah 40 mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan tentang lingkungan hidup. Persentase ketuntasan klasikal pada siklus I sebesar 77,5% meningkat pada siklus II dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 97,5%. Sejumlah 40,7 % mahasiswa sering terlibat dalam kegiatan menjaga lingkungan sekitar. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan metode kunjungan lapangan mahasiswa mampu memperdalam pemahaman tentang teori dan praktek yang dipelajari di kelas melalui pengalaman langsung berinteraksi dengan alam.

Abstract

Understanding concepts is a very important aspect in learning, especially in science learning where there are many complex concepts and theories so good understanding is needed. The role of educators, methods and teaching materials will be maximized to provide students with a good understanding of concepts. This research aims to determine the increase in students' understanding of science concepts before and after the application of the Science Exploration Book on Earth and Solar System material in class VII by taking samples using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection in this research was in the form of pretest and posttest and analyzed using N-Gain to determine the increase in understanding of concepts that occurred. Based on the research results, there is an increase in the form of differences in the average results of students' pretest and posttest, so it can be concluded that the application of the Science Exploration Book can improve students' understanding of science concepts in Class VII on Earth and Solar System material with a low N-Gain Score category. Highlights: Key role of educators, methods, and materials in science concept understanding. Science Exploration Book enhances Class VII students' grasp of Earth and Solar System concepts. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the need for developing digital textbooks as interactive learning aids in the digital era. A survey with a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire was utilized as the research method. The questionnaire was distributed to 40 class VII pupils. Data analysis techniques employ descriptive statistics to identify the primary needs of students, as well as the design and desired interactive elements in digital textbooks. According to the requirements analysis, digital textbooks must have practice questions and answer keys, video and audio, student activity sheets, and relevant pictures. Furthermore, digital textbooks are simple to use, with Indonesian, colorful, easy-to-understand content and easy-to-read font kinds and sizes. These findings will serve as the foundation for the creation of digital textbooks that will improve the efficacy of learning in the digital age. Highlights : Interactive Elements: Digital textbooks should include practice questions, answer keys, multimedia (video and audio), activity sheets, and relevant images. User-Friendly Design: Textbooks need to be easy to use with clear, colorful content, and easy-to-read fonts in the Indonesian language. Abstract

General Background: Science laboratories are essential educational facilities supporting practical activities that connect scientific concepts with hands-on experiences in junior high schools. Specific Background: Effective laboratory management is required to ensure systematic planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation of science practicum activities within school contexts. Knowledge Gap: Despite the availability of laboratory facilities, detailed descriptions of how laboratory management is practically implemented at the junior high school level remain limited, particularly regarding administrative consistency, safety facilities, and evaluation mechanisms. Aims: This study aims to describe the management of a science laboratory in a private junior high school in Sidoarjo as it relates to students’ practical activities. Results: Using a qualitative case study approach, findings indicate that laboratory management has been implemented consistently in planning, organizing, and conducting practicum activities, involving curriculum units, laboratory managers, and science teachers. Practicum schedules were stable, organizational structures were formally established, and practicum implementation followed planned procedures with documented inventories and student reports. However, weaknesses were identified in documentation completeness, flexibility of planning revisions, systematic tool borrowing records, adequacy of safety equipment, and laboratory-specific evaluation forums. Novelty: This study provides an in-depth empirical description of integrated laboratory management practices and their operational challenges within a private junior high school context. Implications: The findings highlight the need for improved administrative documentation, strengthened safety management, and more focused evaluation mechanisms to support sustainable science laboratory operations and practice-based science learning. HighlightS: Laboratory planning and practicum scheduling were conducted collaboratively and applied consistently throughout the academic year. Organizational structures and practicum implementation procedures were formally established but lacked comprehensive administrative records. Evaluation and monitoring were responsive at the school level, yet laboratory-focused reporting and safety provisions remained limited.
