Abstract

One indicator of achieving good child and family health is optimal child growth and development. However, parents are often unaware of delays in their children’s development. Common disorders include physical growth, motor, language, and behavioral problems. Based on the 2023 Riskesdas survey, among 82,661 infants and toddlers weighed nationwide, the prevalence of underweight was 19.6%, consisting of 5.7% severe and 13.9% moderate malnutrition.Families with toddlers need adequate education to monitor and stimulate growth and development effectively. Promotive and preventive efforts through community service activities are important strategies to improve child health outcomes. This activity aimed to enhance family knowledge and support early detection of children’s growth, development, and nutritional status. The program was conducted on January 25, 2026, in Rejomulyo Village, Kediri City, targeting families with infants and toddlers. Activities included growth and development screening, nutritional status assessment, developmental stimulation through educational games, and education on Clean and Healthy Living Behaviors (PHBS), food safety, and child-friendly environments. Supporting tools included booklets, knowledge questionnaires, and the Pre-Development Screening Questionnaire (KPSP) instrument. The results showed high participant attendance and strong community enthusiasm. No cases of developmental delay or stunting were identified. Families’ knowledge regarding child health, nutrition, and PHBS improved after the intervention. This activity effectively increased family awareness of monitoring child growth and implementing healthy living practices to support optimal child development.

Abstract

Mental health problems have become an increasing global health challenge and are closely related to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, which emphasizes the importance of promoting mental health and psychological well-being for all individuals. Knowledge and ability in managing community mental health problems are important factors in the success of mental health services. Lack of competence may increase anxiety, which can eventually lead to depression among team members. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between knowledge and the ability to manage community mental health problems and depression levels among Community Mental Health Implementation Teams. This study used a quantitative correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of all Community Mental Health Implementation Team (TPKJM) members, totaling 184 individuals, and 64 respondents were selected using proportional simple random sampling. To ensure data quality, the questionnaire was tested for validity and reliability, yielding validity values above 0.516 and a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.96. Depression levels were measured using the Patient Health Questionnaire-9. The results showed that 98% of respondents had good knowledge, 95% had good ability, 44% had no depression, and 41% experienced minimal depression. The correlation test between knowledge and depression level showed a p-value = 0.024, while the correlation between ability and depression level showed a p-value of 0.036 (0.05). These findings indicate a significant relationship between knowledge and ability with depression levels among TPKJM members. Adequate knowledge and abilities among TPKJM members can help the team become more prepared and confident in carrying out their duties optimally, thereby reducing anxiety and minimizing depression.

Abstract

Knowledge of first aid for drowning victims among communities near water attractions is essential to improve the success of assistance, especially for tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis). Proper first aid knowledge is necessary to the reduce mortality and morbidity of accident victims, as the level of knowledge will affect the handling techniques for accident victims before they are taken to the hospital. However, currently, very little education is provided to the community as first responders at the scene. Therefore, the PPK ORMAWA BEM STRADA INDONESIA team conducted training on first aid for drowning victims for Pokdarwis and the community around Sumber Complang, Pranggang Village, to increase awareness and success when assistting. This activity aims to determine the relationship between increased knowledge of Pranggang Village Pokdarwis and helping drowning victims using the simulation method. The results obtained show a p-value of 0.004. Since 0.004 is less than < 0.05, it can be concluded that there is a difference in respondents' abilities before and after training. An effective simulation method can easily teach someone to understand new knowledge. These results indicate that the simulation method is very effective in training lay people to perform first aid for drowning victims.
