Critical thinking skills need to be strengthened among university students, particularly in Sociolinguistics courses, which require students to connect linguistic concepts with actual phenomena of language use. This community service activity aimed to enhance the critical thinking skills of Indonesian Literature students at Universitas Jambi through the implementation of a Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-oriented Student Assignment Plan (Rencana Tugas Mahasiswa/RTM) in Sociolinguistics instruction. The study employed a classroom action research approach consisting of four stages: planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The PBL-based RTM was implemented through four worksheets designed to guide students in observing linguistic phenomena, identifying forms of language interference and integration, distinguishing the characteristics of these phenomena, formulating hypotheses, and conducting analyses based on relevant linguistic concepts. The results indicated that students’ critical thinking skills could be enhanced through systematically structured and collaborative learning tasks..
