Healthy latrine ownership is an important component of basic sanitation. In Aceh Barat Daya District, access to healthy latrines remains a challenge. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the nurse’s role as an educator and healthy latrine ownership. A cross-sectional design was used with 81 household respondents. Bivariate analysis employed the chi-square test with continuity correction. Healthy latrine ownership was found among 18 of 56 respondents (32.1%) who rated the nurse’s educator role as good and among 2 of 25 respondents (8.0%) who rated it as poor. A statistically significant association was found between the nurse’s role as an educator and healthy latrine ownership (p = 0.040). Based on the 2 × 2 table, the odds ratio was 5.45 (95% CI: 1.16–25.66). These findings indicate an association rather than a causal relationship. Strengthening the capacity of community nurses as educators and collaboration with environmental health workers within the Community-Based Total Sanitation (STBM) program may be considered for evaluation in future intervention or longitudinal studies.
