Abstract

The transformation of Islamic higher education institutions in Indonesia has become increasingly urgent as newly established universities face growing pressures to achieve academic excellence, strengthen governance, and enhance global competitiveness while maintaining their religious and cultural identity. Despite this urgency, empirical studies examining how value-based transformational management operates in emerging Islamic universities remain limited, particularly within Nahdlatul Ulama (NU)-affiliated institutions, such as Universitas Ma’arif Lampung (UMALA). This study investigates transformational management practices at UMALA, a newly established Islamic university, by examining how strategic leadership, internal quality assurance, cultural integration, and international collaboration function as interrelated pillars of institutional transformation. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with university leaders and academic staff, document analysis of strategic plans, quality assurance reports, and cooperation agreements, as well as participant observation of institutional activities. The findings reveal that UMALA’s strategic leadership is deeply grounded in NU values of tawassuth (moderation), tasamuh (tolerance), and tawazun (balance), which shape participatory governance and ethical decision-making. The implementation of a digitally supported Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) has strengthened academic accountability, improved accreditation outcomes, and fostered a research-oriented culture. Cultural integration is systematically embedded in the curriculum and campus life, reinforcing institutional identity while supporting modernization. Furthermore, sustained national and international collaborations have expanded UMALA’s academic visibility and contributed to its regional and global engagement. This study highlights the need for developing context-sensitive, value-based management models in Islamic higher education. It contributes to the discussion on how faith-based universities can achieve sustainable academic excellence and global relevance without compromising cultural authenticity.

Abstract

Di era transformasi digital saat ini, keterampilan literasi numerasi dan adaptivitas teknologi menjadi kompetensi krusial bagi siswa, di mana pengajaran berbasis media visual interaktif dipandang sebagai strategi kreatif dan efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena adanya kesenjangan antara penguasaan konsep geometri teoretis dan implementasi praktisnya dalam kewirausahaan vokasi, yang selama ini cenderung menggunakan metode konvensional. Pengajaran ini mengevaluasi desain media fungsional dan dampaknya terhadap pemahaman kognitif serta keterampilan psikomotorik siswa dalam mengonversi aset visual menjadi nilai ekonomi, khususnya pada pengembangan kemandirian bisnis. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah menganalisis kebutuhan dan merancang desain komunikasi visual media Geo-Cost sebagai model pembelajaran geometri berbasis Android. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model 4D (difokuskan pada tahap Define dan Design), menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam dan observasi lapangan pada subjek yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Perangkat yang dikembangkan berupa aplikasi mobile berbasis Android dengan arsitektur antarmuka yang intuitif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan prototipe Geo-Cost memberikan dampak positif signifikan dalam mempermudah visualisasi geometri dan akurasi perhitungan biaya produksi. Scaffolding dalam bentuk panduan visual fungsional menjadi variabel utama yang memengaruhi efektivitas belajar, sementara ditemukan bahwa latar belakang teknis siswa tidak berpengaruh besar terhadap kemampuan penggunaan aplikasi karena desain visual yang adaptif. Kesimpulannya, media Geo-Cost berimplikasi pada peningkatan literasi numerasi digital dan efisiensi manajemen usaha bagi siswa di lingkungan pendidikan vokasi.

Abstract

Students' mathematical communication skills are crucial for supporting conceptual understanding and problem solving in mathematics. However, many students still experience difficulties in relating mathematical ideas to everyday situations and clearly explaining mathematical concepts and relationships. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) learning model combined with the JKT 48 song "Fortune Cookie" in improving students' mathematical communication skills. Unlike previous studies that used a qualitative approach, this study employed a quantitative method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The subjects were 23 seventh-grade students at MTs Ma'arif Roudlotut Tholibin Metro. The research instrument was a descriptive test administered before and after the treatment to measure improvements in mathematical communication skills. Data analysis using a paired-sample t-test showed a significant improvement in students' mathematical communication skills after the implementation of the song-assisted AIR model. The average pretest score of 19.21 increased to 81.73 in the posttest. These results indicate that integrating the AIR model with popular songs can be an effective innovation in enjoyable and meaningful mathematics learning

Abstract

Numeracy literacy is a fundamental skill for early childhood to understand basic quantitative concepts relevant to daily life, including simple entrepreneurial contexts that foster an entrepreneurial mindset from an early age. However, conventional learning methods often fail to connect abstract mathematical concepts with practical, engaging applications, necessitating the development of innovative learning media. This study aims to conduct the initial development stage of an educational mobile game called "NumBiz Kidz" based on simple entrepreneurship contexts to enhance early childhood numeracy literacy, with a primary focus on the Define stage (Needs Analysis) of the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the 4D model, limited to the Define stage. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews with early childhood teachers and education experts, and document review of curricula, social arithmetic materials, and entrepreneurship case studies from broiler chicken MSMEs in Tembokrejo, Pasuruan. Instruments included observation sheets, semi-structured interview guidelines, and a document review matrix. Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods following Miles and Huberman's interactive model. The findings from the Define stage revealed high urgency for technology-based learning media (mobile games) that explicitly integrate basic numeracy literacy with simple entrepreneurship concepts (e.g., buying and selling, profit, loss) that are contextual and appropriate for early childhood characteristics. Learner analysis indicated that children preferred bright colors (40%), cute characters (35%), and instant rewards (25%). Task analysis produced a simplification matrix that transformed real business concepts (e.g., strategic profit optimization, cost of goods sold calculation, change calculation) into game missions that teach addition, subtraction, quantity comparison, and duration concepts. The final output is a Product Specification Blueprint including functional requirements (simple store, inventory, change calculator, coin leaderboard) and non-functional requirements (Android/iOS platform, 2D animation, inclusive characters).

Abstract

Fenomena viralitas iklan "OBH Combi Sachet" di platform TikTok telah menciptakan pergeseran paradigma dalam pola konsumsi informasi digital di kalangan generasi muda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendekonstruksi pola algoritma viralitas tersebut serta menganalisis relevansinya terhadap strategi komunikasi dan literasi digital dalam ekosistem pendidikan tinggi masa kini. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian netnografi, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi mendalam dan dokumentasi sistematis terhadap konten video yang memiliki engagement tinggi di media sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa narasi pendek yang menggunakan teknik hook repetitif, seperti frasa "uhuk-uhuk" dan "sat-set", terbukti sangat efektif dalam menarik perhatian audiens secara masif. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa pola komunikasi viral tersebut dapat diadaptasi sebagai strategi pedagogis inovatif untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran digital. Dengan demikian, institusi pendidikan perlu mempertimbangkan adopsi elemen viralitas dalam penyusunan media ajar agar informasi lebih mudah dicerna dan relevan dengan gaya belajar mahasiswa di era disrupsi.
