Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the thrifting phenomenon by examining how fashion trends, price, brand image, and consumer ethnocentrism shape purchase intention toward Indonesian local fashion products. This study employed a quantitative research design with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to consumers who had experience with thrift fashion products. Respondents were selected using purposive sampling based on predetermined criteria. The collected data were analyzed descriptively by calculating the mean score of each indicator and interpreting the results based on predefined scale intervals. The findings reveal that purchase intention toward local Indonesian fashion products is formed through a multidimensional evaluation process involving economic, symbolic, and emotional considerations. Price was identified as an important factor influencing thrift product attractiveness, while brand image showed a relatively moderate role in consumer decision-making. Meanwhile, consumer ethnocentrism demonstrated positive support for local fashion products without eliminating interest in thrift alternatives. This study implies that local fashion businesses should strengthen product quality, brand value, and consumer attachment to compete within the growing thrift fashion market. The findings contribute to a broader understanding of consumer behavior by highlighting the coexistence between thrift culture and local fashion preference.

Abstract

The global fast-food industry continues to experience significant growth, with Indonesia emerging as a strategic market. However, KFC faces serious challenges due to boycott calls related to global geopolitical issues. This study aims to analyze the effects of consumer animosity and negative electronic word of mouth (negative e-WOM) on purchase intention, with brand image as a mediating variable in the context of KFC Indonesia. A quantitative approach was employed using an online survey of 200 Indonesian respondents who were aware of the boycott issue involving KFC. Data were analyzed using SmartPLS version 4.0 with the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The results indicate that consumer animosity and negative e-WOM have significant negative effects on brand image. Negative e-WOM significantly influences purchase intention, while consumer animosity does not have a significant direct effect. Nevertheless, brand image plays a significant mediating role in the relationships among the variables. These findings highlight the critical role of brand image in shaping consumer perceptions and behavioral intentions. Strategically, KFC Indonesia needs to strengthen brand image, enhance reputation recovery efforts, and manage public perceptions more effectively to reduce the negative impact of adverse information and consumer sentiment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Local Fried Chicken Attractiveness and Brand Prestige on Repurchase Intention toward Western fried chicken fast-food brands in Indonesia, with Customer Satisfaction acting as a mediating variable. A quantitative survey design was employed by collecting data from 200 Indonesian consumers who had experience consuming both local and Western fried chicken products. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The findings indicate that the attractiveness of local fried chicken alternatives tends to reduce consumers’ satisfaction with Western fried chicken, while brand prestige positively enhances customer satisfaction and repurchase intention. Furthermore, customer satisfaction plays a crucial mediating role in translating brand perceptions and competitive attractiveness into repurchase intention. This research contributes to consumer behavior literature by extending Alternative Attractiveness Theory and Expectation–Confirmation Theory in the context of the Indonesian fast-food industry, particularly in explaining how competitive pressure from local brands and symbolic brand value influence consumers’ repurchase behavior.

Abstract

Roblox has evolved into a digital platform that combines gaming, social interaction, and a virtual economy centered on the in-game currency, Robux. In this environment, players are frequently exposed to community trends, peer influence, and time-limited virtual items that may encourage virtual purchasing behavior. Despite many users being teenagers or young adults with limited income sources, Robux purchases remain common, suggesting that psychological and social factors may strongly influence purchasing decisions. Therefore, this study aims to examine the influence of perceived enjoyment, electronic word of mouth (eWOM), and social influence on Robux purchase intention, with attitude acting as a mediating variable among Roblox players in Indonesia. A quantitative research approach was employed, utilizing an online questionnaire distributed through social media and Roblox communities. Data from 172 respondents were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4. The findings indicate that perceived enjoyment, eWOM, and social influence significantly affect attitude. Attitude exerts a strong positive effect on purchase intention and mediates the relationship between the independent variables and purchase intention. Among the variables examined, social influence is the most dominant factor shaping attitudes toward Robux purchases. These results underscore the significance of social interaction, community influence, and perceived enjoyment in shaping virtual purchase behavior within online gaming ecosystems.

Abstract

Indomie Korean Ramyeon was introduced in response to the high consumption of instant noodles and the growing popularity of Korean culture in Indonesia. Increasing market competition requires companies to understand the key factors that drive consumers’ repurchase intention. This study aims to analyze the influence of Korean Wave, Price Perception, and Perceived Quality on Repurchase Intention, with Customer Satisfaction as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed using an online survey of 200 respondents who had previously consumed the product. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4, and mediation effects were tested using bootstrapping. The results indicate that Korean Wave, Price Perception, and Perceived Quality have positive and significant effects on both Customer Satisfaction and Repurchase Intention. Furthermore, Customer Satisfaction mediates the relationship between Price Perception and Perceived Quality on Repurchase Intention, but does not mediate the effect of Korean Wave. These findings suggest that the Korean Wave acts as a direct driver of repurchase intention, while customer satisfaction is more strongly influenced by perceived price and product quality. Therefore, companies should maintain product quality and price-value alignment while leveraging Korean cultural trends as a marketing strategy to enhance repurchase intention.
