Abstract

The use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to take aerial photographs is increasing in recent years. Photo data taken by UAV become one of reliable detailed-scale  remote sensing data sources. The capability to obtain cloud-free images and the flexibility of time are some of the advantages of UAV photo data compared to satellite images with optical sensor. Displayed area at the data shows the objects clearly. Rural area has certain characteristics in its land cover namely ricefield. To delineate the area correctly there is an object-based image analysis methods (OBIA) that could be applied. In this  study, proposed a novel method to  execute the separation of objects that exist in the data with segmentation method. The result shows an effective segmentation method to separate different objects in rural areas recorded on UAV image data. The accuracy obtained is 90.47% after optimization process. This segmentation can be a valid basis to support the provision of spatial information in rural area.

Abstract

Land order in an urban area that is not based on complete and reasonable spatial information an cause an unintegrated development program. Therefore, spatial information that can analyze the information to make a decision of land order is greatly needed. To present the most reasonable physical data of the urban can use the data of remote sensing as a main source, because the data an present not only a high temporal resolution, but also a complete object. Along with the advance of computer-based GIS, the data of remote sensing can be integrated with GIS. In addition, the data sharing can be used in various sectors. Thus, both updating and mutual exchanging of data can be done easly.

Abstract

The study aims to estimate water storage index (IPA) of six sub watersheds (Panjang, Rengas, Legi, Galeh, Parat, and Sraten) in the cachment area of Rawapening lake by using Geographic Information System. Water storage index can be calculated from average discharge (m3) devided by water requirement (m3) for each land cover/land use. Landuse information is obtained from Indonesian Topographic Map scale of 1:25.000 as updated by using SPOT image (2006), while surface water availability data was obtained from the ministry of public works. The results indicate that 1) IPA of Panjang Subwatershed was categorized as good condition with an index value of 1,49; 2)IPA of Rengas and Legi sub watersheds were categorized as moderate condition with index value 0,76 and 0,55; 3) IPA of Galeh, Parat, and Sraten sub watersheds was categorized as bad with index value of 0,3, 0,15, and 0,33, this watershed need to be improved especially an effective water resources plan, allocating and distributing of water according to priority establishment.

Abstract

The development and utilization of information technology will make the competition among universities,  as a result the universities should maintain their quality of services to get their potential customers and key customers, in particularly to get related information, in order to being first choice in the society. Professional management will be able to provide outstanding quality services and highly competitive, especially in academic services. The development of academic information system to improve the services can be done by apply the Customer Relationship Management or (CRM). Implementation of CRM in academic information system can create an emotional bond that is able to build a two-way communication between users and academic system providers. With good and reliable communication can improve the quality of academic services to the customers, which in turn will be able to improve the customer loyalty and increase the customer satisfaction in the Faculty of Computer Science.

Abstract

This study was conducted to know whether or not the use of Information Gap activities improves students’ accuracy in speaking skill that cover three elements of accuracy; vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar; and to know whether or not the use of Information Gap activities improves students’ literal comprehension in reading skill. This research applied a quasi experimental design; the non equivalent control group design. It used two groups; experimental groups and control group. The data obtained from the test was analyzed quantitatively and then its’ result was compared with t-table to know whether they were significantly different or not. The data showed students’ mean score of accuracy in speaking skill and literal comprehension in reading skill improved after teaching by using Information Gap activities. In experimental class, the students’ accuracy of pretest was 1.55 and improved to be 3.06 in posttest, students’ literal comprehension of pretest was 0.82 and posttest was 3.21. In control class, the students’ accuracy was 1.90 for pretest and 2.32 for posttest; students’ literal comprehension was 1.63 for pretest 2.27.  These findings indicate that the mean score of posttest was greater than pretest for that both class. However, the students’ mean score in experimental was greater than control class where accuracy (3.06>2.37) and literal comprehension (3.21>2.27). It meant that implementing Information Gap activities were effective to improve the students’ speaking and reading skills.Keywords: Speaking and reading skills, accuracy, literal comprehension, Information Gap ActivitiesPenelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan kegiatan Informasi Gap meningkatkan akurasi siswa dalam keterampilan yang mencakup tiga unsur akurasi berbicara; kosakata, pengucapan, dan tata bahasa; dan untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan kegiatan Informasi Gap meningkatkan pemahaman literal siswa dalam keterampilan membaca. Penelitian ini menerapkan desain kuasi eksperimental; desain kelompok kontrol non setara. Ini digunakan dua kelompok; kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Data yang diperoleh dari tes dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kemudian hasilnya dibandingkan dengan t-tabel untuk mengetahui apakah mereka berbeda secara signifikan atau tidak. Data menunjukkan akurasi nilai rata-rata siswa dalam keterampilan dan pemahaman literal berbicara dalam keterampilan membaca membaik setelah mengajar dengan menggunakan kegiatan Informasi Gap. Di kelas eksperimen, akurasi siswa pretest adalah 1,55 dan ditingkatkan menjadi 3,06 di posttest, pemahaman literal siswa dari pretest adalah 0,82 dan posttest adalah 3,21. Di kelas kontrol, akurasi siswa adalah 1,90 untuk pretest dan untuk posttest 2,32; pemahaman literal siswa adalah 1,63 untuk pretest 2,27. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata dari posttest lebih besar dari pretest untuk kedua kelas. Namun, nilai rata-rata siswa dalam eksperimen lebih besar dari kelas kontrol di mana akurasi (3,06> 2,37) dan pemahaman literal (3.21> 2.27). Ini berarti bahwa pelaksanaan kegiatan Informasi Gap yang efektif untuk meningkatkan berbicara dan membaca keterampilan siswa.Kata Kunci: Berbicara dan keterampilan membaca, akurasi, pemahaman literal, Informasi Gap Aktivitas.

Abstract

Purchasing books for library in educational institution has many problems. The librarians as buyers can not buy books since she/ he does not have sense about the contents and objective of the needs. Students and lectures know better and morecapable to selecting books they need, but they do not have support from marketing database or marketing information system. A marketing information system was analyzed and designed to assist librarians, lectures, students to communicate each other. The librarians make segmentation about categorized books, budget segmentation by topics, study program, faculties, and major interest. This study propesed a design and a user interface to make a comfortable and precise decision in purchasing books. CRM concepts will be used as a communicating between the librarians and the users.

Abstract

Abstract

Along with the rapid advancement of technology development led to the amount of information available is also increasingly abundant. The aim of this study was to determine how the implementation of information retrieval system in the classification of the journal by using the cosine similarity and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN). The data used as many as 160 documents with categories such as Physical Sciences and Engineering, Life Science, Health Science, and Social Sciences and Humanities. Construction stage begins with the use of text mining processing, the weighting of each token by using the term frequency-inverse document frequency (TF-IDF), calculate the degree of similarity of each document by using the cosine similarity and classification using k-Nearest Neighbor.Evaluation is done by using the testing documents as much as 20 documents, with a value of k = {37, 41, 43}. Evaluation system shows the level of success in classifying documents on the value of k = 43 with a value precision of 0501. System test results showed that 20 document testing used can be classified according to the actual category.

Abstract

The development of information technology affects students in searching and finding information, particularly information regarding the General Election. Theexplosion of information on mass media about the elections resulted impact (both positive and negative) to the potential voters. Nowadays, media plays role as a tool for political parties to lead public opinion to support their parties. Based on the data provided by General Election Commission (KPU) in 2014, 20% of voters were identified as students (teens). This is a qualitative research with case study methodwhich aims to gain insight about interpretation, understanding, perceptions and feelings of teenage voters’ behavior in searching and finding information about general election in Indonesia year 2014. The data were collected by conducting interview and observation. Informants (six persons) in this study were students, aged 17-18 years, who studying in government senior high school in Depok. The results of this study indicates that informants using social media to keep update about general election. Besides, they also gain information from their parents and close friends. Unfortunatelly, they were not able to identify which information which are correct or not, so they rely on people around them to make sure whether they did right decision. Therefore, this study also suggest that KPU needs to develop promotion strategy that suitable for teens about general election.
