Abstract

Radicalism developing within religious educational institutions poses a serious threat and challenge to social life and harmony. Religious institutions, which should serve as spaces for character building and spirituality, have the potential to become fertile ground for the spread of extremist ideologies and hatred. The failure to integrate universal human values and theology that respects others is one of the main causes of the weakness of religious organisations. Moreover, the phenomenon of increasing intolerance among the younger religious generation shows a crisis in moral leadership and education based on religious teachings. This study aims to examine the strategic role of Christian leadership and human rights education as a theological approach to countering radicalism in religious educational institutions. Using a descriptive qualitative method based on literature review, it can be concluded that the role of Christian leadership theology as the foundation of anti-radicalism and human rights education from a Christian theological perspective are interdependent elements that must be integrated, encompassing both Christian leadership and human rights education. This serves as a preventive theological strategy, thereby presenting both the value of implementation and the challenges of theological strategy within religious educational institutions.

Abstract

Advanced digital and communication technologies have brought about significant changes in the fields of education and spirituality. However, behind the ease of access to information and communication lies a serious issue: a mental health crisis among students who are addicted to digital devices. This has led to many of them feeling spiritually exhausted and even experiencing emotional burnout. Religious education, which has traditionally focused on cognitive aspects, is deemed insufficiently responsive to the spiritual needs of students. This study aims to reconstruct a Christian religious education approach grounded in theology to facilitate spiritual recovery through digital detoxification practices. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature review approach. It can be concluded that digital detoxification can be an effective spiritual tool in freeing students from the pressures of digital addiction. Therefore, understanding the digital era and the mental health crisis among students must be prioritised. Furthermore, the concepts of theology and spirituality of recovery in Christian education must be able to detoxify digital as a process of Christian spirituality. Thus, this can reconstruct and integrate the Christian religious education curriculum in spiritual recovery.

Abstract

Transhumanism promises a life without limits, enhanced intelligence, and even immortality, increasingly influencing Generation Z's perspective in shaping their identity and spirituality. This study aims to analyze the influence of transhumanist narratives on Generation Z's worldview within the context of their identity as God's creation, and to develop relevant theological reflections to strengthen Generation Z's faith formation amid the challenges of digital culture and contemporary technological ideologies. A qualitative research method based on literature review was used in this study, exploring theological sources, the Bible as the primary source, books, articles, and internet websites. The results of the study indicate that transhumanism obscures the essence of humanity as God's creation, reduces spiritual identity to a mere technological enhancement project, and offers false salvation outside of Christ's redemptive work. Theological reflection rooted in the doctrines of creation, the incarnation of Christ, and the resurrection affirms that human identity is determined by one's relationship with God, not by technological autonomy. This study concludes that the church and Christian faith education must be present in a contextual and prophetic manner in guiding Generation Z to reject the transhumanist narrative and grow in true faith. AbstrakTranshumanisme menjanjikan kehidupan tanpa batas, peningkatan kecerdasan, dan bahkan keabadian, yang kian memengaruhi cara pandang Generasi Z dalam membentuk identitas diri dan spiritualitas mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh narasi transhumanisme terhadap pola pikir Generasi Z dalam konteks identitasnya sebagai ciptaan Allah, serta menyusun refleksi teologis yang relevan untuk memperkuat formasi iman Generasi Z di tengah tantangan budaya digital dan ideologi teknologi masa kini. Metode penelitian kualitatif berbasis studi pustaka digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan mengeksplorasi sumber-sumber teologi, Alkitab sumber utama, buku, artikel dan website internet. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa transhumanisme mengaburkan hakikat manusia sebagai ciptaan Allah, mereduksi identitas spiritual menjadi proyek peningkatan teknologis semata, dan menawarkan keselamatan palsu di luar karya penebusan Kristus. Refleksi teologis yang berakar pada doktrin penciptaan, inkarnasi Kristus, dan kebangkitan, menegaskan bahwa identitas manusia ditentukan oleh relasi dengan Allah, bukan oleh otonomi teknologi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa gereja dan pendidikan iman Kristen harus hadir secara kontekstual dan profetis dalam membimbing Generasi Z agar mampu menolak narasi transhumanisme serta bertumbuh dalam iman yang sejati.Kata Kunci: Teknologi, Transhumanisme, Generasi Z, Imago Dei, Kristus

Abstract

This article discusses the role of the Holy Spirit in the process of Christian character formation. Through theological studies and literature studies, the author investigates various important aspects of how the Holy Spirit works in the life of a Christian, influencing the understanding of sanctification, growth of faith, and character formation that reflects the nature of Christ. The purpose of this study is to explore and understand how the Holy Spirit works in the lives of Christians, especially in the process of character formation that reflects the nature of Christ. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature review approach to analyze various relevant literature. The results of this study indicate that the contribution of the Holy Spirit in changing, guiding, and strengthening believers in their efforts to live according to Christian principles to become more like Christ, both in thoughts, feelings, and actions. AbstrakArtikel ini membahas peran Roh Kudus dalam proses pembentukan karakter Kristiani. Melalui kajian teologis dan studi literatur, penulis mengidentifikasi berbagai aspek penting bagaimana Roh Kudus bekerja dalam kehidupan seorang Kristen, mempengaruhi pemahaman tentang pengudusan, pertumbuhan iman, dan pembentukan karakter yang mencerminkan sifat Kristus..Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggali dan memahami bagaimana Roh Kudus bekerja dalam kehidupan orang Kristen, khususnya dalam proses pembentukan karakter yang mencerminkan sifat Kristus. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan tinjauan pustaka untuk menganalisis berbagai literatur yang relevan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kontribusi Roh Kudus dalam mengubah, membimbing, dan menguatkan umat percaya dalam upaya mereka untuk hidup sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip Kristen agar semakin serupa dengan Kristus, baik dalam pikiran, perasaan, maupun tindakan.Kata Kunci: Roh Kudus, karakter Kristiani, pembentukan karakter, teologi Kristen.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the dynamics of digital ecclesiology and the banality of spirituality in Christian pastoral leadership in an era of disruption, highlighting the impact of technological transformation on the depth of faith and contemporary church practices. The method employed is descriptive qualitative research through a literature review, examining various theological texts, academic journals, and relevant sources to gain a comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon. The findings indicate that the development of the digital space has driven the expansion of church ministry, yet simultaneously given rise to a tendency towards instant, consumerist, and superficial spirituality. Pastoral leadership faces a serious challenge in maintaining a balance between digital relevance and theological depth amidst the dominance of algorithmic logic. These findings underscore the need for a critical and integrative reconstruction of digital ecclesiology through a leadership approach rooted in the values of authentic spirituality. In this way, the church can preserve its theological identity whilst responding to change in an adaptive and transformative manner. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dinamika eklesiologi digital dan banalitas spiritualitas dalam kepemimpinan Kristen pastoral di era disrupsi, dengan menyoroti dampak transformasi teknologi terhadap kedalaman iman dan praktik gerejawi kontemporer. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif melalui studi pustaka, dengan mengkaji berbagai literatur teologis, jurnal ilmiah, dan sumber relevan untuk memperoleh pemahaman komprehensif mengenai fenomena tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan ruang digital mendorong perluasan pelayanan gereja, namun sekaligus memunculkan kecenderungan spiritualitas yang instan, konsumtif, dan dangkal. Kepemimpinan pastoral menghadapi tantangan serius dalam menjaga keseimbangan antara relevansi digital dan kedalaman teologis di tengah dominasi logika algoritma. Temuan ini menegaskan perlunya rekonstruksi eklesiologi digital yang kritis dan integratif melalui pendekatan kepemimpinan yang berakar pada nilai spiritualitas autentik. Dengan demikian, gereja dapat mempertahankan identitas teologisnya sekaligus merespons perubahan secara adaptif dan transformatif.

Abstract

Modern globalisation has brought significant changes to various aspects of life, including social dynamics and religious practices in the church, which demand new theological reflection on gender roles. Gender inequality remains a major issue, with women often experiencing limitations in their access to leadership positions and full participation in church ministry. On the other hand, traditional theology tends to maintain a patriarchal paradigm that limits perspectives on gender equality and influences pastoral practices. This study aims to analyse the contribution of feminist theology in shaping the dynamics of gender equality in church ministry amid modern globalisation. Using a qualitative research method with a literature review approach, it can be concluded that feminist theology serves as a critical framework that challenges patriarchal paradigms in theology and church practice. Through a biblical reinterpretation that is sensitive to women's experiences, feminist theology opens up a space for a more just and equal understanding of gender relations. The dynamics of gender equality in church structures and ministry require institutional and cultural transformation. AbstrakGlobalisasi modern telah membawa perubahan signifikan dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk dinamika sosial dan praktik keagamaan di gereja, yang menuntut refleksi teologis baru terkait peran gender. Ketimpangan gender masih menjadi isu utama, di mana perempuan seringkali mengalami keterbatasan dalam akses terhadap posisi kepemimpinan dan partisipasi penuh dalam pelayanan gereja. Di sisi lain, teologi tradisional cenderung mempertahankan paradigma patriarkal yang membatasi perspektif kesetaraan gender dan mempengaruhi praktik pastoral. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kontribusi teologi feminis dalam membentuk dinamika kesetaraan gender dalam pelayanan gereja di tengah globalisasi modern. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka, dapat disimpulkan bahwa teologi feminis berfungsi sebagai kerangka kritis yang menantang paradigma patriarkal dalam teologi dan praktik gereja. Melalui reinterpretasi biblika yang sensitif terhadap pengalaman perempuan, teologi feminis membuka ruang pemahaman yang lebih adil dan setara terhadap relasi gender. Dinamika kesetaraan gender dalam struktur dan pelayanan gereja menuntut transformasi institusional dan kultural.

Abstract

The digital age is characterised by a constant and massive flow of information, causing humans to experience overstimulation that affects various aspects of life, including spirituality, faith, and mental health. Christianity faces difficulties in maintaining the depth of faith, as spiritual practices that should be contemplative and reflective are displaced by instant culture and religious digitalisation, or addiction to the internet and gadgets. Spirituality, which was once built on a deep relationship with God, now tends to be shallow and routine, lacking focus. The purpose of this study is to analyze the urgency of the church's role in shaping a genuine Christian spirituality amidst digital overstimulation. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach. The study concluded that digital overstimulation contributes to an unconscious spiritual crisis, necessitating an understanding of the nature of digital overstimulation and the disorientation of Christian spirituality. Likewise, Christian mental health and spirituality are situated between the depth of tradition and the challenges of the digital context. Therefore, the church's role in faith formation in an era of overstimulation is crucial for building a contextual and contemplative model of spirituality. Contextual Christian spirituality must guide people to live consciously, be fully present before God, and remain firmly rooted in the Christian faith.AbstrakEra digital ditandai oleh deras dan masifnya arus informasi yang terus-menerus, menyebabkan manusia mengalami overstimulus sehingga memengaruhi berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk spiritualitas, iman dan kesehatan mental. Kekristenan menghadapi kesulitan mempertahankan kedalaman iman, karena praktik-praktik rohani yang seharusnya kontemplatif dan reflektif tergeser oleh budaya instan dan digitalisasi religius ataupun kecanduan internet maupun gadget. Spiritualitas yang dulunya dibangun dalam relasi mendalam dengan Allah kini cenderung dangkal dan rutinitas yang tidak fokus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis urgensi peran gereja dalam membentuk spiritualitas Kristen yang nyata di tengah kondisi overstimulus digital. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa overstimulus digital berkontribusi terhadap krisis spiritual yang tidak disadari dan karenanya perlu memahami hakikat overstimulus digital dan disorientasi spiritualitas Kristen. Demikian pula dengan kesehatan mental dan spiritualitas Kristen yang berada diantara kedalaman tradisi dan tantangan konteks digital. Oleh karena itu, peran gereja dalam pembentukan iman di era overstimulus menjadi sangat penting untuk membangun model spiritualitas kontekstual dan kontemplatif. Spiritualitas Kristen yang kontekstual harus menuntun umat untuk hidup secara sadar, hadir secara utuh di hadapan Allah, serta tetap berakar kuat dalam iman Kristen.

Abstract

The post-truth era presents serious challenges for church education because the truth of faith is increasingly perceived subjectively and emotionally by Generation Z. Church education often experiences a crisis of relevance due to pedagogical approaches that are still doctrinal and instructional, with an emphasis that is less dialogical. This research aims to examine the leadership of Jesus in the Synoptic Gospels as a relevant ecclesiastical pedagogy model in addressing Generation Z in the post-truth era. The research method used is a qualitative approach with literature study and theological analysis of the Synoptic Gospel texts. The conclusion of this research states that the nature of Jesus' leadership in the Synoptic Gospels presents a fundamental theological framework for the formation of faith and ecclesiastical leadership practices. The leadership of Jesus can serve as a model of transformative and dialogical pedagogy, capable of addressing the challenges of Generation Z and the truth crisis in the post-truth era. The implications of these findings indicate that ecclesiastical pedagogy needs to emphasize exemplary conduct, relationships, and real-life experiences to build relevant and contextual faith formation.   Abstrak Era post-truth menghadirkan tantangan serius bagi pendidikan gerejawi karena kebenaran iman semakin dipersepsikan secara subjektif dan emosional oleh Generasi Z. Pendidikan gereja kerap mengalami krisis relevansi akibat pendekatan pedagogis yang masih bersifat doctrinal dan instruksional terlebih penekanannya kurang dialogis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kepemimpinan Yesus dalam Injil Sinoptik sebagai model pedagogi gerejawi yang relevan dalam menghadapi Generasi Z di era post-truth. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi literature dan aanalisis  teologis terhadap teks Injil Sinoptik. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa  hakikat kepemimpinan Yesus dalam Injil Sinoptik menghadirkan kerangka teologis yang mendasar bagi pembentukan iman dan praktik kepemimpinan gerejawi. Kepemimpinan Yesus dapat dijadikan model pedagogi yang transformatif dan dialogis, mampu menjawab tantangan Generasi Z serta krisis kebenaran di era post-truth. Implikasi dari temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pedagogi gerejawi perlu menekankan keteladanan, relasi, dan pengalaman hidup nyata untuk membangun formasi iman yang relevan dan kontekstual.   Kata Kunci: Kepemimpinan Yesus, Injil Sinoptik, Generasi Z, Post-Truth

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi modern telah membawa perubahan mendasar dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan manusia, termasuk dalam ranah keagamaan. Gereja sebagai institusi keagamaan yang memiliki fungsi spiritual dan sosial turut dihadapkan pada tuntutan untuk menyesuaikan diri dengan dinamika digitalisasi yang kian pesat. Pola ibadah, pelayanan pastoral, serta komunikasi antarjemaat yang sebelumnya berpusat pada ruang fisik kini mulai bertransformasi ke dalam bentuk digital yang lebih fleksibel dan interaktif. Fenomena meningkatnya penggunaan media digital oleh gereja dalam menyelenggarakan ibadah daring dan pelayanan rohani menjadi indikasi nyata dari pergeseran paradigma pelayanan keagamaan di era teknologi modern. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis proses transformasi gereja tradisional menuju gereja digital serta implikasinya terhadap kehidupan beriman umat di tengah perubahan sosial-teknologis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui kajian literatur dan analisis fenomenologis. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa transformasi ini bukan sekadar adaptasi teknologis, melainkan strategi eksistensial gereja dalam mempertahankan relevansi dan misi spiritualnya. Digitalisasi memungkinkan gereja menjangkau umat lebih luas, memperkuat partisipasi iman, serta menciptakan model pelayanan baru yang kontekstual dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Abstract: Abstract: This study aims to analyse, from a theological perspective, the impact of developments in financial technology on the financial ethics of ordinary families within the context of the contemporary church, with an emphasis on the integration of faith and economic practice. The methodology employed is descriptive qualitative, utilising a contextual theological approach and Christian ethical analysis based on a review of the literature. The research findings indicate that fintech offers ease of access and financial efficiency, yet it also fuels consumerist behaviour, digital debt dependency, and a weakening of family financial discipline. On the other hand, the church has not yet responded optimally to these changes through systematic and contextual financial ethics education. The integration of Christian economic theology, family ethics and fintech literacy is crucial in fostering critical awareness amongst the congregation. The study’s conclusion emphasises that the church needs to develop a faith-based financial education model that is adaptive, reflective and transformative to strengthen stewardship and the economic stability of families in the digital age.   Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis secara teologis dampak perkembangan teknologi finansial terhadap etika keuangan keluarga sederhana dalam konteks gereja kontemporer, dengan menekankan integrasi antara iman, praktik ekonomi. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif melalui pendekatan teologi kontekstual dan analisis etika Kristen berbasis studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fintech menghadirkan kemudahan akses dan efisiensi keuangan, namun juga memicu perilaku konsumtif,  dan ketergantungan utang digital, serta melemahnya disiplin finansial keluarga. Di sisi lain, gereja belum optimal merespons perubahan ini melalui pendidikan etika keuangan yang sistematis dan kontekstual. Integrasi antara teologi ekonomi Kristen, etika keluarga, dan literasi fintech menjadi penting dalam membentuk kesadaran kritis jemaat. Kesimpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa gereja perlu mengembangkan model edukasi keuangan berbasis iman yang adaptif, reflektif, dan transformatif untuk memperkuat penatalayanan serta stabilitas ekonomi keluarga di era digital.
