Abstract

Strategic management in Islamic education has become a crucial aspect in facing global dynamics that demand educational institutions to excel and be competitive. This study aims to examine the concepts and practices of strategic management as an effort to improve the quality of Islamic education that is adaptive and responsive to contemporary challenges. The research method employs a literature study approach with a descriptive-analytical type, utilizing scientific literature, journals, and related documents on strategic management and Islamic education. The main findings indicate that integrating Islamic principles with modern strategic management theories can produce an effective management model in administering Islamic educational institutions. The study identifies key factors for success, such as clear planning vision, involvement of all stakeholders, and technology-based educational innovation. The conclusion emphasizes the urgency of strategic management as a foundation for the development of Islamic education that is not only academically oriented but also grounded in spiritual and character values. This study strengthens both the theoretical and practical basis for the development of excellent and competitive Islamic education management, while also opening avenues for further studies on real-world implementation.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi permasalahan serta mengoptimalkan sinkronisasi data antara Education Management Information System (EMIS) dan Pangkalan Data Ujian Madrasah (PDUM) dalam mendukung tata kelola madrasah secara digital. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan pendekatan observasional (semi-action), yang menekankan pada keterlibatan partisipatif melalui tahapan diagnosis, perencanaan, aksi terbatas, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara semi-terstruktur, dokumentasi, dan diskusi partisipatif. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun EMIS dan PDUM secara konseptual terintegrasi, implementasinya belum optimal akibat ketidaksesuaian data, perbedaan waktu penginputan, serta keterbatasan teknis sistem. Selain itu, faktor sumber daya manusia turut memengaruhi kualitas pengelolaan data. Madrasah telah memiliki Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP) serta mengikuti pelatihan yang diselenggarakan oleh Kementerian Agama baik secara daring maupun luring, namun efektivitas implementasinya masih perlu ditingkatkan. Melalui pendekatan partisipatif, kegiatan ini menghasilkan solusi praktis berupa peningkatan validasi data, penggunaan checklist kontrol, dan penguatan koordinasi antar operator. Dengan demikian, optimalisasi sinkronisasi data tidak hanya bergantung pada sistem dan kebijakan, tetapi juga pada penguatan implementasi di tingkat operasional guna mewujudkan tata kelola madrasah digital yang efektif, akurat, dan akuntabel. Abstract

A study of the philosophy of educational research shows a shift in paradigm from a single approach to an integrative approach that tries to combine scientific rationality, reflective meaning-making, and ethical values. This research aims to examine the conceptual development, paradigm foundations, and implications of applying an integrative approach in the philosophy of educational research during the period 2010–2025. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by analyzing 15 articles from reputable national and international journals. The review process includes stages of identification, screening, quality assessment, and thematic synthesis based on three main research questions. The results show that the integrative approach has developed from paradigm pluralism toward an epistemological synthesis that combines empirical, interpretive, critical, and spiritual elements. In a broad sense, this approach is based on a pluralistic ontology, a synthetic epistemology, and a humanistic–spiritual axiology that values meaning and significance as part of the construction of knowledge. You can see its practical implications in the emergence of reflective research designs like transformative mixed methods and Islamic integrative frameworks, which aim to balance scientific knowledge with human values. So, this integrative approach plays an important role in developing an educational research philosophy that’s more inclusive, reflective, and relevant to today’s social–spiritual context.
