Abstract

ABSTRACT Healthcare facilities have the potential to be reservoirs for various pathogenic microorganisms that can cause nosocomial infections. The presence of microorganisms on the surfaces of medical devices, treatment rooms, and ambient air can increase the risk of disease transmission to patients and healthcare workers. This study aims to identify and characterize pathogenic microorganisms found in healthcare environments. The study used a descriptive laboratory design with an observational approach. Samples were taken from treatment table surfaces, door handles, medical devices, and room air using swab and air sedimentation methods. Identification was carried out through culture examination, Gram staining, and biochemical tests. The results showed the presence of pathogenic bacterial isolates such as Staphylococcus aureus. aureus, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Some isolates showed resistance to certain antibiotics. It was concluded that healthcare environments have the potential to be a source of infection transmission, necessitating strict infection monitoring and control. Abstract

Hand hygiene is one of the most effective interventions in preventing the transmission of pathogenic microorganisms in healthcare facilities. The hands of healthcare workers can transmit microorganisms that cause nosocomial infections if standard hand hygiene practices are not followed. This study aimed to analyze the role of hand hygiene in reducing microbial contamination. The study used a quasi-independent design. This study used a pretest - posttest approach . The study sample consisted of 40 healthcare workers who underwent hand swab tests before and after hand hygiene measures according to WHO standards. Microorganism identification was performed through culture and Gram staining. The results showed a significant decrease in the number of microorganism colonies after hand hygiene (p < 0.05). It was concluded that hand hygiene plays an important role in reducing microorganism contamination and supporting the prevention of healthcare-associated infections.

Abstract

Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) is a form of natural resource utilization that plays a role in public health promotion and prevention efforts. Utilization of TOGA can increase family independence in maintaining health and reduce dependence on synthetic drugs for minor complaints. This study aims to analyze the level of TOGA utilization and its impact on improving family health. The study used a descriptive analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 60 heads of families who have TOGA plants in region X. Data were collected through questionnaires and direct observation. The results showed that 75% of respondents utilized TOGA for minor complaints such as coughs, fevers, and digestive disorders. Utilization of TOGA is associated with increased healthy living behavior and decreased use of chemical drugs for minor complaints (p < 0.05). It is concluded that TOGA plays an important role in supporting efforts to improve family health.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Triage implementation is an important process in Emergency Department (ER) services to determine the priority of patient care based on the level of emergency. The accuracy of triage implementation greatly affects the efficiency of services and patient waiting time in receiving medical treatment. This study aims to determine the relationship between the accuracy of triage implementation and patient waiting time in the Emergency Department (ER). The study used an analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 70 patients who came to the ER and were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through observation and recording of patient medical records. Data analysis used the chi-square test. The results showed that patients with appropriate triage had a faster waiting time than patients with inappropriate triage. The results of the statistical test showed a p value = 0.021 (p < 0.05). It was concluded that there was a significant relationship between the accuracy of triage implementation and patient waiting time in the ER. Abstract

ABSTRACT Burnout is a condition of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion often experienced by healthcare workers due to high work pressure. Nurses working in intensive care units... Care Unit (ICU) has a high risk of experiencing burnout due to complex work demands and responsibilities in caring for critical patients. Burnout in nurses can affect the quality of nursing care provided to patients. This study aims to determine the relationship between the burnout level of ICU nurses and the quality of nursing care in critical patients. The study used an analytical design with a cross-sectional approach . The study sample consisted of 50 ICU nurses selected using a total sampling technique. Burnout was measured using the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) questionnaire, while the quality of nursing care was assessed through a standard nursing service observation sheet. Data analysis used the chi-square test . The results showed that nurses with high burnout levels had lower quality of nursing care than nurses with low burnout levels. The statistical test results showed a p value = 0.021 (p < 0.05). It was concluded that there is a significant relationship between the burnout level of ICU nurses and the quality of nursing care in critical patients. Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze social interaction between healthcare workers and patients in healthcare Social services interaction plays a crucial role in determining service quality and patient satisfaction . This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach , with data collected through in- depth interviews , observations , and documentation . The results show that effective communication , empathy , and professional attitudes of healthcare workers significantly influence patient trust and comfort . Social interaction occurs in both verbal and nonverbal forms , where clear explanations and supportive body language enhance patient understanding . However , several barriers were identified , including limited consultation time , high workload , and differences in social and cultural backgrounds . Furthermore , the findings indicate a significant relationship between the quality of social interaction and patient satisfaction , as supported by a Chi- Square analysis . Good interaction improves patient compliance , reduces anxiety , and enhances overall healthcare outcomes . Therefore , improving interpersonal communication skills among healthcare workers is essential to achieve better healthcare service quality . Abstract

ABSTRACT Health promotion is a crucial effort to improve public health through changes in healthy lifestyle behaviors. Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) is a crucial indicator in creating a healthy and productive society. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of health promotion in improving PHBS in the community. This research uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design through the one-way method. group pretest-posttest The research sample consisted of 40 respondents selected using purposive sampling techniques . Data were collected using a questionnaire regarding PHBS knowledge and behavior before and after health promotion. Data analysis was performed using a Paired T- test . The results of the study showed an increase in the average PHBS score of the community after health promotion. The average score before the intervention was 58.40, increasing to 82.15 after the intervention. The statistical test results showed a p value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of health promotion on improving PHBS in the community. It was concluded that health promotion is effective in increasing clean and healthy living behaviors in the community. Therefore, health promotion activities need to be carried out continuously to increase public awareness and healthy behaviors. Abstract

Background: Domestic waste is one of the major environmental pollutants generated from household activities, including wastewater, kitchen waste, detergents, and organic waste. Improper domestic waste management can reduce water quality around residential areas and negatively affect public health and aquatic ecosystems. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between domestic waste management and water quality around residential areas. Methods: This study used an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The research was conducted in residential areas with high domestic activity. Data regarding domestic waste management were collected through observation sheets and questionnaires, while water quality was assessed through physical, chemical, and biological examinations. Parameters analyzed included temperature, color, odor, pH, Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Suspended Solid (TSS), and coliform bacteria levels. The data were analyzed using correlation and regression analysis. Results: The results showed that most households had inadequate domestic waste management practices. Poor waste management was associated with declining water quality, indicated by increased BOD, COD, TSS, and coliform bacteria levels. Statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between domestic waste management and water quality (p<0.05). Conclusion: Improper domestic waste management contributes to water quality degradation around residential areas. Improving household waste management systems is necessary to maintain environmental quality and reduce public health risks.
