Abstract

Pendekatan ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) sangat disarankan dalam pengendalian pajanan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Especially in older individuals, perspective can serve as the basis for health behavior. This perspective measures the extent to which tuberculosis patients adhere to the treatment process based on pre-established guidelines. The presence of a negative patient attitude directly correlates with an increased likelihood of non-adherence to therapy, thereby giving birth to additional complications, such as medication resistance. Investigation of the variables influencing the viewpoint of older individuals with Tuberculosis in Bengkulu City. The research utilised a cross-sectional methodology and included a total of 153 participants in Bengkulu City. The sample selection method utilises a multistage random sampling methodology applied during a research period of one month. The data analysis procedure utilizes both univariate and logistic regression estimation techniques. The findings indicated that almost 50% of the participants were male, nearly 50% had completed primary education, nearly 50% were employed as farmers, nearly 50% were divorced, over 50% earned the Regional Minimum Wage, nearly 50% had limited knowledge, and nearly 50% had a negative outlook. Moreover, the findings indicated a correlation between gender, secondary education, agricultural occupation, marital status, income, and knowledge as perceived by senior individuals with tuberculosis in the Bengkulu City Region, with a statistically significant p-value of less than 0.05. The results suggest a correlation between the viewpoint of the respondent and the elements inherent to him. Hence, in order to shift the respondent's viewpoint towards a favorable one and enhance the patient's own treatment process, it is imperative to have active support from all stakeholders, including the family, the community, and the medical team. The adoption of a positive attitude by patients can foster motivation to comply with the treatment suggestions provided by the doctor, thereby potentially resulting in a reduction in the occurrence of tuberculosis. Improved health of the community can ensue as a consequence. Keywords: Perspective of Older People with Tuberculosis, Gender, Socio-Economics.

Abstract

Fires in coconut plantations, especially on tropical peatlands, cause serious environmental and economic problems. While most studies focus on oil palm, this literature review summarizes the causes, impacts, prevention methods, and restoration strategies specific to coconut plantations. The review shows that fires are mainly triggered by cheap land-clearing practices and the accumulation of dry wastes like husks and fronds, which become highly flammable during El Niño droughts and over-drainage. These fires cause direct palm mortality, reduce crop yields for up to three years, cause peat subsidence, and generate dangerous smoke haze that harms public health. To prevent these fires, strategies like proper water management, community involvement, and satellite or drone monitoring are essential. For post-fire recovery, maintaining the surviving coconut canopy and using coconut fiber as mulch offer cost-effective ways to restore soil and biodiversity. In conclusion, managing fires requires a combination of better waste management, water control, and active community participation.

Abstract

Assessment of the remaining life of a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) that has been in operation for 24 years is crucial to ensure operational reliability, with the ASME FFS-1/API 579 standard as the primary reference. Analyze the material condition and assess the remaining life of HRSG Unit 2 based on the ASME FFS-1/API 579 standard. Data were collected through Non-Destructive Testing (UTM, LPT, MPT, UFD), visual inspection, borescope examination, and in-situ metallurgical tests to obtain microstructure and hardness profiles. The analysis was conducted by comparing inspection results with design specifications, evaluating microstructural changes, assessing hardness degradation, calculating remaining wall thickness, and performing fitness-for-service assessment according to ASME FFS-1/API 579. No significant cracks were found, but there was material thinning of up to 16.6% in some areas. The material condition is still good and meets design standards. The estimated remaining operational life is 10–15 years. HRSG Unit 2 is declared safe and reliable to operate. The ASME-based assessment method has been proven effective for estimating the remaining life and supporting a risk-based maintenance strategy.

Abstract

Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) are chronic health issues frequently experienced by batik workers due to discrepancies between workstation design and anthropometric principles. The process of canting (hand-waxing) involves static postures and repetitive movements that trigger muscle tissue ischemia and lactic acid accumulation. This study aims to identify MSDs complaints in the upper extremities specifically the shoulders, elbows, and wrists hand and analyze the contributing risk factors. This observational study utilized a cross-sectional design involving 166 batik workers in Jarum Village, Klaten. Data were collected through individual characteristic questionnaires (age, years of service, and daily work duration) and the Nordic Body Map (NBM) adopted from the Standardised Nordic questionnaires for the analysis of musculoskeletal symptoms. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test to determine the significance of relationships between variables. The findings indicate that the majority of respondents were aged 45–64 years (59%) with a daily work duration of ≥ 8 hours (56.6%). There was a statistically significant assosiation between age and years of service with wrist-hand pain. The 45–64 age group reported the highest prevalence of wrist pain, reaching 92.9%. Age and years of service are significantly associated with upper extremity musculoskeletal complaints, particularly in the wrist and hand, among batik workers. Ergonomic engineering interventions are necessary to mitigate the risk of injury resulting from poor working postures during the batik-making process.
