Abstract

Abstract: The Sumber Nyolo Natural Sacred Site (NSS) is an area venerated by the local community and characterized by a distinctive plant community structure resembling a forest landscape. This study aims to analyze the role of the Sacred Natural Site (SNS) in plant conservation and ecosystem services, as well as to examine the cultural values of the local community associated with its existence. The research employed a plot sampling method, consisting of four plots distributed throughout the area, with plot sizes of 20 × 20 m for tree-level vegetation, 10 × 10 m for poles, 5 × 5 m for saplings, and 2 × 2 m for seedlings. Data were analyzed descriptively using the Importance Value Index (IVI), Shannon–Wiener diversity index (H’), Evenness index (E), Simpson’s dominance index (C), and endemism (End). A total of 53 plant species belonging to 26 families were recorded in the NSS. At the tree and sapling levels, Syzygium pycnanthum was the dominant species with the highest IVI values. At the pole level, co-dominance occurred among Bambusa blumeana, Dendrocalamus asper, and Syzygium littorale, while Syzygium littorale was dominant at the seedling level with the highest IVI value compared to other species. The plant community in the NSS is categorized as stable, as indicated by H’ values of 3.43 (trees), 3.17 (poles), 4.45 (saplings), and 2.23 (seedlings). Species distribution was relatively even, with E’ values of 0.60 (trees), 0.49 (poles), 0.74 (saplings), and 0.34 (seedlings). Moreover, the absence of a dominant species was indicated by C values approaching zero. Most of the recorded plants were local species with a high endemism rate of 94%. Vegetation in the NSS provides various ecological services, including regulating, provisioning, and supporting services. In addition, the NSS functions as a socio-cultural center for the local community, serving as the venue for traditional events such as the Bersih Desa ceremony.

Abstract

RF Sputtering has been widely used as a deposition system on thin films. This study examines the impact of input power on RF voltage and self-bias voltage in an RF Sputtering system operating at a frequency of 13.56 MHz. Power variations were carried out in the range of 50 to 150 Watts to observe the changes in voltage produced during the plasma formation process. The experimental results indicate a linear dependency between power and both voltages, with a coefficient of determination (R²) above 0.9 and slope values of 2.86 and 0.96 for the RF voltage and self-bias voltage, respectively. The observed linear correlation indicates that adjusting power regulation can be utilized as an effective control parameter for both voltages, enabling the production of uniform and high-quality thin film deposition.

Abstract

This paper compares silver (Ag) and aluminum (Al) as patch materials for a microstrip dipole antenna to examine how their electrical conductivities affect electromagnetic radiation performance. Both antennas were designed with identical geometrical and substrate parameters using the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method, varying only the patch material. Simulation results show that the resonant frequencies are 2.4700 GHz for Ag and 2.4649 GHz for Al, with excellent VSWR values 1.0839 and 1.0836 and return loss below –27 dB. Both materials exhibit reflected power below 0.2% and have nearly identical radiated power, namely 0.3647 W for silver (Ag) and 0.3646 W for aluminum (Al). Overall, silver and aluminum demonstrate almost identical radiation characteristics. Silver offers slightly better conductivity, while aluminum provides similar efficiency at lower cost, making it a practical alternative for lightweight and economical microstrip antenna applications.

Abstract

Abstract: The development of information technology requires the younger generation to have adequate digital literacy skills to utilize it productively and responsibly. However, some teenagers in Kertajaya Village, Surabaya City, still lack knowledge on how to use office applications and how to use the internet healthily. Therefore, community service activities aim to improve adolescent digital literacy through Microsoft Office and healthy internet use. The community service activity method involves several stages: identifying partner problems, coordinating with the village, creating training modules, implementing training, accompanying participants, and monitoring and evaluating activities. The training activities involved 20 teenagers from junior high and high schools in Kertajaya Village through counseling, demonstrations, direct practice, and mentoring. The results of the activities showed that participants understood how to use Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel applications and found wise and healthy ways to use the internet. Participants also showed increased confidence in using digital technology to support learning. Overall, the training activities successfully improved participants' digital literacy, both in terms of technical skills and awareness of using the internet productively and positively.Abstrak: Perkembangan teknologi informasi menuntut generasi muda memiliki kemampuan literasi digital yang memadai agar dapat memanfaatkan teknologi secara produktif dan bertanggungjawab. Abstract

Optical fiber can be used as a sensor because changes in the surrounding medium affect light propagation. This study aims to detect changes in the wavelength of light in optical fiber caused by different sugar solution concentrations using Lagrange interpolation. This study uniquely integrates stripped-cladding optical fiber sensing with Lagrange interpolation to estimate unmeasured wavelength responses across varying sugar concentrations using a safe, environmentally friendly sugar solution. The method involved removing the cladding layer of the optical fiber and applying sugar solutions with concentrations from 44.444% to 54.545%. A 589-nm yellow LED was transmitted through the fiber and measured with a spectrometer. The results showed that increasing sugar concentration reduced the wavelength from 555.26 nm to 546.75 nm. Therefore, this method is effective for detecting changes in solution concentration. Abstract

With the increasing use of communication devices across various regions, antennas with stable signal performance are essential to ensure reliable information transmission. In this study, a microstrip folded-dipole antenna operating in the SHF band was developed using a reconfiguration mechanism based on a 650-nm red laser and metamaterial absorber (MMA). The initial antenna structure was designed and simulated in CST software with a target operating frequency of 9 GHz. Experimental results show that the antenna without a resonator exhibits an operating frequency of 13.77 GHz when the laser is off and 3.15 GHz when the laser is on. When integrated with the resonator, the operating frequencies shift closer to the simulation results, ranging from 15.75 GHz (laser off) to 7.02 GHz (laser on). The return-loss performance also improves with the implementation of the resonator. Without the resonator, the antenna achieves −33 dB return loss in laser-off mode and −34.15 dB in laser-on mode. With the resonator, the return loss values are −21.88 dB (laser off) and −26.61 dB (laser on). These findings indicate that the proposed configuration technique is applicable for outdoor Wi-Fi signal enhancement in the 5 GHz band and as a blind-spot sensing element for automotive radar systems.
