Abstract

Arabic language learning in Islamic elementary schools often faces challenges due to students’ low learning interest, caused by monotonous conventional methods and limited learning media. This study aims to describe the implementation of the singing method (thariqah al-ghina'iyyah) in Arabic learning for Grade 5A at MI Nurul Yaqin Sungai Duren and to analyze how this method stimulates students’ learning interest. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach involving 24 students, one Arabic teacher, and the school principal. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis followed Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the singing method was implemented in three stages: preparation, implementation, and follow-up, applying principles of contextualization, differentiation, and interactivity. The method functions as a multimodal stimulus that lowers the affective filter, strengthens vocabulary memory through dual coding, and fulfills students’ psychological needs for competence, relatedness, and autonomy. The results show a significant increase in learning interest, reflected in students’ enthusiasm, active participation, and attentiveness.

Abstract

This research aims to explore how student administration is implemented to improve service efficiency at SMK Negeri 4 Kota Jambi. Student administration plays an important role in facilitating services for students and organizing student data in an orderly and systematic manner. This research employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the school principal and student administration staff as informants and student. The data were analyzed through several stages, including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings of this study indicate that the implementation of student administration at SMK Negeri 4 Kota Jambi has been carried out effectively and has contributed to improving service efficiency through more systematic student data management, faster administrative procedures, and greater accuracy in data processing. However, the study also found challenges related to the limited number of human resources in managing student administration. The novelty of this research lies in its analysis of the implementation of student administration with a focus on improving service efficiency using indicators of speed, accuracy, and staff productivity within the vocational school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of participatory leadership by the principal and teacher involvement in decision-making at SMAN 13, Jambi City. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study to gain a deeper understanding of participatory leadership practices in the real school context. Data were collected through open-ended questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that participatory leadership by the principal is implemented through four main aspects: two-way communication, collaboration, teacher involvement, and deliberative decision-making. Teacher involvement has occurred in the planning, implementation, evaluation, academic, and disciplinary development aspects. However, this involvement has not been fully optimal because teachers have not been involved evenly in the initial stages of policy formulation. The novelty of this study shows that teacher involvement is still not comprehensive, resulting in a gap between the practice and concept of participatory leadership. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen teacher participation to make it more equitable, substantive, and sustainable.
