Abstract

The development of the Solo Baru and Kartasura Regions provides support for the economic growth of Sukoharjo Regency and Solo City. The concept of the Solo Baru and Kartasura Regions as independent satellite cities with the concept of settlements supported by the availability of supporting facilities will impact on land use changes. Changes in land use have an impact on the agricultural sector. The existence of the agricultural sector as a provider of national food barns in Sukoharjo Regency is increasingly threatened because agricultural land has changed its function to become a non-agricultural industrial area. Farmer empowerment is an important concern to deal with these changing conditions. The involvement of farmers as independent agriculture instructors is an alternative solution for empowering farmers. This alternative solution is in accordance with Law Number 16 of 2006 concerning Agricultural, Fisheries and Forestry Extension Systems. This study aims to describe the role of independent agriculture instructors in supporting the protection of sustainable agricultural land due to the development of the New Solo Region in Sukoharjo Regency. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach, data collected through interviews, observation, Focus group discussions (FGD), and documentation. Self-supporting Agricultural Extension Workers have 3 (three) roles. First, the distribution of government program information to farmer group members in each sub-district. Second, strengthening the bargaining position of farmers to the government and the private sector. Third, organizing farmer groups through the management of Microfinance Institutions; farm business facilitators; and conducting farmer group visiting activities.

Abstract

Natural resource management problems occur because the value of environmental services is often ignored compared to economic commodities, thus increasing pressure and degradation on the National Park forest area. This study analyzes the economic valuation of Mount Merbabu National Park to determine its estimated Total Economic Value (TEV), comprising direct use value (timber, non-timber products, water consumption), indirect use value (soil and water conservation, carbon sequestration, flood prevention, water transportation, and biodiversity), and non use value (option and existence value) as a quantitative basis for sustainability planning. The novelty of this study lies in the first application of the benefit transfer method to Mount Merbabu National Park, transferring reference values from the Food and Agriculture Organization (2009) report on Indonesian Conservation Forests by adjusting for an average inflation rate of 5.28% over the 23 years (2002–2025) and scaling to the park’s specific area of 5,820.49 ha. The findings estimate the 2025 economic value of the park at 82,894.81 US$/ha. Notably, Use Value dominates this figure at 77,382.23 US$ / ha, driven primarily by water consumption (32,795.54 US$/ha) and flood prevention (16,383.93 US$/ha), highlighting the vital role of direct and indirect ecological functions for the surrounding community.

Abstract

Indonesia's creative economy industry has occupied a strategic position as a major contributor to the national economy, with its contribution to Gross Domestic Product steadily increasing over the past decade. This study aims to analyze the competitiveness of Indonesia's creative economy industry in the global market using the Structure-Conduct-Performance (SCP) approach. The SCP framework was chosen because it allows for a comprehensive analysis of market structure characteristics, industry player behavior, and resulting performance achievements. The method used is a descriptive qualitative method based on a systematic literature study by searching sources from Google Scholar, Scopus, and ScienceDirect for the period 2018 to 2026. The results show that the industry's competitiveness is influenced not only by market structure but also by the ability of entrepreneurs to innovate, utilize digital technology, and create products with unique and strong identities. These factors are the main drivers of increased competitiveness amidst increasingly dynamic global competition. Therefore, the government needs to strengthen its role as a facilitator by providing a conducive business climate, simplifying regulations, and increasing business access to global markets. Furthermore, it is necessary to develop creative economy centers in various regions that are connected to local potential and international market needs. As a policymaker, the government needs to expand collaboration with the private sector, universities, and creative communities to strengthen the industry ecosystem. With the support of targeted policies and synergy between stakeholders, the creative industry has a significant opportunity to increase competitiveness and become a leading sector in driving national economic growth in the future.

Abstract

able consumption has become a strategic issue in economic research due to the increasing urgency of environmental crises, climate change, and shifts in consumer behavior toward more responsible consumption patterns. These complex challenges highlight the need for a comprehensive scientific mapping to understand research trends, allocation patterns, and conceptual developments in this field. This study aims to examine research trends, allocation patterns, and implications related to sustainable consumption in economics in order to identify future research directions and strengthen theoretical contributions. The study applies a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on the PRISMA framework to systematically identify and select relevant studies. A total of 174 articles indexed in the Scopus database were analyzed. Bibliometric analysis was conducted using VOSviewer to map global academic collaboration networks, research clusters, and thematic developments. The findings indicate that sustainable consumption continues to hold strong research significance and future relevance, driven by the urgency of environmental crises and evolving consumer behavior. The global academic collaboration map is dominated by European countries, with a primary focus on developing quantitatively measurable evaluation models. The literature also emphasizes the need for standardizing comprehensive evaluation metrics, such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Material Flow Analysis (MFA). Theoretically, future research should prioritize the standardization and integration of evaluation metrics to strengthen the validity and comparability of sustainable consumption measurements. Practically, the implementation of a circular economy system requires technological innovation and cross-sector collaboration to bridge the gap between consumer attitudes and actual sustainable consumption behavior

Abstract

Abstract

The rapid growth of coffee shops in major cities has occurred alongside the rise of running culture (run clubs) among urban communities, particularly Generation Z. The phenomenon of “post-run coffee” the habit of stopping by a coffee shop after a running session has become a new touch point between sports communities and small and medium coffee shop enterprises (UMKM). This study aims to analyze the influence of post-run coffee on the sustainability of coffee shop UMKM through the consumer behavior of Generation Z, using the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) framework, in which post-run coffee is positioned as the stimulus, Generation Z's behavior and purchase decisions as the organism-response, and UMKM sustainability as the outcome. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach through informal, unstructured interviews with 33 members of running communities across several major cities. The results reveal two behavioral patterns: a tendency to visit the same familiar coffee shop (fixed spot) and a tendency to switch between coffee shops depending on the running route (varied spot), as well as the role of community bonus or membership programs in encouraging repeat visits. A scatter plot of the 33 informants indicates that runners who are community members or regular customers show a stronger relationship between running frequency and post-run visit frequency compared to general runners. These findings suggest that partnerships between coffee shop UMKM and running communities, supported by relevant loyalty programs, can serve as a viable business sustainability strategy amid intense competition in the coffee shop industry.
